My thoughts exactly, it is as if you have stolen them right out of my mouth. Thank you for verbalizing these thoughts that many must be thinking while watching this interview.
Paras’ acting is BEYOND. He portrays a neurodivergent man beautifully and seamlessly. He brings depth, charm, sympathy and tenderness to Matthew that translates wonderfully on screen. Matthew has my heart- there are times I relate to him so deeply and his struggles to fit in.
After watching the scene where Jesus calls Matthew to follow him many times, something dawned on me before season 3 aired. Jesus called Matthew the son of (his dad's name) when it is known that Matthew was disowned by his father and family. So at that moment I realized that this could be a foreshadowing for Matthew to reconcile with his family. But it also hit me that even though sin disconnected us or disowned us from God, He still calls us His own, we just gotta get out of that tax collecting cage and come to Him.
Being diagnosed with autism two years ago made sense to how hard my life has been. Someone on the spectrum being on this show is like God kissing me on the forehead. So incredibly beautiful.
That diagnosis Is a hard thing! Your life has been so difficult yet... Knowing God is your greatest treasure! Even there Jesus comes to you there way you understand... You right there in all that mess, is So Important that you come to know Him! Jesus is our Greatest Gift in all the World!
Amazing how Paras and all the cast transforms themselves into these totally believable Bible characters who were all vulnerable. Imperfect and beautifully human, just like us. All we need to do is surrender like they did to our King Jesus.
Paras' portrayal of Matthew has opened my mind and heart to the issues that Bible Matthew endured. It's easy to think of Matthew as just "Yeah first book of the NT" while knowing Matthew was a tax collector, but seeing it, kind of "feeling" what Matthew is going through on screen made it so much more real to me.
And the way he brings value to the body of Christ by being the one that pays such careful attention to fulfilled prophecy, genealogy, names, places, added detail that doesn’t seem very important but shows the same events others wrote but with the facts for those who are very “left brain.” Yet it all can bring deeper meaning to the history and prophetic fulfillment. 💕
And I love that they don't consider him a defective person who needs to be "cured," it's just a part of him that causes some strengths and some weaknesses, like all of us have. Jesus could lay hands on him and make him "neurotypical" but the show allows him to be who he is.
Love Matthew and Paras is such a great actor. I cried the first time I saw him, my daughter has Asperger‘s and it hit home. This show is a great tool to point people back to their Bible. Thank you Dallas, Paras and the whole Chosen team. ❤
I relate to Matthew a lot here. I have autism and I love the Savior. I love when he tells his dog that people bark sometimes (season one). I love seeing him and his parents reconciled
I really connected with the scene of Mathew reconciling with his parents, my father disowned me right before his death. It eats me at the core every day, I felt how hard it was for Mathew to ask for forgiveness, but most of all for his father to admit his own mistake. I have forgiven my own father for abuse and not loving me the way he was supposed to. I did that through God, as I learned how a father was supposed to love me. I have healed from pain that was so deep I never could have done it on my own. I have OCD and PTSD from all the traumas. But God has healed me as he has healed Mathew, to make him do great things. This character inspires me that I too can-do great things through Christ who strengthens me.
I love Mathew's character. Really great acting. I was literally in floods of tears when he went home to make peace with his parents, a great scene. One of the greatest Commandments : we are to LOVE one another 🙏🏼❤️ Shalom Shalom
I love Matthew! He’s always been one of my favorite characters, and it’s amazing to see how he is changing as he travels with Jesus! The scene with his family brings tears to my eyes! Love this show!
My oldest son is on the spectrum with Asperger's, and it is absolutely beautiful to me to see Matthew portrayed in this manner. They are amazing, loving, and brilliant people that simply process the world and think differently than most....we can learn a lot from them! Thank you, Dallas and Paras, for your incredible work!
Matthew magnifies the importance and uniqueness of every relationship. The world takes relationships for granted. I don't want another day to go by where I'm not holding the heart of another as precious in the Lord's sight. Thank you Jesus for the love you've given me and in turn give to the people you've placed in my life today and for every day after. ❤🌻

Matthew is just such a loveable young man! You can't help but love him and put him under your wing and shelter and protect him. Matthew is definitely my favorite disciple after seeing The Chosen. I love how the show portrays Matthew’s struggles and gives him such rich backstory, because God knows and we know that Matthew was so much more than a tax collector and a record keeper. He also sought to be accepted and loved like so many of us and I feel for him having struggles with his parents. Paras portrays Matthew so well and I love the body language he brought to him. Great job, Dallas and The Chosen team!
