I honestly cannot decide which ones I like most after watching the video back a few times... the new 2020 excals were so good but then the platinums happened and then the growlers... this is a tough one. I’ll leave it up to you guys :)

I have been shooting fireworks and doing amature shows for neighborhood since I was 13. I'm now 39 but I have been buying Excalibur for years I love them. Good take off sound and good air explosion and very nice spread. I love fireworks

@@chastblind7606any mortars and 200-300g cakes, bought from some wholesale place, are the best price/fun ratio because they're shipped cheaper for the amount of boom. You can make your own NOABs with thr mortars and some time/fuse for like $25-40 versus $90-200 depending on where you'd buy it

The Growler and Jaw Breaker 5 inch shells are both mighty hard to beat. Both have huge breaks, vivid colors and hit like Mike Tyson in his prime.
Any 5" shells are gonna be impressive but I might have to side with the Platinums too.

I just bought the Excaliber Platinum and Big X shells. Definitely impressed with the sound and breaks on the Platinum. The one firework I'm really hoping you'll do a review on is called RAIN GOD. It's literally a box with a bunch of rockets in it that all pretty much go off within a split second of each other

Your channel has been a tremendous help for me buying fireworks this year. I was able to pick up two packs of Excal platinums for $130 in boom city Washington near the Muckleshoot Casino. I also picked up the Nishiru 5” cans, a pack of last years Excalibur’s, a half dozen 500 gram cakes and a garbage bag full of novelties for the kids. I spent about twice the budget of previous years but that’s because all the professional shows have been cancelled due to the current pandemic. We will stay home and create our own show to enjoy. So I did this test myself the Excalibur platinum is the loudest of the 3 and has the biggest breaks
Lol the sound of running away after lighting em! Classic. That's one of the most fun parts. It's like an adrenaline rush for a sec, running back to turn around and see them launch out. I've been buying excaliburs since the early 2000s, and they've always been my favorite, and a party pleaser.
Ya better run cause you can't hide when the fuse ignites.
I've used all 3 packs I wasn't disappointed with any of them either but the growlers do have a lot more boom factor...

Conclusion excalibur is good bang for money, excals platinum are the best overall for loudness and color, but if you just want to piss off your neighbors growler is it.

thats why I love shells you dont have to light them all at once. Also assortments are a good bang for your buck. I've heard Growler is best if you want the noise, while the Platinums are best if you want the break size. A lot of people are indifferent towards one or the other, so it works well.
Your video honestly changed my opinion on the new kits. I thought the Platinums were just a re-boxed or re-wrapped scam of some sort and that the Growlers were grossly overhyped. I actually want a kit of either if not both next year after watching this! Thanks for the great comparison!
Even with the slightly smaller breaks, the regular excal’s have better effects IMO. The growlers didn’t have much for effects but were SUPER colorful... probably the most colorful I’ve seen.

Excal was my go to, but after seeing growler that was a sweet sight to see.

I'm spending almost 1,200 this year (2021) really expensive this year because of a shortage. I bought 300 dollars yesterday and it doesn't look I bought hardly anything. But there's nothing better than fireworks and family. Have a Blessed one my friend. Recommendation for a good shell the Black Widows are really good..

If you want to know by the boom, there is a decibel test video on RUclips for these exact 3. I have all of these three this year as well as last year. In my opinion the loudest and ones you feel in order are. Growler #1 loudest, Shooter by cutting edge fireworks #2 and Excalibur Platinum #3 lastly Excalibur standard. All are the best out there and all are loud but the growler has a noticably louder report literally tied with shooter.

