I worked fast food. The worst part about it for me wasn’t even the terrible customers, or being covered in grease the whole shift, or the one time my pants ripped. It was the aimless feeling and that perpetuating thought of “When am I going to get out of here? HOW am I going to get out of here?”.
Not to mention that time just doesn't pass. Everything always smells like cigarette smoke, half the other people are high and barely doing their work, and even the managers are always miserable. I will never work in fast food again as long as I live. The food industry itself is bad, and even retail is bad, but I'll gladly take either any day

FYI: "Follow through" means to continue the motion after the moment of impact, where a lot of people are instinctively inclined to stop, or to allow the bat, club, or racquet (or axe, if chopping wood) to recoil. It's a physics thing. "Following through" forces the ball to absorb the bulk of the impact's force, sending further away. The other command associated with it "keep your eye on the ball" has more to do with most people's lack of visio-spatial awareness. Baseballs, tennis balls, racquet balls, shuttlecocks, and to a lesser extent softballs are small, fast-moving targets that are very easy to miss even under ideal circumstances, especially for people who struggle to gauge how their implement affects their perceived reach.

Episode 1: Pomni broke Gangle's mask. Episode 2: A random NPC broke Gangle's mask. Episode 3: Jax threw her mask at the spooky door. Episode 4: Jax accidentally broke her mask when he hit her pitch.
Well, Pomni hit Jax, who fell into Kinger, who then fell into Gangle who finally fell over and dropped their mask. Started by Pomni, directly hit by Jax. But you are correct. Only twice has he done it, not every time, and only the first time was intentional while the second was completely by accident

50:59 the fudge from episode 2, based on vivid greedy from that same movie. Look up "the greedy sweet heart song" for a psychedelic fantastic unnerving smooth animation. Trust me, the animation goes super hard, makes this CGI look like kid's scribblings!
Plus oddly enough, Pomni is sort of like the glue keeping everyone together from abstraction. Pomni realized starting from episode 2 that she CAN build connections with everyone at the Digital Circus even if there is supposedly no way to go back home to the real world. The loss of Gummigoo back in episode 2 taught Pomni while the NPCs can’t keep their memories of her, the people in the Digital Circus CAN and she should open up to them more. In episode 3, Pomni learned that Kinger had a wife that tragically abstracted and to value the connection with others because you never know when they’ll be gone. Also Pomni expressed genuine gratitude to Ragatha for trying to be friends with her throughout their time together in the Digital Circus despite all the crazy things that have happened. And now here in episode 4, Pomni might not have directly confronted Gangle about her “masking her emotions” problem, she did at least try to listen to Gangle’s true feelings about her situation and even offered to help Gangle close up shop when it was implied that Gangle was on the verge of abstraction. This in turn led to Zooble and Gangle forming a friendship when Zooble actually sat with Gangle and said they’d help Gangle get through her own problems. Pomni indirectly helped spark that change in Gangle. Pomni really is the glue holding everyone together. I wonder how Pomni will help Ragatha, Jax and Zooble down the road in future episodes?
7:13 Where does this idea that they couldn't remember their life come from? I'm honestly confused, since it's never been said, or even implied, that they forget anything beside their name.
I do see a lot of RUclipsrs suggest that they don't remember their past. Meanwhile Gangle totally seems to remember being a comic artist (She was projecting a little with that video) and Kinger seems to remember how many years he studied computer stuff and Ragatha seems to have maybe owned horses (poor horses losing their owner). Cain makes it clear no one remembers their names, but, that's it. No idea why people think they know nothing
What I find is that Zooble giving Gangle the mask may be taken as Zooble thinking that she's helping Gangle, but she seems to think that Gangle's problems are more like her own than they really are. So completely unintentionally, she loaded some of her own issues onto Gangle and now Gangle has the wrong idea of how to manage her issues based on how Zooble manages her own issues.
Something to note in this episode is that Cain reused a lot of assets that would have gone into his original adventure The fat guy with the apron in the posters was going to be the butcher, and the human meat got repurposed into the burger meat
Right on time! Edit: Even at my State Job, I have to do OSHA video training, and some of the videos are just a repeat of the same topic 3-4 times. I literally go on my phone and let it play on the background because it's mostly just common sense.
If I'm not mistaken, the mask Zooble wears is supposed to be an allegory to Antidepressants and how they don't always work out, and it can be a thing of trial and error
I place this here cause I just noticed, when pomni says gummy goos' name, he looks sad and even close to reaching out to her, maybe he's aware but acting?
