    Dunning-Kruger effect goes hard in the paint in a corporate setting; once you get high enough up the decision ladder all it takes is one person to make so many lives hell.

      That is not an example of Dunning-Kruger, just an example of a loss of moral and social responsibility due to diminished accountability. Many families have this on a micro-level, they are called "jerks", some people even call them "Mr President".

    the ufc fighter was trying to quote einstein’s ‘if you can’t explain a [concept] to a six year old then you don’t understand it yourself’ which is a strong notion i agree with. if you can’t simply explain quantum physics, then you probably shouldn’t explain this idea to other people.
    the ufc fighter simply is showing he has a mindset of a child. he managed to juxtapose the meaning of this concept to reflect idiocracy of himself trying to sound smart, by not even properly understanding the meaning of the quote.

    I remember looking in to this a while back, but it was more about "self-proclaimed experts". We have more self-proclaimed experts because of the internet, but these experts have no deliverables, or proof of their knowledge. They are simply repeating something that someone else said - hence the popularity of certain podcasts. For example, someone could listen to what David has to speak on about business and repeat it to someone else claiming they themselves are the expert. Compared to David himself speaking about it to that same person and showing first hand knowledge of what he is speaking on. But, all of this is why we are so divided because most people won't do their due diligence. Good topic.

    Just wanted to clarify something Ed said. Buzz does not attempt to commit suicide. He wanted to prove, even after watching the Buzz Lightyear commercial, that he was a real space ranger. This is even reflected in Randy Newman's song (the lyrics being Buzz's thoughts) during the scene. He sees an open window and attempts to fly. It's when he falls that he realizes that Woody was right.

    • @edparkvp5465
      @edparkvp5465 Месяц назад +3

      You are correct and I agree. Thank you for adding that. I used finger air quotes on “suicide” but you can’t hear my fingers. Sorry.
      François Reichelt, was a French tailor, inventor and parachuting pioneer, who is remembered for jumping to his death from the Eiffel Tower while testing his wearable parachute. He didn’t attempt to commit suicide either. But he did.
      Buzz not dying added to the shock that he is truly a toy.

    Bruh, Frozen definitely made WAY more money in merch than the movie itself.
    Every girl (and even boys) from like 3 to 10 is (still?) going crazy over Elsa.
    That's the only stuff I had to buy my niece for birthdays and christmas between 3-10 years old. ANYTHING Frozen themed.
    Disney made a bank on licensing and toy producers on sales.

    To the first part of the title... it is sometimes noticeable depending on a person's comment under different videos. An example of this is: there has recently been someone in the JK comments "thinking" they are a political channel and commenting that their 'guests lately are Harris voters". As if a person's possible political affiliation matters to appear on JK. Or another person who commented "why is everyone on this channel Asian???"

    hold on tho that country guy is kinda right if your an expert you should be able to explain the thing you do in a way that even the dumbest person in the world understands it now if you cant do that it doesnt mean your not an expert it just means you suck at explaining what you do which isnt good either

    Love the podcast with you two! But please be careful, what you're complaining about this episode is in stark contradiction with what Ed mentioned in a previous episode. Ed mentioned Graham Hancock's theories as if they were truth, but in reality they're conspiracies from a man who is deluded by his own confidence and defiance towards the "mainstream". I encourage you to read up on the scientific and archaeological explanations which contrast Graham Hancock. Miniminuteman on RUclips did a great series which is easy to understand for everyone.

      Having low intelligence or having an intellectual disability does NOT automatically mean that someone is on the spectrum btw, please educate yourself on the topic before spreading nonsense like this and being yet another case of the Dunning-Kruger effect.

      Having low intelligence or having an intellectual disability does NOT automatically mean that someone is on the spectrum btw, ASD, or the autism spectrum disorder is different than what you've been told what it means to be on the spectrum. And using it as a phrase to indicate that someone might have an intellectual disability by saying that someone is on the spectrum is not appropriate and not correct. Please educate yourself on the topic before spreading nonsense like this and being yet another case of the Dunning-Kruger effect.
