Never have I enjoyed a Japan video more than this one! I am leaving in 20 days October 10th 2023 for Tokyo and then on to Osaka to see more best friend of 22 years who was an exchange student at my highschool. I was so delighted to see that this island didn't beside Osaka! Definitely adding this to my itinerary! Thank you so much for sharing. And I am also impressed that the places are vegan! I am vegetarian. Can't wait to see this place.
For merch, I'm similar to you I think, I like clear files (I used to also collect pencil boards but those aren't as common these days), or postcards/mini art boards. That way I can have a collection without taking up a ton of room and they usually have really pretty art! Some acrylic stands are nice too, but I know they get pricy.
I will definitely be adding Awaji Island to a future trip plan, it looks like a nice place to check out Hello Kitty and then chill! :)

My favorites are the zippered totebags with cute inner prints and the steel cups/mugs (since the logistics of bringing home the ceramic and glass ones would stress me out the whole return trip home, specially since most international airports outside Japan just toss check-in luggage).
Clear files, character pens and magnets - stuff I can use constantly while working so I get inspired to save-up to return to the happy place sooner. ☺

Hi hun. Found your video awesome. I'm a long time hello kitty fan for 40+ years. I lived in Japan 30 years ago and working toward moving back. I have a few questions...
1 - is Awaji near Kyushu? If not then what is the closest popular location nar it.
2 - is there a link to the hotel you stayed in so I can make arrangements?

I wish you would of went through the merchandise after the show you watched instead of the merch at the beginning of the video. All those rhinestones were so mesmerising
❤ how do you handle your suitcases? I am thinking to check in first at 3pm then go explore the island but then next day I would have to check out by 11am😅. Do you think the hotel would help to keep my suitcases till I leave the island in the later afternoon on my 2nd day? Or do you recommend me store my big suitcases in Osaka? After watch your clip, I am ready to go now!
