Thank you for this. It's very helpful I'm grooming a friends BT this week and never hand stripped. May I ask please is it a special comb you are using? Thank you.
I would not be happy if I said I hand stripped and all the time you have used a comb, she doesn't seem quite ready either some of coat hadn't blown, also agree with bath never bath straight after stripping. This isn't a kind way poor dog😳
I am sorry but you should never bath a BT after a strip. The pores of the hair folicles are open and you can cause massive infection. This goes for all strip breeds. I am horrified you did this and the general public who are unaware of this fact are going to approve what you are doing. I read down that this BT was neutred so the hair texture could be different. I never use a stripping comb I use my fingers and a rubber glove or sometimes down the neck a Scholl blue pumice stone. I do not see that a stripping comb is gentle grooming it is just easier for you. Hand strip means hand strip and only the fingers can feel the resistance of the BT. The penal hair and inner thighs of course are trimmed. How stupid is the general public? Better they get another breed.
Unfortunately you used clippers, scissors and thinning scissors on a groom/breed you are not supposed to... Over time the coat will grow thicker and longer. Clippers should not of been used at all. apart from that, the actual stripping itself was good
Hi there , yes I do no this , but this isn't a show dog he is a pet and I don't particularly like to strip out groin areas it isn't very nice for them at all and as stated on description I put (pet) not show and he hasn't got a great coat as he's been neutered and nippy 😊.
Gentle Grooming you should of specified he was neutered then I would of understood. I wasn't trying to discredit your grooming or your ability in the slightest (just so you know). keep up the good work anyway, many don't have the guts to make videos
+euro_mod bora Thank you , yes it's quite scary lol the day after I posted I had the perfect border in but forgot my camera 🙄never mind , but the spring is coming and so will all the hand strip dog lol my poor hands . But thank you for commenting as now I know I need to put more information on the description 😜
Gentle Grooming I guess a little criticism doesn't hurt 😜 typical ey... cameras never there when you need it lol. Oh yeah I'm looking forward to the hundreds of strips this spring/summer 😑 you never know, if you ever go to any competitions you may see me 😊
Is the dog crying? Is it trying to get away? Is it even acknowledging what's going on? No it's not Because it doesn't hurt them at all. The hair was loose already which is why it comes out so easily, but it doesn't all fall off on its own and it could be damaging if not taken out. And no this dog isn't trained to just take the "pain" it doesn't work that way. If they dog didn't like it they would put up a fight. So please do your research before commenting ignorantly.
Wire hair (like border terriers have) isn't attached to the skin in the same way that a regular coat is. It comes out much easer. When done properly, hand stripping isn't painful. It's important to strip them as just clipping them does not remove the old coat, it simply makes it shorter. Over time clipping increases the risk of skin infections and damages the coat's texture, usually irreparably. One reason why a wire haired dog may require clipping is if they've been neutered as the hormonal changes cause the coat to become thick and soft. Which makes it unsuitable for stripping and may cause pain.
Hi - thanks for sharing your video. can you tell me which nail clipper you used please?
Perfect. Thank you for this video❤

The music is very distracting for a serious instructive video intended for adults.
when I looked up dog stripping I expected something else!
Very nice job (but suggest you skip the bath to avoid infections)
Looks painful for the poor dog!
Poor dog looks in pain
Lip smacking, yawning...all signs the dog isn't enjoying this :-(

Why do people think you want to listen to supermarket music???? Wasted upload, Ditch the music and talk ffs
YELPING AND PULLING AWAY DOES NOT SIGNIFY "GENTLE GROOMING". YOU SHOULD BE BANNED FROM HAVING DOGS.
Had to switch off due to AWFUL music
