My brother loved Assassin’s Creed, though He only played first two. It was hard time for me, when Revelations came out, in November 2011 I was depressed and struggled to keep myself safe in my dark mind, It was because my brother passed away on August 2011. Ezio story kept me going through bad moments. After many years I still remember my brother whenever I play Revelations. My brother taught me to never give up, and Ezio taught me that time comes when you have to let go of your loved ones.
This is actually true, the game is a amazing but still feels like a small sequel similar to brotherhood. If it had the mass of ac2 it would have been a masterpiece in my opinion because the foundation was perfect it just needed more.
Giving Ezio and Altair a well-deserved conclusion was absolutely amazing. This IMO was the true peak of Assassin's Creed. Yes, AC Black Flag is great, but I feel like after the Ezio trilogy, the games started to shift away from the core creed concepts. Something that separates good games from amazing games is a compelling story, something that Revelations (and the games that came before) mastered.
The hook blade I think is kinda necessary story wise. Ezio was getting slow in his old age so he needed the hook blade to aid him in his climbing. The advance wall jump was a key element in the Ezio trilogy so they couldn't just remove it.
Really good point actually! I hadn't thought of that specifically. Would've been nice if they added more ziplines though to fully utilise it across the map rather than for climbing mainly.
Not actually, it's just an implementation for faster climbing and nothing else. Like an upgrade. Age is not his entirely reason, but rather just an appearance for now. Yusuf and the others used it as well, are they old? Nope. People just say that at first but when you realize that Altair shares the same speed as a 50 year old Ezio, they blame the game's speed. But overall, it's just the map is much built for the use of the hookblade. Brotherhood felt smaller and tighter while Revelation seems wider and more thicker.
This was the first game I ever owned and even while I did not know there we other parts of Ezio’s story back then, I loved and enjoyed this game so much ❤
@@GamesIForgot I’ve played every single AC game and it’s my favourite franchise. I think I even played Ezio’s games 4 times already 😅 Anyway great video! Love all the others as well!
@Lisa Maria van Harmelen for me even years later I still feel thus type of pain and loss after Ezio's death it feels like I lost a friend everytime I remember him and his story the felling of sorrow comes back I still remember back when I was a kid when I first experienced revelations and most notably his ending and final scene with Altair I was emotional these games never failed to amaze me with its story characters and its atmosphere and beautiful soundtracks
My favorite from the Ezio trilogy. Desmond arc pisses the hell out of me because aside him not doing anything in the real world, all of his backstory is locked inside a boring platform. Now Altair's story arch is something of beauty, it doesn't overstays it's welcome, it picks up elements not just from AC1 but from Altair's Chronicles and Bloodlines, and gives us one of the best payoffs i've seen in a game. I never knew how much i needed to hear ''Requiescat in pace, Altair'' until i did, and Ezio showing to Desmond the ''revelation'' that the world is gonna end got me so hyped for AC3. And guess what, AC3 is my favorite of the franchise.
The bomb crafting didn't really interest me initially but on my 3rd playthrough I experimented a little and man was it fun, those sticky bombs were hilariously fun
Ac 2 was the best in the trilogy. The settings, the pacing, the way he hunted each templer one by one while finding out about how each member that helped him was also an assassins and Venice my favourite map. Hope they do a remake of that game in the future absolutely breathtaking.
Amazing video and completely agree! It’s not the best assassin’s creed game, but it’s my personal favourite and means a lot to me. Thank you for this! ❤
The hookblade also helps you to go down as well as up. Try running at a high ledge and holding open hand to swing yourself over, then let go and catch as many other platforms on your way down as you need to. Add in a few ejects for some directionality on your way down to the street. I have a video where I do this in AC2, but I have to use weird exploits in place of the hookblade moves
Loved the video. Although the game has it weaknesses. It's my favorite cause it really does Ezio's story justice. Also glad they gave Ezio a happy ending. I love the older and wiser Ezio and the dialogues.
Excellent video!! Revelations was my very first Assassin's Creed game and it's still one that I hold very close to my heart. I would urge everyone who has played the Ezio trilogy to watch the short film Assassin's Creed Embers. It's truly the most beautiful sendoff to a beloved character that I have ever seen.
Great video man! I grew up playing the Assassins creed series and it quickly became my favourite series with Revelations being the one closest to my heart. Ezio was more than just a game character for me, he was like a friend especially when I was in my early teens. I'm now 24 and he's still the best video game character imo. For those that haven't seen, Revelations paired with the short animation film Assassins Creed Embers is the perfect ending to a perfect character
I’ve played assassin’s creed ever since 2007 and I have my brother to thank for. Ever since the release of assassin’s creed brotherhood I’ve always been addicted to the Multiplayer. I played every day. By the time assassin’s creed revelations was in its prime I was more addicted to multiplayer. I wish Ubisoft brought back this type of multiplayer in the new titles.
Agreed. The story and payoff was so satisfying and perfect in Revelations, and was the best sendoff for both Altair and Ezio's entwined stories. In a sense, I wish that the modern day plot of AC3 was placed here in order to also end Desmonds tale.
