Hands down the best overlanding YT channel available, and there are a lot of others that have more subscribers, but there is no comparison to Chris' adventures and photographic skills, plus there is a no BS aspect to this channel, unlike many of the others that are constantly promoting themselves and acting as infomercials.
Chris, I’m looking forward to your cookbook “Glamping cooking with Chris”. It’ll have grilled cheese sandwich, spam sandwich, spicy spam sandwich, peperoni sandwich, spinach and egg sandwich, ham sandwich, turkey sandwich, and burnt sandwich 😂🤪
Living in Atlantic Canada we sometimes don't appreciate the beauty of the land. Thanks for making us all aware of it and sharing it with those who may not get a chance to see it in person. Thanks Chris and enjoy your time in Atlantic Canada especially Newfoundland.
Chris you may have been a bit late starting your hike, however you had some wonderful “blue hour” experiences. Looks like an amazing part of our world to explore... Stay safe out there.
I hope your journey continues to carry you far and wide. The way you capture the scenery is amazing. I am privileged that you allow me along to share in something I would otherwise would probably never see. Thank you.
There are 3 things that are consistent in your weekly videos: a great trail, great campsite, and a great looking coffee shop👍👍👍👍👍. Thanks for another great video
Dude night hiking can be so much fun. Well not if you get into it by accident and unprepared, but if you are up for it then strolling through the forest in the blackest hours of the night is amazing. I've climbed mountains just for the sunset only to make the hike down in the dark, and I've stayed out snowshoeing until 4am, it's worth it every time. Especially on a full moon night when you can turn all your lights off and still see well enough to stay on trail, you end up spooking up all kinds of critters - or yourself. But that's the fun!
Don't forget to hike up thru the Lower Battery, around Signal Hill along the North Head Trail to the top and then down Signal Hill Road back to the Battery. Great place to catch sunrise and sunset by the way. I pretty well grew up on that hill. Oh and don't forget Quidi Vidi Village. And Torbay. And Salmonier Nature Park. And , and , and. So many places to see.
I'm really enjoying these videos, Chris. I'm in the UK and love the fact you have all these amazing trails to explore, very jealous. Safe travels and keep the videos coming.
BREATHTAKING VIEWS ! GORGEOUS SCENERY & COLORS ! LUV THE PUFFINS TOO ! GLAD THE HEADLIGHT IS A SIMPLE FIX EVEN WITH THE NEW WINCH IN THE WAY T0O .THANK YOU ! BE SAFE ! HAVE FUN ! ENJOYED AS ALWAYS ! GOD BE WITH YOU ON YOUR JOURNEYS ! ENJOYED !
Just enjoy your videos my friend. Seems like you have lots of peaceful nights with the places you pick. Always wonderful scenery with every trip you take as well. Keep up all the wonderful videos and stories. Stay safe out there. Squirrel 😊
Thanks Chris for the video's of NF. My trip there was really pretty short (only 2 days for work) but what I saw of the island was beautiful. I am glad that I get to live the experience vicariously through your videos. Keep them coming!
Beautiful Chris. I wish I could spend one of your weeks with you as my guide to Venture beyond my daily work grind. You need to do a Ted talk on living life and experiencing the world we all live in.
I enjoy watching your videos. I hope to do some of the same exploring with my Jeep someday. Looking forward to any video you take on St. John's. I was born there and hope to someday get to go back to visit.
So Chris, I have watched many of interesting trips. So I went back to the first episodes and saw how you started on this life path. I would like to see a video on choices, decisions, life now, and plans to deal with in the future. Money from RUclips can only go so far. I would like to learn , what do you do for medical coverage?, what will you do when you need a new Jeep? and do you ever plan to work again?
Amazing shots!!! TY for showing me. I've worked with a few guys from Newfoundland...very friendly and polite. One told me they like to trade services instead of money.
Hey Chris. Love the videos. I’m from Newfoundland and love seeing the routes you take along the way. Hope the headlight is fixed soon. Couple good places in St. John’s for jeep needs. NL light bars for sure. They’d take good care of you. I live in whitbourne that’s approximately 80 km west of St. John’s. If you need anything look me up. Take care and safe travels
Hi Chris, really love your videos, haven't missed one... Honest, I've watched them all. Just wondering if you have ever thought about doing a "behind the scenes" video where you show us how you take your video i.e. the cameras you use, the camera set ups for your drive bys, etc. and piece it together to make your weekly episodes. that would be very interesting! PS you should really think about hooking up with jeep and marketing your own Jeep over lander set up. I know that would take some work and approval from them, but can you imagine the market. I'm sure there are plenty of folks out there that would love a ready to use "kid tested mother approved" lol overland jeep configured like yours.
Excellent video Chris, I live just outside of St. John’s in the small town of Bay Roberts. If you need a place to recharge, service your Jeep or a good home cook meal just let me know. I also overland and can give you some good spots to take your Jeep. We have an abandoned railway bed that goes from east to west on the island. Cheers
enjoying your travels in Newfoundland; I have lived and work and still own a home on the island; while it has been a few years since I visited. I'm looking forward to seeing your travels as you get closer to St John's.
you are in nfld the proper term is "gravel pit" camping. lol can't wait till next week's show to see how you faired. I am originally from St. John's watch out for moose!!!!
just finished all of your videos, great job with all of them, good job with editing!!! if your ever in Tennessee and need anything just let me know. i am a overlander my self.
I like my regular halogen headlight in my JK. Might not be the brightest but it gets the job done. Plus I keep spares in the glove box so if it burns out no sweat.
I've got ~4 year old trucklite headlights as well. Haven't noticed condensation but do have a light flickering, but not dead yet.. I'm wondering if it's the anti-flicker capacitors that are going -- or in your case, gone? Otherwise, these have been great headlights. Also, that extra fuel system you have is pretty slick! Also, you're making me want to plan a trip to Newfoundland & Labrador sooner than later! You've found some great spots out there!
@@earthangel8730 I think you’re a year late Kar...I mean Debra. Imagine watching a beautiful video just to comment on another humans positive comment 😂
Have to say, Me thinks your moving way too fast around the ROCK. My friend is now on Day 62 of traveling the coastline and I've yet to see something but beauty repeated. Love your show and adventures, yet folks.. There's so much more to be seen! Slow down my friend! I will be going back and next time, like my friend, spend some quality time there.
Great vid. Question have you used your winch yet ? If not you need to take it out all the way and put it back in with 1000 lb tension to keep it working properly once a month