I spent six grand on these three brands this year, I also got 8”, 10”, and 12” inch shells I had to get a permit for. But I had 109 tubes and my show lasted two hours. Go big or go home right, I love giving everyone a show. And scare the heck out of them. Lol happy new years

Anchor them! Add 4’ pieces of wood to make a good base! If they flip, you’re fucked! Plus the HPVE tubes will take the explosion if they pop in the tube, but they could warp, which could split the crate, which could lead to tubes falling and shooting product all over the place! Be safe people
we use to use our pvc rod holders to launch shells when i was a kid, they’re like 3’ tall so it’d launch the shells wayyyy higher than the standard tubes. was cool to look down the beach and see everyone’s busting at about the same height then randomly see one twice as high as the rest. lol

Yes, and the breaks are wider but more diluted. Excal Platinums are better.
Definitely harder to compare through video when it's multiple shots, but those last two stragglers you lit at the very end definitely showed the Growler breaking a lot sooner/lower than that Platinum, and it made a noticeable difference to me as far as which seemed "louder" in sound and sight. Awesome vid as usual

I have used the Excalibur 3 times a few years ago. One year even had the cops called. They said someone had called saying someone was shooting a cannon. They were so loud, but worth it.

This is probably a stupid question but what kind of torch do you use to light your fireworks? I used a butane torch cigar lighter last year and it worked so much better than just my regular zippo but sometimes it would struggle. I bought about $400 more fireworks than I did last year and I don't want to constantly fight with a lighter not lighting or running out of butane.

@@cruss2032 All depends on where you shop, tents are a scam. Try to find a dedicated shop. I work in a dedicated shop that's been around 30+ years. We tend to get cheaper prices because of good relationships with our supplier companies that allow us to drive our prices down. We also have a massive fan base in our town and surrounding. Currently with the 4th approaching we have 100+ employees working everything from register/sales/stock. It's worth some looking into to get the best prices even if it is a little bit of a drive.
@@cruss2032 Oh shit man, they're usually our 'on sale' artillery for $30 a box. It's pretty different everywhere. It's hard to tell. The most expensive I've seen that we've sold in the last decade have been Death Shells by Dynomite Fireworks. Those things are insane and we still sold them for maybe $80 a box.

Here is a secret.If it's a 4 inch, 5 inch or 6 inch they all still have 60grams which is the max amount.

How do you think these compare to the Death Shells you demonstrated? They were probably the brightest and loudest shells I've ever seen! Having difficulty finding them on the east coast.

Platinum they have more grams and a bigger break in my opinion, I got some lock and loaded last year they were alright but this year I got platinum’s and they were wayy better in my opinion 👍🏼💥

The original Excalibur shell kit is bad ass I been getting them for quite a few years now I definitely want to try the Excalibur Platinum and The Growler kits
I did all 3 this year and like you said not a bad shell in the bunch. I found personally that the Growler's and the Platinum's had the same boom, but the Platinum's were breaking much bigger. 🤷♂️ definitely never let down from World Class and will be buying all of them again.
Watching your videos Cody is getting me amped up for Fireworks shopping. Just a week to go until firework stores open, but for the past few months I've been working on some new Cakes and Mortars & did some testing last night and all I can say is this season is gonna be off the hook and between my friends 1.3G fireworks and the ones I custom made, his are like 1.4G fireworks. Haha. The best hobby I ever got into.

Honestly glad growler took the W excalibur has sat at the top of world class canister shells for years and have finally been dethroned. The 5 inch Dictator shells by Magnus were louder than all three of these but the trauma shells by Selva's are the best consumer shells I've ever seen or heard.

Yes, the Growlers break lower and have larger but more diluted breaks. They sound louder. But Excalibur Platinums go higher, are louder, and have colorful undiluted breaks.

Paid $60 for the 2020 Excalibur at the Muckleshoot Indian Reservation in Western Washington.. Nobody had them and were sold out every stand I looked. I saw few people holding the boxes of excalibur. Someone yelled if they had any left, the lady that worked in the stand manage to find an extra box in storage and grabbed my box before they sold out again. I saw one Platinum Excalibur going for $100 but it was already sold, the only one I saw.. No luck on the growlers, I do my shopping on the 4th and get crazy deals waiting for the stands to shut down..