@@rokkraljkolesa9317 Even if you saw sadness in that expression, that could be easily explained. The way Pomni told Gangle "But... it's Gummigoo." implies it's not just someone this weird jester knows, but other people know, and with such familiarity that they just causally bring up his name. That expression could just as easily be "Wait, you both know me? Am... I supposed to know who you are? I'm confused here..."
1:00 follow through is continuing to move in the same direction when you throw. It fixes one common mistake that people make when throwing, sometimes you mistime when you actually release, and that last split second has you flinch or move out of the path and mess up your aim. Look up military grenade training fails, and you can see what happens when people don't follow through, they are anticipating needing to move after throwing of the grenade that they get the timing off. Their fingers are still in contact with the grenade even though they have released as they start to move elsewhere. A similar problem happens in archery/guns as well. For guns, this is why you are told to squeeze the trigger and not pull, because the tiny shake in your hand as you pull in anticipation of the gun shooting throws off your aim a little.
This does seem to go against his characterization in the actual show. It's not as though Jax has done anything truly horrible and his mask slips every so often.
@FireheadLazzo I personally don't think it goes against his characterization so far and that his behavior isn't a mask, but that's just personal theorizing and all.
@@FireheadLazzo Bad wording on my part. Fair point. I mean that so far I think he genuinely is a bad person who likes hurting others rather than putting on a mask to protect himself or cope. It's valid to see the irredeemable part as debatable so far, so I concede on that term, but I do think that so far he has been portrayed as someone we're kind of supposed to dislike and not sympathize with and who really is just awful overall. The comedic sociopath archetype in the style of Family Guy, basically.
@@williamharmon4039 idk, he kind of just comes off as a troll than a genuinely bad person. The sort of person who would blow up your Minecraft house, but not someone who would do something genuinely horrible.
12:31 We put them on a grill like that. Although we put water in the grill and put a cover on olit to steam cook them as well. Then we put the burger on the bun, ass cheeze and essentially microwave it to melt the cheeze, before putting the rest of the toppings on.
Working at Wal-Mart was really stressful! Go in and you immediately hit with what ahead of ya. And when you post to clean up something you have to look for you cleaning tools or work with what you have. It worst when you have to clean up after your co-workers and your boss who made a mess and didn't clean it or page you for it then yell at you for not cleaning it
It's an interesting choice that once they enter Spudsy's, there's almost no music at all. Outside of the very end, there's only a brief bit in the middle of the episode when Gumigoo leaves that we start getting a soundtrack, and then when Jax insults Gangle it immediately cuts out again. Otherwise, nothing. Really adds to the oppressive atmosphere.
While I do get the hate for this job. Am I the only one that thinks it would atleast be kinda interesting to just do it as a one off thing? Like If you have never been a fast food employee, doing a single shift as an adventure atleast sounds like valuable experience.
episode 2 was pomnis arc, episode 3 was kinger and now it was gangle, that means episode 5 is ragtha, then episode 6 is Jax and episode 7 is zoobles arc
I would switch Jax and Zooble, feels like the bunny is the most likely to have the last character focused episode of the bunch, since he's the most antagonistic of the players.
@@thisisanickname231 I think Zooble isn't necessarily going to get one, after all besides Pomni they're the only one we've seen get spotlight and gradual character development throughout the series as of yet.
1:02 to follow through means to continue the motion even after completing the action. If you try to forcefully stop the action at the end, you're likely to mess up the timing, have less control, and/or transfer less force.
This place is heaven compared to being in the kitchen of Pizza hut, the assembly station was right next to the oven so you're getting baked on one side at whatever the temp was to cook a pizza in just a few minutes. Dunkin Donuts was a rough one too, couldn't stand the smell of donuts for a long time. Someone needs to make a Vtuber training video and send it to Chelz for a react.
@chelzorthedestroyer It wouldn't be beyond Glitch and Gooseworks to do something like that... (They already admitted to putting the number 57 everywhere they can, and that it does have a notable connection to the show itself.) (The blocks in Zooble's room show the number 57 at the beginning of the episode...)
8:46 TLDR: It's easier to be rude than it is to be nice. It's easier for people to be inconsiderate and rude to others because being a decent person and having consideration for others takes effort and mental power which can lead to feeling exhausted and worn out. Not everyone wants to grow from struggling in life in order to become a better version of themselves, so it's easier to not care about how your actions impact others which leads to them finding joy in other people's suffering.
Doubly so in a place like the Digital Circus, where most of your actions, good or bad, don't have lasting consequences. If it doesn't matter in the long run, and there's no chance of returning to a world where such things matter, why not do what will just be fun in the moment...?