It was a surprise that some of the kids who are watching the Chosen can relate to Matthew. And it was nice to see more of Matthew’s life, and that he is learning to be a better person. You can see that he is worrying about seeing his folks & trying to apologize. It shows that he is changing 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻 great job Dallas and to you to Paras.
Paras has changed the way I treat others who are different than what I am accustomed to. I have recommended THE CHOSEN to dozens of people not knowing whether they are believers of Jesus or not.
My favorite scene is when Jesus turns around and looks at Matthew after her healed the crippled man that came through the roof. The compassion and love through the eyes of Christ made me weep. At that moment you can sense what Matthew was feeling. Later when Jesus asked Matthew to follow him, he instantly dropped everything to follow Christ. I can watch this scene over and over again. I love Matthew’s character. It’s hard to find anything else to watch on television after watching The Chosen. So happy season three is finally out. ❤️
Witnessing Matthew's journey on The Chosen has definitely been one of the best parts of the show. Especially the context of how tax collectors would be treated. And the fact that Jesus saw pass all of it. Reconciling and healing Matthew's life in the process. It changes you deeply. And that makes me appreciate the story of Jesus, the disciples and over scriptures all the more. Because the show makes the heart of GOD that much palpable.

I've learned so much about autism, and even though I'm not diagnosed, I've realized there are some struggles I have that do connect with people of autism. I think it’s a real fear for most people. We don’t want to face judgement day without them. No matter how many arguments we get into with our families. We desire to be reconciled with them whether we have contact with them or not. We want them to be saved with us. I know it’s scary to think about being by Gods side or behind them in line and hear those scariest words even if he’s not talking about us.
Thank you Paras for portraying Matthew. I can identify with this character. I too battle with anxiety and seeing Matthew go through hard situations helps me to understand that GOD is always there and is pleased with me. I really enjoy The Chosen. Such a blessing to me.
Paras, you are amazing! Thank you so much for the way you are bringing Matthew to life for me and for shedding light on issues too often ignored or treated improperly in our society today.
Amazing Paras Patel, your role as Mathew is just so real and emotional. It helps us to know that apostle in a humanised manner. Congratulations for your work. ♡
Yours is my favorite story line and the way you portray him has a lot to do with that! You've brought a real understanding as to what he might have actually gone through. The restoration between Matthew and his father was so beautiful!
It’s beautiful because this is exactly what happens when we hear THE LIVING WORD. Realization and revelation falls upon us and we can’t help but act on the conviction we are feeling. Thank you Jesus!
I was surprised to learn Matthew was on the spectrum,my son has aspergers. This actor is amazing at his role. Love this show and can't wait to watch season 3 ❤️
We don't know if Matthew actually was on the spectrum. The writers are using creative speculation based on the the Gospel of Matthew being very factual compared to the other gospels being more emotive. This suggests Matthew may have been very literal minded. Also there were no computers back then, so a tax collector would have to have been very technically minded and good with numbers. This is a trait that many on the spectrum have. This portrayal of Matthew is one of my favourites.
@@Dlaine_Brun never heard or suspected Matthew being on the spectrum or close to it. I would only describe Paras' portrayal of him likened to be an idiot savant (clinical term) within an innocent child. his mind feels like a computer, abacus, and digital recorder combined. my mind is blown by the whole program, but especially Matthew!
Matthew is my fave by far! I love everyone but Matthew.. he just got in my heart and makes me smile. I just love Matthew from day 1 watching "The Chosen" he has filled my heart, even as a Tax collector. The Character of Matthew played by Paras Patel is amazing and convincing. The scene where he reconciles with his father had me in tears. Paras Patel as "Matthew" you have opened my heart to understanding, how we need to love unconditional and understand one another as Jesus does. Every actor of the Chosen: 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 Although the Bible of itself is the greatest gift God could have given humanity. But to see it come to life on the screen is inspiring. Thank you for sharing Gods truth and inspiring many to open the Bible and meet God on every page. Hallelujah! YHWH is delighted to see the lost turn to Jesus and seek God.
