Thank you for putting Jasmine last xD I really can't stand her, while everyone complains about Merida, I just look at her and think "what about THAT spoiled brat?!" I mean, at least Merida learns something from her mistakes and has a change of personnality by the end of the film... Jasmine has none, she's never truely confronted to the consequences of her actions... :/ I think my only problem with Snow white is that she comes from a totally different time period so of course if I judge her from our perspective she deserves to be so low but on the other hand, she's the representation of the perfect girl by classic standards... So I don't know what to think about her ^^' I'd still put her higher than Aurora for the simple fact that she has more screen time ^^ I'm a little disappointed by Megara's placement, I really like her attitude, it's kind of fresh in the line of the Disney princesses to have a tomboy character who outsmarts her male counterpart and throws puns once in a while ^^ Belle used to be my favorite as a child but now I'd be more neutral. She might be a little too perfect for my taste, even though I love the values of courage and generosity she gives :) When it comes to the Frozen sisters I'm actually more on Anna's side ^^ I just have one big problem with Elsa, and it's how she treats Anna when she finds her in her ice castle... Like, your sister faced wolves, crashes, storms and basically, all the dangers a mountain can involve and your only reaction is to send her away? x) I still like her, at least more than I used to, but this small fact bugs me :/ Esmeralda would be my number one :D I love "her" movie, so I can't be completely objective towards her ^^ I also like how she doesn't surrender to Frollo, despite his threats on her people, I think it makes her more human whereas I imagine in another movie with another female lead, the studios would have made her sacrifice herself as they often do, I find this maturity really enjoyable :) But when it comes to proper princesses, Rapunzel is my favorite for how simple, humble, genuinely good hearted she is

I love your video :) I would put aurora, megara, belle (she is my second favorite), esmeralda and punzie (my fav) higher Cinderella, Ariel, Tirana, Elsa and merida (but I like her) lower :)
My main gripe with Belle is that she completely lacks character flaws and has zero character development throughout the film. I see SOO many people being like "OMG I'm JUST like Belle" and I'm like "..no you're not because you're not perfect like her". There are a lot of things that bug me about her, mainly how pretentious she is, but they weren't designed to be character flaws which makes it even worse, because it means it's never addressed and she's not forced to improve herself in any regard. I like her less each time I watch Beauty and the Beast.

Jasmine complains about everything and she doesn't use diplomacy to anything, she attacks to anyone who doesn't like or agree with her which is bad for someone who will rule someday. Aurora would be higher for me, while Jasmine and Ariel are irresponcible princesses, Aurora is romantic but she knows her responcibilities as a princess, she isn't selfish. Cinderrela reminds me Snow White, but sometimes sie shows that she doesn't like her life as it is.I've never managed to like Megara completly, her behavior is more than sarcastic and sometimes I think she is enjoying not liking the other people. I like how you said "joke" because it literally is a joke, I said it in the description, there's really no point in taking everything so deep. I used it because Benedict Cumberbatch is a very popular element of pop culture and so many girls like him and that was a concious hyperbolization. there is nothing wrong with liking him or TV shows or not partying or blahblah as long as you don't feel special because of it because, reality check, there's thousands of girls and boys who like just the same activities. and if that bookstore in Belle's village was still standing that meant there had to be more people who liked reading books, so it wasn't just her.

but there's other things that make us special, like personality or talents, not watching the same show that thousand other people also enjoy... that is my point the whole time! uniqueness- existing as the only one or as the sole example, which is a drawing or singing talent for instance because every singer or drawer or any other artist creates stuff in their own way in which no other will, what special ability does it take to like all these mentioned elements of POPULAR CULTURE, that is popular for a reason?

I used it because Benedict Cumberbatch is a very popular element of pop culture and so many girls like him and that was a concious hyperbolization. there is nothing wrong with liking him or TV shows or not partying or blahblah as long as you don't feel special because of it because, reality check, there's thousands of girls and boys who like just the same activities. and if that bookstore in Belle's village was still standing that meant there had to be more people who liked reading books, so it wasn't just her.
burberry debby why shouldn't you feel special about these things? Why shouldn't you feel special about every little thing that you like? And we get absolutely no clue of anyone else in the village reading, especially women.
I sort of agree that it’s not really Belle who feels special or superior to the villagers :) we even see her at the very beginning of the movie talking to the baker about the book she just read, all excited, and the guy is like « yeah, whatever... » ^^ and considering how many books she reads at the time, chances are that the book shop stands only thanks to her ^^ but this is just my personal theory... we also know that Gaston believes women shouldn’t read because it gives them ideas, so if HE thinks that, as the most popular man of the town, he can’t be the only one ^^
but there's other things that make us special, like personality or talents, not watching the same show that thousand other people also enjoy... that is my point the whole time!
uniqueness- existing as the only one or as the sole example, which is a drawing or singing talent for instance because every singer or drawer or any other artist creates stuff in their own way in which no other will, what special ability does it take to like all these mentioned elements of POPULAR CULTURE, that is popular for a reason?
burberry debby the problem is that belle does not feel special because she likes reading, she feels singled out. The things we enjoy and the opinions we have are the things that make us feel like outcasts. That is why we have to embrace them and persuade yourself that being different does not make us weird, but special, as does every element of our personality, even the elements others don't understand.