@@insulttothehumanrace3807 The consequences do exist for some and it would be how people treat and see you after what you have done. Some people can not care about those things which to those people there aren't any effective consequences, but others can try to act out and be a jerk because it's easier but eventually crumble under the guilt and anxiety.
To fallow through in sports TL;DR to throw through is to let your body with the least amount of stress slow down after you excerpted the kinetic energy to send the ball in the direction without sacrificing speed, power, and potential over use of muscles and joints. Not a sports person but a person in a sports family. Fallow through just means that as you are making said object (in this case a soft ball) with an instrument (a 'bare' hand or a bat in this case) go in a direction. To fallow through is to no stop your motion when the object looses contact with the instrument. Essentially the moment that the soft ball leaves your hand or bounces cleanly off your bat you don't hard stop your hand/bat. You let your movements finish through their natural course as to hard stop can cause you to introduce bad motions in your preparations to stop your hand causing you to be less accurate, fast, and consistent while also potentially causing an injury due to frequent hard stops in your motions ) mostly just due to stress built at the joints doing both rapid acceleration and deceleration instead of allowing the body to use the extra few feet you could use to decelerate.
Worked at one place where the training videos were actually upto date, but that's because their dishwashing machines were over a decade out of date; pretty much a bundle of spare parts duct taped together because the multibillion dollar owners were too cheap to replace it, and when questioned about it they'd always give the excuse 'but we would have to close down for that and that means lost sales'. The machine broke down about every other month, shutting us down for a couple days to patch it back up anyway; though I was the only one to point out their obvious ineptitude at managing, they offered to promote me to middle management, but I turned that down immediately and left lol.
Follow through just means that you continue the motion after releasing. When throwing something, following through means that your arm isn’t slowing down before the release so you can throw with the arc’s full force. There’s a similar concept in martial arts, except you’re actively encouraged to *not* follow through there because that leaves you open and with a lot of techniques will reduce the shock of impact
9:29 nope, episode 1 it was pomni who pushed her, episode 2 it was a random npc, episode 3 it WAS jax and episode 4 it was him but it was an accident (if you rewatch the scene you see him look up to see where the ball goes then he realizes he hit gangle) and yea, him being the reason for her mask isn't good obviously, i just get confused at where the idea "he's the only reason her mask breaks" comes from
Anyone who's actually worked fast food, or any sort of customer service job probably wanted to go back to the monster murderfest that Caine was initially going to do over this.
45:44 well about "isekai" 😅 Their entire situation is one big isekai (but with a VR headset instead of truck-kun), and these adventures are like "mini-isekais" inside the isekai. And what the truck (or Caine, right before it hits Gangle) did is take her out of that adventure. So, what just happened is basically an ANTI-isekai. Or reverse isekai
My work stopped doing the training videos but I kinda wished they still did mostly cause of health related topics like washing your hands if you touch your face or clothes. I see a good number of my coworkers do this kind of thing and it ticks me off in the back of my mind but at this point I’ve given up caring. As for my job, the most annoying thing for me is when I get a ton of orders with little help because there’s only enough of us to cover each area or when I keep getting orders when I’m trying to do cleaning or filling tasks. I love doing deep cleaning jobs cause it makes my day feel more fulfilled.
In case no one has answered it yet(too lazy to scroll through all the comments, "Following through" in this instance means to let your arm keep moving after you release the ball instead of just stopping all arm movement the moment the ball leaves your hand. Hope this helps ^.^
I work delivery and installation of appliances. I don’t just get customer oddities at the office, I get it in their homes too… also, hoarders. Cue full body shudder.
I actually started streaming with no real money spent. Of course I started as a png tuber, upgraded when i was gifted a model, and used free assets i found for like the brb screen. it's just instead of paying money to get exactly what you want you spend time to get what is as good as you can find, but I totally get what you meant! Plus my main goal to stream is to have fun. The only real money I spent so far is on emotes. That said it's a big hassle and time sink to do it this way so its about spending time or money in a sense... yeah something like that.
They're all adults, Jax is canonically the youngest and he's twenty two. Edit: Kinger did the best because he supplied the beef by wrangling those bulls! Hah!
Jax does what he does because theres no consequences. None of the humans can die or stay hurt for very long. And the npcs dont matter. He is literally that person that would mindlessly slaughter npcs or fuck around in a video game because nothing really happens
Breakdowns are more healthy than bottling up emotions. My Dad once had a stress related stroke after bottling up his emotions for decades. Can't recommend.
