    You left the bottom grate out of the twig stove. It’s my first time seeing your channel. Very cool to see an outdoors woman. You are what many a young man dreams of. Adventurous, confident, capable, physically fit, naturally attractive, articulate and intelligent in a non-indoctrinated manner. I checked out your other content and see some amazing accomplishments. I’ll be watching more after I finish this one. The twig stoves are designed to utilize that bottom grate. It helps hold them together and you can also move them more easily with a fire burning, though there’s seldom a reason to. You are quite a special young lady. Much respect to whomever raised you.

    Was, well guess I still am, an Eagle Scout. My son is a Senior in HS and will finish his Eagle Scout soon. Both of us love camping. Two years ago we back packed 12 days at 12,500 feet for 73 miles. Love the outdoors. Hope you are well. Your friend in VA.

    I came across this video by accident last week, but it interested me enough to watch most all of your other videos. I am finding them very entertaining. From the introduction, it sounds like you had a somewhat different upbringing than most of us and it seems for the better. You certainly know the value of hard work and really enjoy the outdoors. You also have a certain fearless quality as evidence by the video of you working on building the roof of the one house. And you have a certain MacGyveresque quality about you when necessary (not sure if you are familiar with the TV show). Not being inundated with social media for most of your life so far is not great loss. In your intro piece on some videos, you mention that you never went to public school. I am guessing (could be wrong) that perhaps you were home schooled. Keep up the great work and cool videos. But be careful not to burn yourself out being a RUclipsr. I have seen other influencers on YT have to take time off because the demands eventually overwhelmed them. Take your time and release videos when you are able - your true fans will stand by you.

    I live in the Smoky mountains in TN. Iwas wounded in iraq and moved back in the mountains. Im not as fast or strong as i used to be but. Giving up on modern life and living off grid and as close to nature as i could get saved my life, i love the mountains more than anything, good to know there are still good people out there. Keep on keeping on and I'll keep watching. Ron

    Coolio.
    Anyone that plays outdoors should practice these fun outings in a "controlled" setting. And for crying out loud, whether ya drive in the woods or walk in the woods...carry some basic necessities with you!
    Here where I live, stones from the creek can steam and explode...so careful. If ya have the time, energy and forest litter available, consider making 2 shelters. Depends on situation, right.
    In a "survival" situation any and all basic comforts are great for morale and overall success. Hopelessness is a killer.
    Remember woodcraft is not just an "indian" thing. People have been surviving on all lands for many many years and just because we now live in a pseudo reality...take pride that, you are stronger than you realize.
    Anywho, loved the vid. Love seeing young adults that still have the old world in them.
    Keep up the good work and thnx for the entertainment

    I love survival/shelter videos.. Especially ones that talk...
    This video is excellent for teaching people what to do if you get stuck out in the middle of nowhere with nothing but knowledge of how to survive.
    But if you are really going out with a plan on what to take with you
    I would pack a few tarps and blankets
    Have you done any videos on what should be a well equipped travel pack?

    Don’t play with snakes in a survival situation unless it’s going to be dinner.

    Non venomous snakes are usually doppelgängers of venomous snakes.

    ... Great Intro ... Good job on the debris shelter .. Only downside is common to have insects ,I.E. ,, creepy crawly bugs , ants , ticks and spiders .... With a little experience ,,which I'm sure you have ,, and a reasonably well equipped day pack ,, I'm sure you could easily be comfortable for a few days/nights if needed ... Agree ,, depending on season and conditions , fire ,, water and shelter are priority ... Stay Safe ...
    ... Best not to handle Toads ,, the glands on the back bumps secrete defense fluids that produce salmonella , a bacteria that can cause issues you don't want to deal with ... probably what caused the dog to froth ...

    when I was a kid in NovaScotia, there was a retired wartime airstrip. I used to go hunting snakes in the drainage culverts.. garter snakes in all colors.. The striped orange/yellow were very aggressive.. I read somewhere, some can be mildly venomous.. not sure thats true.. How warm did the shelter get with the stick fire?

    i've done exactly this. its not the funnest or most comfortable, that is until you fall asleep. and it's amazing how much energy living like this gives you. but not for full time ofc. you do hear the creepy crawlies near you all night. they're attracted more to your heat than you and are smart enough to no bother you, so generally don't bother them. but you get used to it and fall asleep. no, you don't have to worry about stuff crawling inside you (ears nose mouth etc). though the most uncomfortable will have ear plugs or whatever.

Personally I would have chosen the hill behind you. Neat little fireplace. What did you do with the couple gear bags outside? And the Archery Kit?

  • @BigIronTexas
    @BigIronTexas 18 дней назад +6

    I don't want to make this content creator thing seem ridiculously overcomplicated but I have one small suggestion.
    This video dropped at like 5am central standard time and probably not too many folks catching vids at that time, which makes RUclips think it's not a popular video so it languishes in the algorithm.
    If you look at your analytics and see where the largest concentration of your viewers are watching from you can schedule your video to drop in the early evening of that time zone. That'll give you more initial views which will improve your ranking in the algorithm.
    Not a big deal, just food for thought.

    • @JusBidniss
      @JusBidniss 9 дней назад +2

      That's so rare as to almost be an urban legend. Perhaps if you pull them from the actual running water and immediately slam them into a 5-alarm roaring fire, you might manage to heat them up so quickly as to make one crack open. But as someone who has tried to make it happen in multiple tests, plus looked up a few videos of people doing the same, it's pretty hard to achieve. The fire usually heats up the rocks slowly enough to steam away any moisture slowly. The 'explosions' (or fast cracking) occurs when the steam cannot escape fast enough, and fractures the stone along its weaker lines. You might find the one in a million that has an actual sealed pocket of water, where the only escape for the steam is a slow soaking through sedimentary rock, and the steam pressure can push it open fast. But that's a pretty specific confluence of 'perfect storm' circumstances.

    • @RS4393

      Normally there's nothing to worry about aa long as it's a small fire and the flames aren't actually touching the rocks.