Awesome ...really enjoyed this one!
Some of the nicest people in the world right there in Newfoundland. My entire family are newfy and I wish I could make the trip to see them.
These episodes remind me of my favorite programs on PBS during our local fund raising efforts.
Thanks, Chris...
I really appreciate your cinematography and composition. It would be so easy to just VLOG, but you go the extra mile.
Awesome video and thank you for cleaning up the garbage in our country. Not all Canadians are careless.
Living in Atlantic Canada we sometimes don't appreciate the beauty of the land. Thanks for making us all aware of it and sharing it with those who may not get a chance to see it in person. Thanks Chris and enjoy your time in Atlantic Canada especially Newfoundland.
It’s definitely made me want to visit! ☺️
Chris, your photography in the opening segment was just beautiful. Thank you for lifting my spirit.
I love how the jeep wiggles on those big soft tires.
Chris you may have been a bit late starting your hike, however you had some wonderful “blue hour” experiences. Looks like an amazing part of our world to explore...

We're in on st. Berton island right now Aug. 31 just left st.john on ferry to digby yesterday.
I went up to Newfoundland in 1965. One of the prettiest places was bonn bay out from Port Abaska. If you can go there you will not be sorry.
Would love to see you come to Australia and do some travel
Great video Chris as always. I need to put Newfound on my bucket list. Safe travels, cheers

Hiking at night: definitely an adventure! But at least you had enough sense to bring a headlight. It made for some great video content though!

1,2,3,4 - well done, both cadence and the editing
Thanks for doing such great videos. Look forward each week to for the next one! One question what brand and where did you get your brimmed hat?
I was not expecting spam, let alone a spam grilled cheese sandwich! I tip my hat to you good sir!
Looks pretty darned good, too....
Great video, like usual. I agree with @Jesse James; you need a trail dog.
He has a flesh light so he’s covered
Love your vids man! You need a trail dog with ya!

Pretty crazy shit, starting that hike at 7:30............ don’t know how you did it. Nuts bro!!!!!!
My god Newfoundland is incredible. I'm going to have to make my way there one day.....
haha your love of spam is mildly frightening, Chris. lol
Indigestion? The charcoal from the bread should have mitigated any indigestion from that toasted sammich. 🤔 😂

Yeah right he doesn’t off-road that hard
I love your YTC And isITMAZING !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Great vlog episode. At 3:21 minutes you can see a sea bird doing a high dive into the water to catch a fish. Wayyy off in the background.
Great place looks like coastal Ireland or Scotland!!!
it's the same geologically, literally split in two, part became northeast north america the other half north west europe.
@@jdenmark1287 Thanks for the reply.
What years did you attend the VT overland bird watching safari? Perhaps our paths have crossed. Great channel.
I like that part of the country
Great video Chris!
I had the same lights. One died two weeks out of warranty. They seem to have issues. At at $250 each as I recall I decided to try a different brand.
