How to Make Spaghetti w Meat & Mushroom Sauce
    INGREDIENTS:
    1 pound ground beef
    1 cup diced onions
    1 cup diced bell peppers
    1 container of slice mushrooms
    1 28oz can crushed tomatoes
    1 28oz can tomato sauce
    2 tsp. basil
    2 tsp. oregano
    2 tsp. Italian seasonings
    1 tbsp. minced garlic
    1 tbsp. tomato paste
    salt and black pepper
***extra seasonings as wanted - I added 1 tsp combination
    basil/italian seasonings/oregano at last 10 minutes of
cooking. This gives it a burst of freshness and extra flavor.
In a pan on medium heat add ground beef, stir, chop and cook
for 5 minutes until most of liquid is absorbed. You can drain
    the excess fat.
Add onions, bell peppers, mushrooms, salt and black pepper.
Stir and cook for 3-4 minutes.
Add minced garlic and tomato paste. Stir and cook for 1-2
    more minutes.
Add in can of crushed tomatoes and tomato sauce.
Turn up heat to med high, stir to combine.
Add in seasonings, stir to combine.
Bring up to a boil, turn heat down to a low simmer, cover
and cook for 45 minutes. Stir occassionally.
After 45 minutes give it a taste test. Add seasonings as you
wish. Stir and cook for another 10 minutes.
Serve over spaghetti and top with parmesan cheese.
Or add parmesan cheese to sauce, add spaghetti, stir to
    combine.
    Enjoy.

Thank you Ms Tess. Being a man of 64, the need to learn the art of cooking has arisen. Created by unfortunate issues. Your recipe simple and well explained. The ingredients are on hand or easy to acquirer. A pleasant meal to follow I predict. Again, thank you so much..

I take pasta straight from pasta water to the sauce to retain some starch. I made this with morning star crumbles, a little soy rizo for kick. No bell peppers at home, so I used a mushrooms (of course), zucchini, celery, and added fresh parsley and basil at end. Copied the rest, just a lot less cooking time with veggie meat. Very good!

I prefer mixing in the sauce with the pasta. I usually make more than will be eaten in a single meal, and mixing it all together both makes it easier to store and allows the pasta to marinate in the sauce during storage.

I undercook my pasta by about 3-4 minutes in the water, and finish cooking it in the sauce. The pasta absorbs all that flavor as it cooks.

Soffritto ~ The Holy Trinity of Italian Cuisine
A holy trinity in cooking is simply a combination of three aromatic ingredients(onions-carots-sellery)
About The Official Bolognese Recipe. Bolognese originated from Bologna, the capital city of the Emilia-Romagna region in northern Italy. What some people don’t realize is that Bolognese is a meat sauce
As the official Bolognese recipe below specifies, authentic Bolognese is primarily a meat sauce that contains very little tomato, and there isn’t any garlic, no oregano, no basil, no parsley, no bay leaves, no rosemary, thyme or sage, no anchovies, no fennel or star anise, no lemon zest, no cinnamon or nutmeg, no sugar, no peppers, no chili sauce or hot pepper flakes - none of the myriad ingredients that many people might use in their bolognese recipes today. A good Bolognese sauce also only takes a few hours to make .The “official” Bolognese pasta called for by the City of Bologna is tagliatelle pasta. Tagliatelle (pronounced talia-telly) are long, flat ribbons similar in shape to fettuccine.
When someone writes a song, gives it a name, and people know it according to its title, another person cannot say they are going to sing that song and then sing something different even if they say it is "their version" of the song for it is a false statement and a lie that insults the original author of the piece. The same is true with recipes. Call them what they are, and if you did not create and therefore name the dish, you have no right to use the name to describe something you are cooking and say it is a known dish when it is not. That is plain false representation.

I like to coat the pasta in the sauce, arrange on a plate or in a bowl, then spoon a little more on top. Some of my family prefer to have the plain pasta on the plate and then cover with sauce. Thanks for sharing!
