I earned a lot of respect for Warren when I heard him play in the acoustic line-up with the Allman Bros band. Not only did he contribute a quality additional guitar,..but his vocals were very valuable too! Gregg was getting up in years, and although he had one of the best Blues- Rock voices of all-time! ...in that performance you could tell he needed a little backup! And Warren supplied those back-up vocals flawlessly!
I love how Warren brings up Mofro---an outstanding band with JJ Grey as lead singer. I love excellence in musicians and Warren is one of the best. He's so humble and talented and grateful and seems to be happy and just cool. Love to all, thanks for a great interview.
Brian Farmer ( RIP) was a good friend & I even knew his dad...Allan Woody & myself worked at Belle Mead Music in 84 or 85.maybe.( I'm 65 & foggy) & The Farmer was Johnny Cashs guitar tech & hung out with us..He knew Danny & Frankie Toler also..Small world....Amazing who you meet being from Nashville..He was a good man.🍄
I listen to a lot of music, of all genres. There is no voice that hits me the way Warren's does. So powerful, can't wait to see you again, and again, and again.... It just never gets old. Please don't ever stop.
Great interview of my favorite guitarist, the man in motion, Warren!!! .BTW, Island Exodus IS a blast. Beacon Show...NYE wouldn't miss it for anyone's party. Thanks Warren. The new ( well not new anymore ) record is great. Traveling Tune brings a tear to my eye whenever I hear it...makes me think of Butch, Greg, Farmer, Allan Woody and Famuley friend Michael Bryan and others that have passed. We are all Famuley...I coined that word. . The Waltz Tour was so brilliant. Jamie Johnson...wow. So glad he took it on the road. Whoo hoo. This Wednesday.Mule at the Theater in Westbury and Saturday at the Cap in Port Chester. See you all there.
Possibly the best all round musician out there. Warren if you read these comments please come to Ottawa, ON and play at the National Arts Center or Candian Tire Center. ;)
It was Day 2 of the 3 day concert series set up in Europe. Sorry but he doesn't own his own plane. If you would have sent yours for him to use he would have been there. There are just things that don't work on the World's silly schedule for us all.
i hope greg and dickey had a chance to mend fences they both poured their heart and souls into the band...warren and derek were the shot in the arm the band needed to sustain the groove and the music... i miss butch trucks he was so important and with jaimoe were the anchors...and to other members and techs n crew thank you for the music ...love ya!
I think you missed the point Ridgemont, Warren was gonna make it without Greg! If anything Warren helped The allman Brothers! I suppose Warren could have cancelled a show in Spain and rented a jet to make it to the funeral, but funerals are for the 'living'! So if you don't like Warren Haynes or Gov't mule do like me with Springsteen I don't listen anymore! As with U2 or Bon Jovi or Pearl Jam! I love Warren he is awesome!
I read that they were in touch with each other in the months before Gregg died. Dickey was planning on visiting Gregg but Gregg died before that could happen. So, yes, they did mend fences and I, for one, am happy they did.
Had the honor to meet Gregg and the band backstage at Charlotte and Warren a couple of times when I did some roadie work..great guys..always treat you like family..
Never heard of Q104.3. Left New York just as WNEW was sailing into the sunset and WPLJ was gone. At one time Atlanta had a very good rock station 99x but that's long gone and so it goes. Nothing like second second hand stories. Peace
Wow....Warren Haynes, Micheal McDonald and Jamey Johnson in the same room making music...Could you imagine being a fly on the wall hearing that? Counting the days to the Saturday arrival of Gov't Mule to the King Biscuit Blues Festival here in Arkansas....I WILL BE THERE....
Pity Dickie Betts name didnt get more airplay, considering Betts songs eg Blue sky, Jessica, ramblin man, seven turns, back where it all began, dreams, In memory of Elizabeth Reid, Revival etc were the stand out songs of The Allman Bros
He saved the band. I saw them in 1989 in Philly and was completely floored that he helped bring back the 2 guitar (with SLIDE) glory. Amazing singer as well. Awesome show that even my casual ABB friend was gushing over.
Humility; hu·mil·i·ty:; \ hyü-ˈmi-lə-tē\ :(1) the quality or state of being Humble; (2) Warren Fucking Haynes!!.. This man is unbelievable in many ways, I'll just sit back and take some notes.
Warren ,you couldn't make it? Neither could I . Good song. I can imagine singing this around a campfire while drinking some whiskey and reminiscing about old friends and associates. The cat gives this 5 paws.
dielauwen what do You mean Warren couldn't make it? That man has become a Signature of American Southern Rock and Roll. Warren is so multi talented. He sings and plays Your Soul. He can and does do it all and does it Great! Thank You for Your music and getting all the right guests together. It's always the same but something special and new.
@@williampoole9897 In the interview, Warren says it was heart wrenching that he "couldn't make it" to Gregg's funeral from Spain, not that he couldn't make it in music.
Right on Warren, great song ( thanks for not getting sucked in by these fools on politics ( Im not famous , let “me” have your back thanks for the music , and I consider all “brothers” a brother of mine )! ( there’s you a lyric if you want , happy birthday , haha
Agreed! I can"t stand when some groups or musicians get political. It"s bad enough politics has corrupted sports and just about every aspect of our lives , people go to see concerts too get away from all that crap. If any musician or band i go to see starts preaching about politics or social justice crap , then i am done as a fan for good. That's not what i'm paying to see , especially nowadays with the ridiculous amount you pay for tickets......
audioworker fail. How can you leave this legend naked without a touch of reverb on his vocal? Sounds dry but I love Warren no matter what. Radio stations have no budget for good sound engineers I guess, unless they are working on the transmitter racks
Warren's a good guy but he can be moody, he can be a not so nice guy at times, but I am a big fan of Warren's music, Allen Woody on the other hand was always nice
That was my impression of him too. Dickie Betts introduced Gentleman Warren Haynes. One doesn't sing and play with his intenisty and integrity without some angst. Believe me it takes one to know one. I would love to play with Warren one day.
Its not just that its on vinyl, Its also a reference to recording on a 2" wide tape machine , like ampex, which captures sound and tone very different than digital. Maybe this will help some understand.
Not too mention how great album covers can be. The digital options are usually more convenient, but for sitting and listening at home...I'll take an album any day.
Warren and Derek came along at the most needed time to keep the ABB on the front lines another 15 or more years. Thank You both.
The band was more than fine when Dickey & Warren were both in it!
Warren was my next door neighbor in NYC back in the early 90s... I still remember the first night we met in the elevator at 5AM. Great guy! :)
I earned a lot of respect for Warren when I heard him play in the acoustic line-up with the Allman Bros band. Not only did he contribute a quality additional guitar,..but his vocals were very valuable too!

