I think Saberspark had a good theory on this too. The Digital Circus is a children's computer game that is being developed. Pomni and the other characters are the devs. And Caine is the Ai who uses these people as his playthings. Not malicious or evil, but definitely insane by our standards. I have been following the works of Gooseworx and Kevin Temmer are both talented animators and musicians in their own right, so to me it was no surprise this turned out so good. I highly suggest taking a look at their other work and possibly reacting to it. The "gameshow in the stomach" was a reference to Gooseworx's animation "Elain the Bounty Hunter" or "Little Runmo" I can't remember which one.

I actually have a SUPER far fetched, outlandish theory, but when I saw the Cain and Abel thing (C&A) I thought, wait, if that’s the case, why is there only Caine? We know they can’t die and Caine’s been confirmed to be a near godlike AI in the circus so it wouldn’t make sense if Abel got abstracted or didn’t exist at all as he’d be an AI with near unlimited power too, but then, I thought of something. Out of all the characters, Caine is a confirmed AI with godlike powers and possibly a connection to C&A, the rest are all humans or NPC’s created for adventures, but then, there’s Bubble. Bubble is a bit animal like to be a person, and has a close relationship to Caine and isn’t part of any adventure in particular. Also, Caine seems to have powers related to creation such as creating NPC’s and structures or altering digital forms in the digital realm, so what if Abel was once a godlike AI like Caine, with the power of destruction rather than creation, and was in charge of deleting abstracted people who couldn’t be fixed or deleted by Caine? And Caine was confirmed to be wanting to help but simply has a lack of understanding, so what if Caine wanted to convince Abel not to delete them yet and that maybe in the future they could find a way to fix them, but Abel thought it was too dangerous to let them stay, let alone pile up in numbers (like they do in the cellar) and that it was his duty to delete them to keep the digital realm stable, so Caine reluctantly used his ability to manipulate digital forms in order to not delete Abel, but to put him in a state similar to stasis, such as for example, giving him a form which can’t use his powers, and making a false dumb personality to serve as sedation, like Bubble for example. Bubble is close to Caine, is such a weird character, and is voiced by the creator herself, and yet we know close to nothing in terms of details relating to plot or lore, well what if Bubble is just the form Caine turned his AI brother into in order to keep him under control until he finds a way to save the abstracted people? This could also lead to a very heavy result with 1 of 2 possibilities, either Caine is right and they do find a way to make everyone normal again, or Abel is right, the abstracted ones break out of the cellar, and Bubble has to be turned back into his original form to delete the abstracted ones, which would end up on a sad note but also weirdly granting a sense of both closure and doom as it would show that there really is no way to come back after you’re gone. But that’s just a theory I thought of while rewatching the pilot over and over, it would also be fine and downright hilarious too if it turns out even with all the mystery and implied importance it turns out that Bubble is just Bubble.

The Exit Door sign is either coz Caine only has that Asset in the files OR it's all he's ever seen... There is a theory that Caine designed the office rooms as they are all he knows of the outside world... So he never saw an Exit door just the signs pointing to the Exit door.
