I have a question for my fellow makeup lovers/wearers. When I wear a full face of makeup (foundation, concealer, etc.) it looks so nice at first, but as the day goes on, I've been noticing that after only a few hours my face looks like all my skin is peeling off (that's the only way I can think to describe it). Basically my makeup just looks terrible and caky. I only use one layer, I use moisturizer and primer beforehand, and set it with setting powder. (I use Maybelline Fit Me Matte+Poreless if that makes a difference) However, I have yet to buy a setting spray. Could that be the reason why? I don't know what's causing this 😩
Leeann Dunn it could be a lot of things - your foundation might not agree with your primer and not settle into the primer which could make ur face look layery and cakey, or your primer doesn't agree with your skin, or your primer is too silicone-y (silicon based primers usually cause makeup to slip around if you're not careful). Setting spray does help, but if your makeup is slipping and sliding off of your face it won't do much to help that. You could try powdering your face before foundation, that's a trick some makeup artists use. I would say try a different primer, and if your skin is super oily make sure you use more powder than a normal person and use a mattifying primer. If you try a new primer, and it's still doing that, try the Loreal Infallible Pro matte foundation!!! Super great for oily skin and stays on well. Not too too great for dry skin though.

I have very dry skin too. I love matte skin and lips but I look terrible. I have to use loads of moisturiser, dewy finish foundation, very little setting powder and a dewy finish setting spray. I mainly just wear lip balm. I've tried hydrating primers but they didn't work for me, obviously you might be different. xxx

Try Too Faced Hangover RX if you have dry skin, it works wonders! Definitely helped my makeup throughout the day as well as my skin :)
