Hi, you can change the energy recovery levels if you go to the Vehicle Settings>Driving. There are three options Light, Normal and Strong. Also in Vehicle Settings> Frequently Used, the electric power assisted steering can be set to Light ,Comfort or Sport.
For UK weather and roads, this car should add a rear window wiper. Based on what I read this Cat is designed with urban female in mind with a few little things for the demographics including a slightly lower door handle for average shorter Asian women, there is space for lipsticks and purse under the console, wider door opening and little bit higher seat for shirt and a very sensitive CCTV warning the driver when distracted by putting on makeup, of course the styling, range and performance for all gear toward urban driving. There is another Cat Sports model designed with male in mind.
Hmm, that wasn’t in the brochure, it’s a carpanion which makes sense if Ora were wanting you to relate to the Cat as a pal - practicality wider doors etc help all, we’ll see if there’s subtle differences when the time comes, thank you 😊 ps a wiper seems to be missed by many a manufacturer nowadays, good addition
I think we saw you today Ben in the Ora 3? We were in our black Ora 3. Your review made up our mind about getting one, it's great! We live next door to Duncan in BLS. 👍🏻
Hello, Mike - amazing you’ve got an Ora, shame they dropped the name Funky Cat, the 03 is an awesome bit of kit and the retro German looks. That’s excellent to hear, thank you - il catch up with you soon 😀
I do like the ora cat even though I prefer my MG4 but you guys HAVE to get an MG4 XPower.... Spent the weekend down at Goodwood and its an absolute monster!!!
and in this country they aren’t likely to retain that name, possibly numbered moving forward, and of course they’re all ORA 😆 do you think we’ll see them all in the UK?
Well this is certainly 'different' 😃 suits the 2 tone colour combo. What I'm not so sure about is definitely the price for something that's untried in the UK. Will appeal to certain sections of social like most things do & rightly so as choice is mo bad thing! Good to see Cabie making a guest appearance & i should think so to with the car that bears resemblance name wise to his ancestry 🐈🐈⬛❤ great review planet auto 🚘 👍
There was a cat on your drive that I prefurred ! OK it’s a very attractive car , good colour schemes . Give it a decent petrol engine, loose ALL the tech , real dials, handbrake, key you twist, no driving aids, gimmicks etc , and maybe it might appeal. I know I know !
I think that this is more a rival for the Honda e (with better range and a larger boot) than anything else, and that is not necessarily a bad thing at all, as the e is wonderful. With the unusual looks outside and inside, it's probably not to everyone's taste, but I can see these selling well once the dealership network is fully up to speed.
The mobile app beats most others too, you can even turn temp up and down when you precondition. I think only tesla lets you do this the rest of the ev cars you precondition and its 1 temp only usually 21
Nice car but the price is a sticking point. You said it's just a car to nip to the shops too not to go on holiday with, £30000 plus I expect it to do everything including trips to IKEA.
Yes, this seems to be most people’s challenge spending that money on a little known low range car. wWhat we need to do is road trip it and see what we can get on one charge 😀 thank you David
You get 'looks' when you drive it. It drives smoothly. Its funky inside. BUT - The Indicators work on AUTO but if they don't turn OFF - you can't (without wiggling LEFT RIGHT LEFT for half a mile). The screens keep changing all the time which is distracting. When I parked close-ish to another car it wouldn't stop BEEPING - even in NEUTRAL!! I actually think the Controls are dangerous and BSI should take a look at it. (I love EVs and hired this for 3 days to check it to buy - so I am not a Petrol Head bot).
It sounds more like a pre-production model, because we experienced none of that. We had one on review from the press fleet for a week, and it would have been very noticeable. Sorry to hear that this was your experience, @joso7228 *A
It's quirky for sure, and looks really funky, love the lines and contours. Nothing against electric cars per se, but until the UK gets a proper infrastructure in place when it comes to charging these cars for me at least, they are not on my list of cars I'd like. An awful lot of work needs to be done before we will be anything like ready for the ban on sales of new diesels and petrol engines by 2030.
That's very true, @WayneM1961. We've found that the charging infrastructure is better up here than down South... We wonder if the deadline of 2030 will be delayed, especially when you consider how much of a challenge it's going to be regarding commercial vehicles. Thank you. *A
It looks amazing shame about the range, now if there was (which I know there will never be) a hybrid this would be a sale’s success and could start them on the journey like MG did in 2009
It does, and it’s fun, it’s had a fair few people sign up for it - it’ll be interesting to see how many of those convert into sales. With the intro of other bigger models, batteries, trims it’s one to watch - as for hybrid, you never know, even if it’s not on the cards. Thank you Wayne
Definitely different looking but not to my taste to expensive to much technology to go wrong Don't think there would be interest in it in a few years time resale bet it drops like a stone hope your both well will still stick to my ice car
Thanks, @nigelford936 - we are hanging in there (although it's been a really tough time) We absolutely loved the Funky Cat though - and we love lots of ICE cars too. If only we had more room....*A
Better interior than the MG4 but, as others have said, too expensive for what is an unknown brand in the UK with very few dealerships or places to test drive. Smallish battery & a tiny boot as well. Oh, & yet another car without a rear wiper!! A very feminine looking car that won't appeal to many blokes I feel.
All valid points, it’s certainly got its market, and with all it’s tech and refinement it commands a certain price, there are some good deals currently though, thank you Colin

