Thanks for this video.. it's saved me some time testing Bollinger+RSI. I've tested Bollinger Bands on their own and produced some nice systems across currency pairs and gold.
On the other hand double Bollinger, one for entry the other for exit can improve things as an alternate exit on top of the regular SL/TP, along with Min-Max pips width of the band for entry.
you are right. there are many ways to enhance BB strategy, I usually test raw signals to see effect of filters before continuing the building process.

Ok here me out, Bollinger bands are trend following but we are using rsi wrong instead of over sold as a buy signal can they be used for short positions
First of all love the Chanel real automated back tests with out fake results!
What happens if you put a moving average with the Bollinger bands, rsi of 2 or 3 and when the price is below the ema and price closes below the bottom band of the bb AND price is closes below the 20 line of the rsi you enter a short and close when price close above the bb midline and Visa versa for longs. This is less mean reversion and more trying to ride the trend.
Also using the bb as a pull back price above ema, price closes below the bottom bb and then once the rsi has moved from over sold to about the 20 mid line you buy, close position either the mid line, above the upper bb or then rsi closes above 80 line I manual backtested with a bb standard deviation of 3 as a stop loss
I haven't tried testing with adx to ensure that there is strong price movement/momentum. Would love to hear back from you about ideas or ways to use these rules and indicators
You are building a strategy, there are literally thousands of options, only testing will give results.
The video is about the efficiency of adding these two indicators as a signal and a filter.
Of course you can use other parameters and it could work, but in general using these two together doesn’t add value