So if you aren't paid to do trainings, and they refuse to pay you, sue them. Have proof of texts or communications and sue them for violation of labor laws.
The show's growing on me. Never was in food service but 15 years in retail made this one pretty relatable. Some reactors over-analyzing every little detail to Hell and back is a little annoying tho. Like dudes, not everything has deep-cut meaning.

the most interesting part of this episode to me at least. is that jax's cartoon persona breaks. the environment and adventure is normal, on top of his actions having consequences. was also interesting to see pomni caught off guard by jax trying to start a normal conversation with her. this actually has me excited for jax's episode in the future. with how his persona he has been using to cope with the circus is falling apart edit: actually the jax thing is my second favorite. my top favorite is gummigoo reaction to pomni saying his name and then reaching out to pomni. the episode leaves it ambiguous as to weather he remembers or not
This is just a thought, but maybe try watching The Fat Electrician if you are interested in real world history.
Something to note in this episode is that Cain reused a lot of assets that would have gone into his original adventure
The fat guy with the apron in the posters was going to be the butcher, and the human meat got repurposed into the burger meat
Right on time!
Edit: Even at my State Job, I have to do OSHA video training, and some of the videos are just a repeat of the same topic 3-4 times. I literally go on my phone and let it play on the background because it's mostly just common sense.
At 8:20 if you look at the tall red book to the right of the teapot on the bookshelf, it says MatPat Theory
"Jax deserves consequences." Understatement of the millennium!
(Jeffy) WRONG NEIGHBORHOOD BITCH!
If I'm not mistaken, the mask Zooble wears is supposed to be an allegory to Antidepressants and how they don't always work out, and it can be a thing of trial and error
I place this here cause I just noticed, when pomni says gummy goos' name, he looks sad and even close to reaching out to her, maybe he's aware but acting?
to me it looked more like he was about to ask "hey how do you know my name?"
I still punch a time card.

Keep in mind Jax has been described as irredeemable and most deserving of being stuck in the cirvus by Gooseworx.
This does seem to go against his characterization in the actual show. It's not as though Jax has done anything truly horrible and his mask slips every so often.
@FireheadLazzo
I personally don't think it goes against his characterization so far and that his behavior isn't a mask, but that's just personal theorizing and all.
@@williamharmon4039 Okay. So in your personal opinion, what's irredeemable about him?
@@FireheadLazzo
Bad wording on my part.
Up until recently, we cooked our burgers on a chain conveyor grill, but now we have a clamp press grill.
“Why would you drop Ragatha in the deep fryer?”
The answer is simple: It’s funny
"I'm fine with doing whatever, as long as I get to see funny things happen to people"
- Jax in the first episode
I'm not laughing. Honestly nothing Jax does seems funny and I don't get the attraction. He's just toxic.
@@grimgrahamch.4157 for me there’s no “attraction”
I just have a sense of humor more fucked up than a serial killer
While I do get the hate for this job.
Am I the only one that thinks it would atleast be kinda interesting to just do it as a one off thing?
Like If you have never been a fast food employee, doing a single shift as an adventure atleast sounds like valuable experience.
The flashing mask during the employee revaluation was a reference to Halloween III Silver Shamrock Commercial.
Jax is that coworker everyone hates but when you get fucked over on line you guys just chill and breathe no egos.
episode 2 was pomnis arc, episode 3 was kinger and now it was gangle, that means episode 5 is ragtha, then episode 6 is Jax and episode 7 is zoobles arc
Why would it be in that order in particular?
@grimgrahamch.4157 cause I could feel it
50:23 Everytime Gangle says that, it sounds like a threat from the Mafia. 😂
39:02 she probably did it because there's no point - it's a one-time adventure and she's not going back to it.
Jax's behavior is likely a coping mechanism designed to drive people away from him so they don't see him suffer in private.
40:05 - Do the stars spell out anything? Some of those constellations look rather odd for a digital sky...
Oh, I wonder if a Mat Pat like person is on that.
@chelzorthedestroyer It wouldn't be beyond Glitch and Gooseworks to do something like that...
(They already admitted to putting the number 57 everywhere they can, and that it does have a notable connection to the show itself.)
(The blocks in Zooble's room show the number 57 at the beginning of the episode...)
There's a book in Cain's office that says matpat theory@@chelzorthedestroyer
I work in Housekeeping, and this episode hit like a brick
@@insulttothehumanrace3807 I have replied to your comment but RUclips for some reason hid it unless you sort comments by newest first.