You are spot on in saying that the narrative of the script and the strength of the main protagonist are what shine through the most in the Ezio trilogy, and none of the other Assassins could quite live up to that standard, (though for me Bayek was amazing too). The only other series and character for me which compares is Witcher and Geralt. At the end, I was just so glad Ezio got the closure he deserved. And that final sequence with Altair, my hair stand up even after all these years.
Everything about that video touched me, so I subscribed immediately! This game story was one of my most beloved among the Ezio trilogy due to its super well-done conclusion for both him & Desmond Miles. I wish we would be blessed with such a well constructed series of games again from assassins Creed as I have been playing it since the first game back in 2007! Never missed a single entry, and so far, my top stories are the ones associated with the first 3 games, black flag, origins, and unity ❤️ Keep it up bro, you are an amazing storyteller
I used love the assassins creed games when i was younger. I even read the novelization of this game. Which filled in some of the time gaps in between chapter skips and showed the final cutscene from Ezio's perspective. Of wanting to walk away but seeing the vision anyway. Then to be told it was not for him. Confirming that he was truly just a messenger for someone centuries away from him. It also included Ezio's true in ending from Asassins creed embers which you didnt talk about here. Getting to see the life he built with Sofia and how happy he was. With him knowing he has little time left and trying write a final letter to Sophia. With him finally passing away peacefully in Florence. The short film showed how much he had changed over the years and how he viewed his choices. A fitting ending to loved character
Just finished the trilogy and have to say that I like this part the most. It's more calm and a worthy end for the character. Constantinople was a welcoming change to Italy as well. Very well structured video and worthy for the end of the Ezio Trilogy. Booting up AC 3 now...
When Ubisoft came out with AC2. It started the story of one of the best video game characters ever. We see our greatest assasin, our hero, our inspiration. Grow from an arrogant stubborn young man to a wise master assassin, and his death (from the short film Assassins Creed embers) With every game of Ezio. We as fans grow our hearts close to Ezio, and we feel so much emotion every time we see him. And we loved the great assassin we saw grow. And then when we see the death after the life he gave up, which made many of us cry. Ubisoft made a great character. Ezio makes us cry, laugh, and grow to love. And he drives us so much in true real life. We want to be like him. Many of us want to live like him. He drives us to be better, smarter, and more intelligent. And with the great man we grown to see, we in real life, walk with pride and happiness in life. Because he was our inspiration. Thank you Ubisoft for making Ezio Auditore. You have made us, a great thing. Creating Ezio.
the moment I heard the title screen theme music, I knew Revelations was something special. This was the Ezio I wanted, as much as I found young Ezio entertaining, It was too far removed from the Altair that I liked. AC1 had a distinctly philosophical intent in its writing, which is something I found Revelations to be a return to that.
I loved your video and I totally share your perspective (you explained it wonderfully). I tend to be very harsh with AC games because of what the franchise meant to me growing up and because of how great the disappointment was when they took a turn for the worse. I honestly think this was the last truly good Assassin's Creed game. For me, AC 3 killed the franchise and any good thing you can say about any of the games that came after could have been a feature of any other IP. AC was purposefully left without it's deserved conclusion, but at least we got to wrap up Ezio's beautiful story. I loved the AC Embers short too haha I couldn't let go of Ezio without following him to the absolute end.
It might be blasphemy to many in the AC community but Revelations is my favorite Ezio game. The hook blade made movement feel fresh by making climbing a bit quicker and pulling yourself up onto a ledge no longer feel cumbersome. I love the mostly dark grey city, contrasted by the brightly colored clothes of the locals. Artistic in and of itself, but especially in comparison to the mostly brown visual palette of AC2 and Brotherhood. The way Ezio and Altair's story were woven together was fantastic. I was hooked all the way through this story arc. Ezio and Sofia are goals. Also hooked with this story arc. Sofia is a dream woman and I wanted to see Ezio get a happy ending. The game is certainly flawed, but still, it is one of my favorite AC games.
Revelations is in someway the same with Rogue. It is the last of its generation and there isn't much innovation in terms of gameplay. But what it lacks in graphics, it makes up for storytelling. It's a shame that Ubisoft already milked the franchise to death though.
I can imagine spending your whole life fighting and killing to avenge your family only to find you only scratched the surface would make you more darker and quiet tiresome.

@@sadiqulislam5279 I'm happy you think it's perfect and love the game so much, I share the same passion for it and hope that shined through in the video. I don't think it's completely perfect but if we can agree on 99% of this game then that's a W for me! Thanks for taking the time to watch and comment, much appreciated brother.
meh...😕
A truly excellent point you have posed there, tough to debate that one.
Loool far far faaar from a masterpiece and easily the weakest from the Ezio trilogy
Agree to disagree I guess! What's your order for the trilogy out of curiosity?
@@GamesIForgot I guess it would be AC2, Brotherhood then Revelations (chronological order)
Brotherhood has better gameplay, but AC2's atmosphere and history are superior overall
AC Revelations lacks both for me,it just feels like a rushed game, honestly it just feels soulless
i think i should start playing assassin's creed all over again
