Old disabled house bound dusty rusty rockhound here: Thank you so much for this opportunity to say hello to our rockhound community while taking part in such a wonderful adventure. I've never hunted a place as amazing as these parts of the Yellowstone.
Enjoyed the video Kate... You're a stronger person than me, getting in that cold water...our winter is 45* on a cold day... Southern to the bone here😂 Our days are in the 80s now. We really enjoyed all the beautiful rocks. Thank you so much for sharing
Such beautiful finds on a beautiful day! And Kava was enjoying herself to the fullest too! Lol! And that limb cast that is in your thumbnail is absolutely gorgeous 😍! Just a great day on the Yellowstone! It was on my bucket list of places I wanted to hound but now I'm too disabled to be able to go out, so your videos really help me to live vicariously through you! Thanks Kate! It was an awesome day❣️
Hi Katie, Hubby & I love rockhounding in Wyoming & Montana. I would probably be out hunting for beautiful agates, wood, jasper & fossils as often as the weather allows. Unfortunately we live upstate N.Y. and the minerals here r nowhere near as diverse as out west! We will be there this summer for 3 weeks & I’m patiently waiting. I love watching your videos(Theo’s & MRM’s also). Thanks to your videos, I can vicariously rockhound & stay ready to explore! Rock on!,😁
worked out fine to rinse off the rocks at home since you showed us them right awaySo lovely to see some Jaspers, gives colors to all the grey rocks we see BEFORE you have rinsed them offLovely as always to walk along the Yellowstone river, nice and sunny. Thank you.
Well, that was awesome those three nice pieces of agates right there in a row. How wonderful could that be a couple nice chunky size agates to cut what is gonna be some pretty stones tumbled at your house I can’t wait to see what you make out of all those.❤❤❤❤
I really enjoyed watching you collect. Thank you for not throwing out the little guys. I'm in a coastal area in the most northern part of California. We find little agates and jasper on the beach. I'm disabled to a certain extent and would love to be in the areas many of you folks with U tube are. My youngest granddaughters love rocks also. Your excitement seems genuine. Thank you
Wonderful, as always. Thank you for getting out there, despite the cold. I hope you can get more in, or go to the prairie. I know when the river rises, it happens fast!
When you cut cabachons, do you stick to the standard shapes or do you get creative and freeform your stones. Many years ago sometimes I used to cut freeform cabs and set them into handcrafted sterling jewelry. Had fun watching you hunt along the Yellowstone. Keep up the hunt!
This is my first time here and I'm loving it, especially since I have some rocks that look just like yours. The rock you're showing at 13:05: What IS that?
Viel gelernt. Danke!

Lisa, I am so glad our adventures can help you get "out." :)
Beautiful finds ✌️🫶😃
Thank you! :)
Awesome hounding and great finds.. I miss the solitude of the Montana rivers, no people, nature at its best!
Thanks for sharing my friend...
I am very spoiled. :)

You sure have the eye for picking out the beautiful rocks even when they are dry!
Thanks! It's awfully fun. :)
Such a wonderful adventure. At 7:30 the two tone rock looks like it could be slabbed into a picture stone.
There are so many dendritic agates on this patch!

So fun out there. Such beautiful rocks ❤❤
It was a great day.
So many of those agates remind me of raw oysters! Ahh you’re in rock heaven❤
Raw oysters!? LOL, are you hungry?
@@KatyDidRocks probably haha
I sing to the rock gods to. You make my rocks look like leavitrite. I love your videos. I love your casual aditude. Sometimes I just wanna see. Thanks
:) I'm glad you enjoyed it!

Christie, it was absolutely beautiful out - just a little cool. :) That's why we have layers!
We hunted a few spots near Billings in October every was covered in silt. Was disappointed. We hope to try again soon.
Yeah, this year was really silty. I think it's likely to be silty again this year, as the melt is apparently quite slow.

Besides the rocks, just love the birds and all the nature sounds, I’m in heaven!!!
ooo a piece of candy, oooo a piece of candy. but with agates
LOL, you're not wrong!

Hey there! Thanks for watching. The rock at 13:05 is Montana Agate - a dendritic agate.
Bigger ones would make beautiful paper weights.
❤❤❤❤😮😊
is jasper tumbleable? and how big d they have to be to fit and polish? i have 2 i think are jasper stones.
It definitely is! It tumbles beautifully.
Where this river ❤
Hello! The Yellowstone River in eastern Montana. :)
Ich möchten nicht dort wohnen :-). Da könnte ich nur noch ein Haus bauen :-) ich schneide meine steine und hölzer nicht auf. Sie sind zu schön. Auch wenn es mich sehr reizt. 😊

The rock at the 1:59 mark looks like a Face gritting its teeth..
If you leave a rock where you found it, thats called a "Katy Didn't".
LOL! I love that.