Thank you for showing Mathew realistically and the gift of self-examination is beautiful. Autism is an honorable way to show the humanity of Mathew. Thank you for this film and the story that opens hearts in a new way.
I love the character that you portray as well as the character of the nature of his day-to-day life. God bless you all from Bakersfield California USA 💪🏽🙏💞🐝🛡⚔⛓
This is my favorite “Mathew”! Thank you for making us who understand autism, feel special. Sir, you played this part to the “T”! My baby has autism, and I know she gets shunned because she’s different and in her own world. But I feel blessed, because I know she doesn’t care about what goes on in this world…. She’s not in to fads, could care less about social media, or what people say. She’s her authentic self. I’m a little jealous of that. She doesn’t care….. Everyone sees her different, maybe weird. I find her brilliant! Thank y’all again for making a character that is real.
The scene where Matthew visits with his parents is the other scene from episode 2 that had me ugly crying (but in a good way) in the theater. Having a complicated family life and relationship with your parents, especially when the life you have is hard for them to understand, is so heavy to carry. My parents also struggle to understand me and my disabilities. We have a deep desire to be understood and seen, especially by the people who have known us the longest. I really appreciated being able to witness the steps that Matthew and his parents took towards healing. ❤
Paras' rendition of Matthew has humanized Matthew to the point where i now start weeping when anything from the Book of Matthew is read aloud in church. The words in the Gospel have come alive for me.
0:52 Kids on the spectrum watching The Chosen and saying, "Oh, Matthew's just like me." Started chopping some onions after that one, not gonna lie.....
A huge thank you to God for this series that allows me to achieve so many things. Thanks to you, Dallas, Jonathan, Paras...all the actors, who answered the call...to participate in such a beautiful, cinematic work for thousands of hearts. I am overwhelmed by this gift... The scenes of life with Mathieu...call, Sernom on the mountain, reintroduction into his family, are particularly moving... And so many others... who show that God wants us each so different, so imperfect... Hate that season 3 is in French it will be easier for me (oops English) and I could share... It's urgent😋 Intense colors of the Father's heart on your lives, and at the heart of this project and work.

Thank you Paras for portraying Matthew. I can identify with this character. I too battle with anxiety and seeing Matthew go through hard situations helps me to understand that GOD is always there and is pleased with me. I really enjoy The Chosen. Such a blessing to me.
I'm proud of you Paras. Love from India. 🇮🇳
Love Matthew so much! Paras is such an amazing actor and reaching so many people because of Matthew! ❤️❤️❤️🙏Jane in SC
I've just watched season 3...it was amazing. The quality of acting from everyone in this series is breathtaking and a work of art.
You mean gay manner right.just want to help clearing language to it's intended definition that people are clear who this show truly worships
He is so amazing at this role. I was so drawn in.
I love the part Paras plays, he is so interesting and so good at acting the part, he has so much love in him.
Love Matthew ❤
best Yeshua good
Me too!
thanks
Good night good thanks
thank you Yeshua way
Yours is my favorite story line and the way you portray him has a lot to do with that!
Such a beautiful performance, Paras is an amazing actor, truly grateful for Mathews Character is one of the biggest reason I Love the show
I was surprised to learn Matthew was on the spectrum,my son has aspergers.
@@Dlaine_Brun No they don't know for sure but I'm glad that they did decide to portray Mathew on the spectrum.
I see. Yes true, either way, I'm glad they chose to portray him as such also. Wonderful acting 👏
Matthew my favorite ❤️!
Matthew is my fave by far! I love everyone but Matthew.. he just got in my heart and makes me smile. Honestly how I've never seen Paras in anything else I have no clue and I know y'all don't do this to win awards but you Sir deserve an award for your portral on The Chosen. Sending mucho love to all!! I'm excited because today at 3:00 I'm going to see episodes 7 and 8 in the theater!! 🙏🏼💗🙏🏼
I am absolutely loving this new season, you guys have done such a great job! I saw the first two episodes in theaters it was so worth the wait, keep it up!
I am so proud that you represent my namesake! THANK YOU for giving a GOOD NAME to Matthew. FINALLY!
