P500 for those 3 lobsters was very reasonable. Lobsters are very expensive. He was not overcharging, and he was giving you free scallops as a "thank you." That's how Filipino vendors are. You could ask for freebies in the market. Just say "dagdagan mo naman" ("add some for free"). That is Filipino hospitality. :-)

I tried the same method when I visited Sta Ana at the Northern most border of Philippines and worked out very well, considering the low cost for fish and charges for cooking by the chef at our resort. An experience to remember along with my wife 😎

@@harryjaggardtravel In fact, there are many situations! Some fishmongers have their own restaurants, and they may only charge the cost of some seasonings; some restaurants take the initiative to seek cooperation with the fishmongers, and they will charge a little more for the service fee! If in my country, after buying seafood, it really can't be that expensive to overpay for cooking! In fact, it is easy to judge that when Ali asked them to recommend, they did not specify which restaurant to go to, which proved that there was no cooperative relationship between them! But not every one is like this, maybe other fishmongers have their own cooperative restaurants! However, for me, the main cost should be ingredients ~ seafood, whether they cooperate or not, the cooking price charged by that restaurant really scares me!

Please don't bargain in the market, they work long hours and make so little money. As evident in your vlogs and interactions with the locals, Filipinos are kind hearted people and provides 5 star service🌟
Bargain is normal and it should be the same with foreigners. You can't just tell him not to bargain just because he's foreigner. What Ali and he did is perfect example for everyone.
Yeah you can bargain but not too much tho. If you feel the market man didn't want it very low in your bargain price he sees it losing too much already. Have the feeling too coz they need incomes too for their families and think of their high expenses and industry too being there in full day early and late night. Who knows their day's meals being there is only rice and sardine to save money. 😂That means they think of profit minus expenses that's what they have always being there. If you see them counting always their sales that means they really want income not losing. Have the eyes too coz if you see then not so fatty they actually saving on their meals too. Best thing to do is find out the prices there to know if they price it too high
My husband and I went to Maine 3 years ago and just lobster cost me $25 and sides not included but I ate one lobster a day for 3 days straight, everything in Philippines are much cheaper and can’t wait to go home. I’m drooling right now!
No offence, I just hope travellers don't ask for very low bargains because I know how tough it is to live in the Philippines, with rising petrol costs and the food are getting expensive as well. Peaceeee
I always go and eat there everytime I go home for vacay. For the experience. You guys know all the famous tourist spots in Mla. BGC , Mall of Asia, you should visit Okada and Solaire Casino to show to your viewers what the City offers for Tourist. BGC's condo apartments are bit expensive bec its a high end place to live. Everything you need is just in the corner and very safe place to live. I have 2 1/2 bedroom condo unit there, It's up for rental if we are not there since we are base here in Toronto Canada. Philippines is the best Asian country to live and enjoy retirement. So looking forward for that. Enjoy the experience in the Phil. Stay safe.

