It's the tone of this dudes voice. I used to play with sax players that would add an airy tone along with their natural sax sound somehow. He does it with his voice. Sounds cool.

But with you buddy, when you play this, I can tell you are doing something more than playing! Just as Jimi did, you're feeling the music! And I think that simple thing but hard to obtain, brings more to the table than just skill