Jax is so relatable in this one. We all wan‘t to get of work, because it feels like an eternaty
7:19 They forgot their names, not their life
To fallow through in sports
TL;DR to throw through is to let your body with the least amount of stress slow down after you excerpted the kinetic energy to send the ball in the direction without sacrificing speed, power, and potential over use of muscles and joints.
Most realist one to me since I work at a fast food place
You have my pity.
This episode triggered so many people’s PTSD
9:29 nope, episode 1 it was pomni who pushed her, episode 2 it was a random npc, episode 3 it WAS jax and episode 4 it was him but it was an accident (if you rewatch the scene you see him look up to see where the ball goes then he realizes he hit gangle) and yea, him being the reason for her mask isn't good obviously, i just get confused at where the idea "he's the only reason her mask breaks" comes from
I think it was mentioned somewhere that they do remember bits and pieces of their old lives. They just forgot finer details, like their names.
Thank you. I needed this.😢
Love your reactions! You are very entertaining too!
28:10 I completely missed that she lore dropped that she had horses before she got out into this world
Having a dream is like having a boat if you don't have a paddle to roll the boat then it wouldn't go nowhere
You can't lose hope if you dont remember what you're trying to get back to
Anyone who's actually worked fast food, or any sort of customer service job probably wanted to go back to the monster murderfest that Caine was initially going to do over this.
I think Jax would certainly have had a better time. I think Ragatha had a pretty good time here, though, lol.
Glad to see someone mentioned that your chat was cutoff on the side, I'm pretty sure it had been like that for a very long time now XD
Everyone forgot Coughmo and he would likely be stress…since he abstracted and all that. 37:00
Kaufmo was depression or hopelessness which makes sense if he was a clown and no one laughed at his jokes the irony is poetic
45:44 well about "isekai" 😅
Their entire situation is one big isekai (but with a VR headset instead of truck-kun), and these adventures are like "mini-isekais" inside the isekai. And what the truck (or Caine, right before it hits Gangle) did is take her out of that adventure.
So, what just happened is basically an ANTI-isekai. Or reverse isekai
12:26 Depends on the fast food joint. Burger King has frozen pre-made patties, so there's no pressing. Smash Burger does the press (AKA smash).
That said it's a big hassle and time sink to do it this way so its about spending time or money in a sense... yeah something like that.
when gooseworx draws comics of amazing digital circus she gives pomni a unicorn horn, i think its to show they are not canon
As a fellow slave to the customer service industry, I feel your pain.
Forgot fast food restaurant. I work part time at a grocery store and I had to do training quizzes or videos with a quiz ever day I started my shift.
I am eating a Salad. Also stoned Ragatha is a SMASH!
i beg your finest pardon
They're all adults, Jax is canonically the youngest and he's twenty two. Edit: Kinger did the best because he supplied the beef by wrangling those bulls! Hah!
as some one who has screammed in the walk in freezer... for some reason your comment hit hard
Can't recommend.
follow through means to just let the momentum do the rest so you don’t strain anything.
How the hell did 23 minutes turn into 50?
Because it's meeeeeeeeee... It's called a Manic episode, and you're getting 3 more seasons, lol.
Love these reaction videos
i believe jax didn't do it on purpose. he was looking up as if expecting to launch it far.
So if you aren't paid to do trainings, and they refuse to pay you, sue them. Have proof of texts or communications and sue them for violation of labor laws.
The funny thing is, I can honestly believe that Jac hitting Gangle was an accident. The dude is just such an ass all the time that no one believes it.

My biggest criticism with the show is the weird hesitance the characters seem to have with talking about their past lives in greater depth.

Follow through is where you go to fart and then end up shi- oh oh wait... No... Wrong type of follow through... my mistake...
the most interesting part of this episode to me at least. is that jax's cartoon persona breaks.
the environment and adventure is normal, on top of his actions having consequences.
was also interesting to see pomni caught off guard by jax trying to start a normal conversation with her.
this actually has me excited for jax's episode in the future.
with how his persona he has been using to cope with the circus is falling apart
edit: actually the jax thing is my second favorite.
my top favorite is gummigoo reaction to pomni saying his name and then reaching out to pomni.
the episode leaves it ambiguous as to weather he remembers or not
This is just a thought, but maybe try watching The Fat Electrician if you are interested in real world history. His best videos (imo) are on the Thunderscreech, Aimo Koivunen, The Doom Turtle, and the Mosquito. They are a more serious take on edutainment, which is the format Internet Historian uses.
