    • @LisaCrosbie
      @LisaCrosbie  9 месяцев назад +1

      That's the logical path, but not everyone needs to do all of them. PL-100 is for low code makers and PL-400 is for pro developers, so not everyone would want to do both of those.

    I completed my PL-500. Will take PL-900 to understand the whole picture of power platform.
    Then may be PL-300.
    Unfortunately I don't have chance to use power app...
    It seems power app is the main character of the platform😅

    • @LisaCrosbie
      @LisaCrosbie  Год назад

      Yes 500 and 300 are specialised areas of the platform, 100,200,600 you will need hands on experience with all parts of the platform, Dataverse and Power Apps make up a big part of that. If you’re not using or learning Power Apps those certifications may not be what you need. Good luck.

    What about PL 500 ? Doesn't this certification fall under power platform certifications ? Where does it fit in the sequence ?

    • @LisaCrosbie
      @LisaCrosbie  Год назад

      300, 400, and 500 are all specialist exams at an intermediate/advanced level on specific ares of the platform. They don’t quite fit the sequence, think of them more as specialist topics you can add alongside them.

      You can either do PL-100 or if you are a dev PL-400 might be a better one for you to do next. 3-4 months is plenty of time if you are putting the work in. Good luck.

    Thanks Lisa. Great content. Are there any sample exams available as a resource? Also, does the exam have negative marking? 😔

    • @LisaCrosbie
      @LisaCrosbie  3 года назад

      There is no negative marketing, so you can safely have a guess at any questions you're not sure of the answer to. You can purchase official practice tests for some exams here - au.mindhub.com/search?query=power+platform&categoryId=11281 Don't use the (illegal) brain dumps that are around though.

  • @alanwaldron8837

    Great video Lisa - for questions that expect two correct answers, if you only get one of the answers correct do you still get a point for that or will the whole question be marked as incorrect? (relating to PL-900 exam)

    • @LisaCrosbie
      @LisaCrosbie  3 года назад +1

      You never see the exact grading per question, but the way the question is worded, where it says something like "each correct answer is worth x points" my understanding is that you would get a point for what you get correct even if you don't get all the correct options selected.

    Hey Lisa, I recently got my PL-900 cert and I want to get to the next level, getting the certs for PL-100 PL-200 and PL-300.
    I understand PL-300 is not a sequence from PL100 and 200, but I'd like your opinion on if should I go for PL-100, and PL-200 and next PL-300 or if I should go for PL-100 than PL-300 and later PL-200.
    My question acctualy is, do the PL-300 will give me more knowledge and experience for the PL-200? hence I should do it before the PL-200

    • @LisaCrosbie
      @LisaCrosbie  2 года назад

      No, they don't work in a sequence that you need to do them in a certain order. PL-200 is the main and most important one if you want to be a consultant. PL-100 is designed for anyone who wants to be a maker (which may be as part of another role). PL-300 is Power BI which is a whole other topic altogether. Focus on what you are most interested in or what matches your career or desired career path.

    Dear,
    I hope this message finds you in good health. I am writing to inquire about the possibility of taking the PL 100 and PL 400 certifications without incurring any cost.
    As a Power Platform Enthusiast, I have recently completed the PL 900 (Power Platform Fundamentals) certification and I am eager to further expand my knowledge and expertise in this field. However, the fees for the PL 100 and PL 400 certifications are quite high and I was wondering if there is any way I can attempt these certifications for free or have the fees waived.

      The best thing is to look out for Cloud Skills Challenges at major events like Ignite, sometimes they offer exam vouchers, although I haven't seen this as much recently, and usually they are just for the 900 level exams.

      PL-900 you could get across all the content pretty quickly, perhaps a full day of study. PL-100 you will need a decent amount of hands on experience on all the power platform components and PL-400 you need to be able to write code. Good luck!

      You can do the PL-600 solution architect exam without any others but if you want the expert certification that goes with it you need to also have the functional consultant or developer certification. docs.microsoft.com/en-us/learn/certifications/power-platform-solution-architect-expert/

    How much overlap is there between PL-200 and PL-100? I have an Whizlabs account and they only have a course for PL-200, however, I would like to sit the PL-100 exam.

    • @LisaCrosbie
      @LisaCrosbie  2 года назад

      Some overlap but not a lot. PL-100 is much more about the maker experience across all the components of Power Platform, whereas PL-200 gets more "under the hood". You wouldn't pass PL-100 just by studying PL-200, it's different content, not an easier version of the same content.

    I just passed my PL-900 this morning and my employer wants me to eventually get to Power Platform Solution Architect Expert (PL-600). As a senior .NET developer should I start with PL-200 or PL-400? Or do you recommend doing both? Also, how important is PL-100?

    • @LisaCrosbie
      @LisaCrosbie  3 года назад +1

      PL-600 covers a much broader range of knowledge than the lower level exams, and includes some Azure. It also requires you to be able to solve more complex case studies. I think PL-100 and PL-200 are good preparation in building your knowledge. PL-400 sits a little outside that - your background as a developer will help with that one. But PL-600 doesn't include any dev/coding.

    is the pl-200 material path near pl 100, so can I study pl-200 directly?

    • @LisaCrosbie
      @LisaCrosbie  2 года назад

      There is a little bit of overlap but they are quite different. You don't need to do 100 to do 200. If 200 is the certification you want, I'd just go straight to that study and learning path.

    Hello there, should I take MB-901 first or PL-200 first ?

    • @LisaCrosbie
      @LisaCrosbie  2 года назад

      They are really very different so it depends on what you want to achieve. MB-901 is an entry level exam which is about describing the business value of Dynamics 365. You don't need much or any hands on experience. That's a great exam if you want to get started with understanding what Dynamics 365 is and how it's used. PL-200 is an exam designed for people who are consultants or do a lot of building of apps and solutions. It's very in depth, would take days/weeks to get across. But that's what you need to work towards if you want that skill or want to do that kind of work. If you're starting as a beginner, then I'd do the 900 series first to get the foundations and then work up. Hope that helps.

      @@LisaCrosbie Thanks for the reply Lisa, so to start it is better to get the MB-910 (CRM) then move to the PL-200 ? I just read that there is no more MB-901.
