They’re on the show to show kids that are being raised in similar lifestyles as them when they were kids, that there’s a better way. They’re making money the legal way, regardless of the lifestyles they were brought up in.

Would be bad for him. So him showing his life on this show and buisness, were he lives, his wife, daughter, who he chills with, i wouldn't ever do that, even thoigh hes he'sin Florida people can still go there from Columbia..so that's the thing i think is super stupid.

Just before seeing this post, I read that Kennedy wanted this show to be cancelled. My first impression is that he rejected it without actually watching it - claiming it "gloried" drugs, crime, and a lifestyle that suggests crime (does) pay. What he and others who halted this series failed to see is that there is a REAL lesson in this narrative. A real "opportunity cost" - Griselda was executed. Michael didn't just lose a mother, he lost brothers...22 family members... Michael's mother (in my opinion) chose "opportunity" over family and the "cost" was her life, the life of her children, and Michael was left to pay the price. Does this show glorify the Cartel? That's complicated. What I got from this show is that there is a real need for children of Cartels (and Mobsters, and others such as Gangs and etc.) for family. That's why they are so tight and they preach loyalty and the importance of not being a snitch or silence. And, that is also complicated. Is there love? No doubt but the cost of all the material wealth and gain is akin to a landmine. I think that's what makes Micheal and Marie's love story so beautiful. There is so little you can do to survive a landmine...but somehow, they do. For now.
