    The Backstage Rage villain actually genuinely scared me as a kid and the fact that you don’t see him for a lot of the episode added to the mystery. I’ll admit when I was younger I didn’t understand the counterfeit plot as well but now I do

    My top 10:
    While this one isn't on my list, I want to give it an honorable mention. That Snow Ghost - (the episode feels longer, because they use the environment right; it's like a cold and long winter) Also, Velma is legitimately in a dangerous situation.
    Now for my list in no particular order:
    Hassle In The Castle (creepy, fun, just some goofy stuff happens that makes it entertaining. Plus, I love the phantom laugh)
    Bedlam In The Big Top (I kind of like the dangerous things he makes the gang do while under hypnosis, especially Shaggy. This episode kind of does well with showing them in peril.)
    Haunted House Hang Up (I agree about this episode feeling a bit short for some reason. I actually like that there isn't as much comedy in this one -- it adds to the spooky factor)
    A Clue For Scooby Doo (I don't know, I like Capt. Cutler, but yes, we could've seen him more. He was still creepy though)
    Jeepers It's The Creeper (I love this episode, because there's so much going on. I like the final chase scene -- Velma kicks the creep, Freddy falls and trips the creeper, then it just goes bonkers from there. There's just a lot of action. Also, I like the farm dance scene, because you see the gang actually being teenagers. Also, I don't know, the baby chick is kind of cool. Also, I think it's the only episode where someone gets knocked out)
    Kooky Space Kook (I like the atmosphere in this episode. While it's not entirely creepy, it does well with capturing a certain sense of old sci-fi action)
    Foul Play At Funland (Charlie, enough said)
    What The Hex Going On (the ghost looks stupid, but I also like what he is presumed to do to his victims. Also, there are some creepy scenes in here (seeing Stuart "dead", the beginning scene where he's walking to the mausoleum)
    A Night Of Fright Is No Delight (this episode is legitimately creepy, especially the lawyer, the ghosts, and the atmosphere. Also, it's kind of funny in some parts -- Shaggy Velma and Scooby with the whole drainpipe thing)
    What A Night For A Knight (they were learning the formula, but I like that rawness of this episode. The knight is creepy in the museum scenes)

      Totally agree with you slasher. As I’m sure you saw with the video, I pretty much have the same feelings on every episode. I’m curious though, what are your thoughts on the Backstage Rage?

    • @AustinTXSlasher
      @AustinTXSlasher 3 года назад +1

      @@Zoinksss, that episode always lost me for some reason. I love the creepy elements that go along with it, but as you also stated, it's kind of easy to figure out who it is. It's like it's wrapped up in a package to neatly in the end -- too neatly. It's still not bad though, but it isn't one of my favorites at all. I think more could've been done with it.

    • @Zoinksss
      @Zoinksss  3 года назад

      That’s understandable, that’s kind of the same way I feel about Spooky Space Kook. Other than the monster, nothing else stands out to me from that episode

      @@Zoinksss, I think my thing about kooky space kook is the alien aspect. I always liked old alien stuff. I just watched The Backstage Rage again, and yeah, I'm still feeling the same. Although, the viking puppet was pretty creepy. I also revisited Haunted House Hangup, and there are actually some pretty funny parts. Notably when Scooby full-on faints when they open that weird box with the dummy head in it. I'd forgotten about that part, as well as a few others.

    I am a fan of every episode on the first two seasons, I don't have a least favorite, but I do have favorites,
    1. A clue for Scooby Doo - the setting, the ships graveyard, the villian all just fantastic.
    2. Spooky Space Kook- love the abandoned airfield and the sci fi space feel.
    3. Never Ape an Apeman, "A Shaggy Snack"! Need I say more.
    4. A Night of Fright is no Delight- ever seen House on the Haunted hill, same plot
    5. Mystery Mask mix up- best chase song and scene ever.
    Special mention to What the Hex going on, this episode lost point because the trimmed the story, Sharon went missing and suddenly she was found but no mention of how, just a throw away reference to her being tied up in a room.

    I am so glad you have such a high opinion of Haunted House Hangup because that's my favorite too, especially, as you said, the beginning with his hand holding the candle. That always was such a good way to create an atmosphere. AND also a great chase song...agreed! Other favorites are What the Hex is Going On, Night of Fright is No Delight, and Jeepers, It's the Creeper, mainly for the scene with the Hermit of the Hills. Mystery Mask Mix up probably has my FAVORITE chase song with I Can Make You Happy.

    My favorite episode is To Switch A Witch! I've always loved most anything that's Witch related, though! The ending almost feels like it comes out of no where, with the twin that's never mentioned directly. But! I still love it! And I like the location of "Salem!". Although it must be a different Salem than Salem, MA! Because, among other reasons, no one that was accused of Witchcraft, during the Salem Witch Trials, was burned at the stake. They were all hanged, or, in one case, "pressed.".

    Here are my top 10 picks from Scooby Doo, Where are You?
    10. Mystery Mask Mix Up (ominous music in the beginning, the Zombie henchmen to Master Tuo, and Shaggy and Scooby getting tied up on top of a stack of fireworks)
    9. The Backstage Rage (the puppet master was a real man of mystery)
    8. Nowhere to Hyde (great plot, best Shaggy and Scooby trickery against Mr. Hyde- Shaggy and Scooby playing a clown and his sidekick inside the TV, Mr. Hyde getting a taste of his own medicine by Fred, Daphne, and Velma)
    7. Go Away, Ghost Ship (Red Beard's iconic laugh and scary face)
    6. Spooky Space Kook (the Ghost Craft lands and out walks the creepy skeletal spaceman)
    5. Bedlam at the Big Top (that clown's sinister eyes and seductive trickery. I wonder if he was the inspiration behind the recent remake of the horror film It.)
    4. What the Hex Going On? (Ominous beginning, Elias Kingston had that voice of death calling out)
    3. Jeepers, it's the Creeper! (The Creeper chanting "Paper, Paper!" with that creepy march)
    2. Haunted House Hang Up (Headless Man, plus a flying candle flying towards the gang, traps, and mean Amos)
    1. A Night of Fright is no Delight (Perfect set up for danger, the green, creepy specters, and the ugly men behind the two specters. You can't top this with any of the other episodes in this series)
    My honorable mentions
    1. Scooby's Night with a Frozen Fright (the caveman inside the ice was ugly enough)
    2. Scooby Doo Finds a Clue (Good start to the series, good underwater plot)
    3. Foul Play in Funland (though not quite as creepy, but the robot was funny and he turned out to be a good robot in the end)
    4. Which Witch is Which? (She actually had some good scary moments)
    5.That's Snow Ghost! (Velma was in danger)

    • @jacobstaggs3100
      @jacobstaggs3100 3 года назад +2

      @@Zoinksss First of all, I really like the chase song in that one and I think that the accompanying chase is really creative in it's execution. I thought that the werewolf being green was unique and that it was interesting that without his hair he bared a striking resemblance to an extra terrestrial.
      There was also the bit where Shaggy wiped the window with his hand and you could see the werewolf's eyes through the window.
      Also, they mixed things up by having Shaggy and Scooby be the last ones to see the monster.
      Also, the lack of any suspects makes the werewolf appear as more of a threat.
