Working in a Pediatric ER as an ED Tech, we do have the ED Tech/Unit Clerk model. For us it works fairly well, of course some are better at the clinical side vs the administrative side but you also work closely with the charge nurse which helps out a lot in the end. It really all depends on your needs as a department. A great presentation and stuff to think about.