I'm glad the Allman Brothers brand lives on through the tedeshi trucks and gov mule!

Dedicated to Butchie !! I love it !! God bless you Warren. Sending you love.
Hello Suzanne,
how are you doing?
Thanks for your love, support and for being an amazing fan! ❤️
It's nice meeting you here
One of my most favorite musicians of all time, hes just an amazing talent. I think hes seriously underrated as a singer and guitar player
Hello Candice,
how are you doing?
Thanks for your love, support and for being an amazing fan! ❤️
It's nice meeting you here
23yrs old now! Wow time flies! Warren and Government Mule are awesome, hope they keep jamming years from now!
Oh man, what a legend he is! The life he has had and is having now, and what stories he tells! Keep trucking on Warren!
Im lucky enough to have seen Warren and Govt Mule a few times, they are incredible live. Cool guy and a hell of a song writer, singer, guitarist.

Theres only one Gregg Allman, R.I.P. and thanks for all the years of epic music
Warren is an unbelievable guitar player. So much soul!
Must have been tough for Warren to talk on the radio about two friends who have passed. As always, he handle it with class and grace.
Yep. He was close with Gregg and Alan, both. They're both missed BIG TIME. Butch, too.
Saw the original mule (Warren, Allen and Matt) at Buddy Guy's Legends in Chicago. A juggernaut. Highly respected.
i really enjoyed listening to warren here

Warren is cool people.
Warren, Derek learned what to do and what not to do from the best!
Possibly the best all round musician out there. Warren if you read these comments please come to Ottawa, ON and play at the National Arts Center or Candian Tire Center. ;)
Warren is a class act !
A Class act that couldn't show up for the funeral for Greg Allman. Warren is F embarrassment - no excuse after all Greg did for his career. f Warren

I'd think ANY bus with Gregg would be the fun bus. ;-)
They smoked bales of weed! And, the bar was in the fun bus!
Beautiful Traveling tune!
Had the honor to meet Gregg and the band backstage at Charlotte and Warren a couple of times when I did some roadie work..great guys..always treat you like family..
Seen allman bros. In 2003 with Suzanne tedeschi, sat and talked to warren haynes and didnt know who he was until the concert started
Lucky you brother!