Thank you, I was impressed at what functionality the Funky Cat in the infotainment, thank you for the heads up Rob.

Those seats look so comfy! Great review as always
Thank you 😊 fun one this
I do like the ora cat even though I prefer my MG4 but you guys HAVE to get an MG4 XPower.... Spent the weekend down at Goodwood and its an absolute monster!!!
Wow, @willsbrewery3518 that must have been awesome! We are already working on getting one on review as soon as we can. Will keep you posted. *A
Love your review and it seems to be an awesome car
Thank you Bad Boy, have you driven one yet?
There are three kinds of cat. Funky Cat, Ballet Cat and Driving Cat. And all of them are ORA!!
and in this country they aren’t likely to retain that name, possibly numbered moving forward, and of course they’re all ORA 😆 do you think we’ll see them all in the UK?
It’s a pretty little car, I must say!! It’s got little creature comforts, but it’s attractive!!
It is, fun too Madon
Great review. Is ground clearance good? Funky cat is arriving here in Brasil. Some roads here are pitiful....
It’s not particularly low, it coped well in our drive, whereas an A1 virtually scrapes through the puddles, dips etc as does our C124 MB
@@PlanetautoUK thanks for the prompt reply
You’re very welcome Jony 😊

Yes, it’ll be interesting to see how it fairs, we can’t wait to see the other models too, youtube.com/@planetshauto Cabie you say? Enjoy

Slowly by slowly you’re coming round to them😀 Cabie did well not to attack another cat on the drive, thank you Richard

It has a certain - dare I say it - quirkiness to it?? Lol *A
@@PlanetautoUK , very good, Mrs Quirk!

Excellent - thanks for the heads up. As ours was a press car, we were unable to bind. *A
I love this car ❤
It’s very lovable and fun too 😊
Nice car but the price is a sticking point. You said it's just a car to nip to the shops too not to go on holiday with, £30000 plus I expect it to do everything including trips to IKEA.

It's a likeable little thing, for sure!
It really is, it’ll be interesting to see how it fairs, thank you Ambien

When your looking at...
the shopping bag hooks in the boot, what did the lady say? Cant figure it out
Annabelle was referring to the parcel shelf ‘it’s well wedgerninoed isn’t it?’ - meaning wedged 😆 thank you Simon

Looks pretty good, to small for me....great lease deals just now!!
It’s very good, but with all small cars it’s not going to suit all, nice work highlighting the great price on leasing, thank you Gordon

No rear wiper 🤔
It’s amazing how many cars now omit one Shokk, thank you
Cool, but that camera inside is creepy!
Pretty much all new cars have got them in iX you can take selfies 😆 thank you Two Six
@@PlanetautoUK maybe it’s cool in a cyberpunk, sci-fi way, like being referred to as ‘Two Six’ 😆
Looks like a Baby Porsche from the front 🤔😁
It does that and a Beetle 🪲 😀
Wish you luck if you've bought one😂
Have you got one Mike? Of what we’ve experienced so far it does what it was intended to do with ease, thank you

It’s not a sports car!! It’s a family hatchback with which you wouldn’t want to take it out in the winter!!
It’s a hatch which is sporty a far reach from a sports car, and we took it on a road trip in Winter, it coped perfectly well Madon