I always told others that I was a Man of God, a writer of Christ...A reviled, evil tax collector...yet a rebel, a disciple. I love Matthew more than EVER!
This series has renewed my faith, stronger then anything.
LOVE Mathew's character!!! Definitely one of my favorite characters!!! Love THE CHOSEN!!! My favorite show to watch on any streaming source, or TV!!! Love the new THE CHOSEN App! Y'all are doing such a wonderful job with this show! I also LOVE the AFTER SHOW! My favorite line in the show so far, in all 3 seasons,..."I AM the law of Moses."!!! I've shared that short with everyone. And everyone loves it too!!! I need me some "The Chosen" SOCKS!!! Haha! TFS

Paras.. like Matthew.. a BEAUTIFUL person.. 💕
Matthew, you’re my favorite character on the show‼️Your portrayal of demonstrably enacting what it’s like to live in the spectrum is amazing‼️
Paras is such a gift! Beautiful insights in this little video! Love it!
Matthew and his parents forgiving scene was powerful.
One of the best scenes ever!
That scene was so touching to my heart ❤ and I was crying.
Yes forgiving him for being gay was touching.Really and this is supposed to be of God ummm
@@renegarcia8876 Mathew is NOT gay, he has special needs!
@@renegarcia8876 I didn't know that. I assumed it was because he was a tax collector.
I love you Matthew you are one of my best actor from the start my grand son is 5 but I see alot of him in you
His portrayal of Matthew is just amazing. His character is my favourite
One of my favorite , Matthew.
To Elohim, be the glory in Jesus' name! Lord, allow this series to advance your Kingdom that the lost may be saved. In Yeshua's name, I pray, Amen.
Blessings to the cast and everyone involved with "The Chosen" It's a must watch by everyone. Thank you Dallas Jenkins ✝🛐🙏❤
His performances are Emmy worthy!
Paras, we have 3 grandchildren with Fragile-X. So wonderful to see how you bring Matthew to life for so many who are different.
Every actor of the Chosen: 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Although the Bible of itself is the greatest gift God could have given humanity.
But to see it come to life on the screen is inspiring. Thank you for sharing Gods truth and inspiring many to open the Bible and meet God on every page. Hallelujah! YHWH is delighted to see the lost turn to Jesus and seek God.
His preachings will turn the hearts of fathers to their children, and the hearts of children to their fathers .
Malachi 4:6 ❤
Amen to that 😊❤
My fav character! Besides Jesus of course!! I love this series and I try to share it w others! You all deserve awards!! Tysm for your time and effort!
I'm sure I'm on the spectrum and I recognized it immediately in Matthew and I just want to thank you!! This whole series is totally awesome!
You are one of my favorite characters on this series! You play this role soo well! ❤
Thank you for showing Mathew realistically and the gift of self-examination is beautiful. Autism is an honorable way to show the humanity of Mathew. Thank you for this film and the story that opens hearts in a new way.
Matthew is my absolute favorite character on the Chosen.
Amazing portrayal of Paras as a person on the spectrum. So good! 🙏🏻
Thanks so much for sharing. We are glad to hear how the show has impacted you. 🙂
Paras' rendition of Matthew has humanized Matthew to the point where i now start weeping when anything from the Book of Matthew is read aloud in church. The words in the Gospel have come alive for me.
You are beautiful! And, doing a great amazing job playing Matthew 😊❤️
0:52 Kids on the spectrum watching The Chosen and saying, "Oh, Matthew's just like me."
Started chopping some onions after that one, not gonna lie.....
Loved the reconciliation scene with Matthew!
I love how Paras is portraiting Mathew! It’s for sure my favorite!!
I love Mathew’s character, excellent portrayal! Thank you for bringing him to life on screen!
It's urgent😋
Intense colors of the Father's heart on your lives, and at the heart of this project and work.
← this Jew loves the character of Matthew and Nicodemus. Opened my heart and broke me down into tears a few times. Starting in Season 1 after Jesus asked Nicodemus to follow him. And he was torn while watching Him walk by, peeking around the stone wall
I love the way you play the part of Matthew. 😇💜🙏🏾
So incredibly impactful storyline. Well written, beautifully acted. Thank you, @The Chosen and Paras!
I love Matthew and All the chosen cast! Blessings to All!