The Man !! No Doubt !!
How can the audio be so bad on this radio station interview ? I've got both volumes up all the way.
No Shit!
i got pc volume up, youtube up and tv up all 100 percent, still barely hear it.
Ya
I was thinking the same thing ...I could not hear crap !!!
I'm trying to listen right now it's terrible 😂
Warren Forever!!!!!
Love this Tune!! '
Just Beautiful..!👍🏼❤️
Met Warren a couple of time, & Allen. Great ppl. Warren was a very nice accommodating guy. We had a mutual friend ..rip John & Allen.
Pity Dickie Betts name didnt get more airplay, considering Betts songs eg Blue sky, Jessica, ramblin man, seven turns, back where it all began, dreams, In memory of Elizabeth Reid, Revival etc were the stand out songs of The Allman Bros
Thanks , that was enjoyable. Government Mule and The Avett Brothers were my last live concert. Helluva night !
The best line up after Duane Allman was with Warren Haynes
He saved the band. I saw them in 1989 in Philly and was completely floored that he helped bring back the 2 guitar (with SLIDE) glory. Amazing singer as well. Awesome show that even my casual ABB friend was gushing over.

"... hangin' out with the great Warren Haynes in the studio with us. How are you, man?" - "Great."
Warren is my man too
Gov't Mulle
Love this!
album is called gatefold
I feel like I'm at a fucking tennis match!

OMG can u imagine being on the fun bus with Gregg mmmmm
Sco Mule = Kind of Bird ( alt version) is just a groove baby..Yea.🍄😜
I wished I could hear warren Haynes voice in this interview.
…yes, very low volume in my ear bud
warren did you still have holly bowling play when you do shows at the beacon
Rip Gregory and Butchie!
I miss Farmer

Who was the ONE that put thumbs down ... 😳🤔😲😁😆😄😃😅😂🤣
Where the hell is the volume? I can't hear this, and it was important to me
The interviewer needs to decrease a bit and allow the interviewee to increase.
Warren you need to find some young blood to share with. Continue the legacy dude
Marcus King Band
That camera work was making me dizzy. I had to stop watching. Sounds really low too. too bad. I really wanted to hear what Warren Haynes had to say.
Well, that's why I hung in, I wanted to hear what he had to say and sing. Granted, it was way too low.
It's very loud on my home PC.
Audio is soooooo LOW can hardly hear it
Warren and Gov’t Mule are #1.
yeah, right, "that was the fun bus", as if everyone on the other buses was studying algebra and learning French, LOL!!!
Volume level, not good!
audioworker fail. How can you leave this legend naked without a touch of reverb on his vocal? Sounds dry but I love Warren no matter what. Radio stations have no budget for good sound engineers I guess, unless they are working on the transmitter racks
Why don't you edit this post to improve the audio; I'm not stickin' around for this.....
Sub Pop sticker.
Get him some preparation H.......
Couldn't have two cameras? My head is spinning and wish I had a hearing aid. If Warren wasn't so interesting, I would have turned away.
editing would be nice
can not hear
Warren's a good guy but he can be moody, he can be a not so nice guy at times, but I am a big fan of Warren's music, Allen Woody on the other hand was always nice

Vinyl? Why? Why?
Richard Gray some say vinyl has a warmer, richer tone.
+chpalmtree
I ain't no audiophile, so I'll stick with digital. There's got to be some kinda warmer-richer filter for those who want that.
If you need it explained, you'll never understand.
my dog can't hear this.
It would be cool if i could hear it. What a shame.
What is it with interviewers that have to interrupt or finish the sentences of those whom they are interviewing? So many do that. Frustrating.
Man! The transcript of Warren’s song is horrible. Someone please go back and patch it up. That said, Travelin’ Tune is a very sweet memorial.
The "cool" DJ cut Warren off when he was trying to talk about Bryan Farmer. Wow.
DJs always talk more than the person they're interviewing. Shut up Dude!
Commercial rock stations SUCK. Play list of 4 min. songs OVER and OVER.
Left the vid...........audio sucks
