As a classically trained musician, I don't understand how you can equate the two. One is high art, and one is mass produced entertainment. They serve different purposes with different audiences
October 1974. So it's nearly dark and you're on the run from the Stazi in busy East Berlin streets filled with darting shadowy figures racing in all directions but yours... It goes on and on, and you keep running. This is the music. I normaly balk at absurdist themes, but this is incredible, especially to that nightmare. An even darker and truely more sinister version of 'Run Lola Run' perhaps. Made all the more breathless by Sergei Nakariakov's circular breathing... xxx :-)
At 5:00 - 530 , was that reference to Van Halen's "Explosion", or the riff that Van Halen might have pulled inspiration from? Had the same descending rhythm and scale, and I know in a lot of pieces instrumentalists will write in improvisations to perform. Never imagined someone could, with a trumpet, successfully play a transcription of that song.
You are watching the impossible being done by the greatest living trumpet player. Allen Vizzutti is probably the only other player on the planet who could do this. The late Rafael Mendez could probably do it as well.
Sergei was, as usual, amazing, especially his rotary breathing. The composition, on the other hand, is very busy but very boring and devoid of passion or surprise
Perfect piece for beginners
Oui ou pour s’échauffer
It's not the first time he played it.
Such a superb performance. Sergei is a gift from God.
This is INSANE. and what an incredible piece. I’m not sure who else can play it!
Chris
I also dont know, but to mention a few, like Ruben Simeo, Pacho Flores, Malcolm McNab......and maybe others.

Wooow, this is just crazy, crazy piece...very very difficult, above motto perpetuo
Just Wow!!!
Great playing!!
Wow, that was great fun!
Omg this was superb!! 🤩🤩🤩
Sounds very, very, very good. Brilliant. The percussive break at the 10' mark. The winds around 13'. And the trumpet...
I can play this easily.

Holy crap! It is indeed insane.
Un genio della tromba. Dono di Dio!!

I think Caleb Hudson could do this too.
I loved Mendez, adored Mendez.......he could never even approach this mastery.
Fantastic orchestra too! Well done! Who is playing those super fast notes in his last long pause? Is it on tape only?
Sounds like flute and xylophone
I can’t find it on Spotify someone help me please

I think he can play.
Yes. I'm sure he's had lessons.
breathing circulation !

Flight Of The Bumbletrumpet
How come it's not on deezer, spotify etc ???
The tongue left the chat
Unbelievable ~~@!@
Widmann: New Naivety.
His tongue is stronger than your strongest leg muscle.
Easy
2002 ? Looks more like 2012.
Is this a Bach 37?
He used to play a lot of Courtois equipment. nowadays, he also plays AR Resonance, at least for trumpet
3:35 His circular breathing is barely noticeable.
oh god I fucking hate double tonguing... how does he do this?!