I found your channel only a couple of days ago, Now I cant stop watching it, A perfect mix of humour, culture and markets ( god I love the markets lol ). Im excited to watch the rest, keep up the good work fella.
Cooking fresh seafood is still the best....... its nice to hear that your learning some tagalog words.... keep it up Harry. ❤️❤️😂😂🇵🇭
You should try going to Taguig, McKinley Hill Dr where you can see an awesome mall where there is Venice Grand Canal in the Mall. Also go to Okada Mall, Fort Bonifacio, also try going to Bataan to see Las Casas Filiginas De Acuzar ( its a heritage houses of Philippines during colonial times.
thanks bro im slowly getting better!
the Philippines is best with its Filipinos and culture. Hospitable, friendly and welcoming. Mabuhay!! 🇵🇭🇵🇭
It's actually a fair price. Seafood in Manila is normally way more expensive because of supply chain costs. In provinces, especially in fishing villages and islands, you can get them half price or even cheaper.
yeah you can get literal buckets of seafood for less than 500 in some areas
Oh my boy friends😀
You can experience here in the Philippines what you have not experience in all the countries you you've visited. Stay safe
I like the way you pronounce the Tempura. In Philippines we pronounce it Tempoora. Hope you enjoy your dinner Harry
Jayson is very kind🇵🇭❤️
I love watching your vlog ,have fun and enjoy every moment of your stay in the Philippines.New subscriber of yours a Filipino watching from Europe 👍👍
Interesting vlog. Thank you for appreciating filipino delicacies😊
Wow!..those dishes look absolutely delicious..wish I was there joining you guys for a sumptuous feast..lovely video 💗
Hi Harry, I've seen lots of your videos, but just this time I'd subscribe you due the gratefulness you have shown to my fellow Filipino who's selling pearl necklace..I was touched for you helping them with that money you gave them.. That would help her a lot for her family.. Thanks anyway Harry, you deserve millions of subscribers.. God bless!
Thank you Jay!
He is enjoying and amazed of the Filipino culture. ❤
Don't feel annoyed if they hustling you, they are just doing their job.... They are good people, learn to adapt different types of people regardless of gender.
Pls Visit City Of Good Life Oroquieta,Province of Misamis Occidental Its More Fun in Philippines.
I think vinegar with lots of onion and chili best for calomares. You can also ask them to lessen some sugar or any condiments if ur health continues.
Hi Harry and friend Ali, great fish video, the fish foot looks great and tasty mmmmm,i love the sea fish foot to, thanks for showing, see you in the next video...
Harry, The price of the shrimp & lobster is fair considering that it came from a province. It's good that you haggled for its price. Honestly, how was the experience? Another great vlog. Where's Dani, though?
Hello Harry, WELCOME TO THE PHILIPPINES!
I really love the way you communicate with us (Filipinos) ,so respectful and nice.Thank you soooooo much for visiting our Country, but beware...upon tasting and enjoying our best FOODS,surely just a week or a month YOU will gain weight😉☺️.
Have a safe and wonderful day,God bless Young Man♥️
You were not overcharged. Its pity that you’re asking for discounts. Those workers are only earning less than $20 a day
I have never heard of this concept and didn't know that it exists.
Looking forward for tomorrow's video. 🙌
The seafood is really delicious. I really admire you Sir Harry. God Bless You.
@@FLipSide5254 Absolutely true 💯
That's bullshit. Spoken like a true privileged person. Bargaining is basic skills in any trade. It's not exclusive for certain people only.
As long as the vendor areed on it there's no problem
My husband and I went to Maine 3 years ago and just lobster cost me $25 and sides not included but I ate one lobster a day for 3 days straight, everything in Philippines are much cheaper and can’t wait to go home. I’m drooling right now!
No offence, I just hope travellers don't ask for very low bargains because I know how tough it is to live in the Philippines, with rising petrol costs and the food are getting expensive as well. Peaceeee
done watching Ali's content..loving both of you guys 👍
Stay safe.
Love your vlog Harry ❣️ From all of us here in the US, thank you for bringing us back down memory lane. Great job! Good luck and hope you’ll find more subscribers 😀❤️ Salamat🙏
Love your videos 🔥🔥👍❤️❤️❤️
Very happy to see your videos, take care ❣️ from India
I feel more hungry watching your video eating seafoods....i love seafoods❤❤❤
It’s cheaper if you buy in big quantities. They charge cooking by kilo.
For half kilo shrimp cooked two ways will of course cost you more.
Try to visit East Wood and Ortigas in Manila both nice Area looks like Makati and PGC .
Love your content 🔥🔥👍❤️❤️
I like u both Harry and Ali, I'm always waiting ur vlogs. 🙂😊👍🇵🇭
Never get bored watching your video Harry.. Nice, fun and cool content that really entertained me...
Hi,new subscribers here 😊 P500 each was not bad at all with all the foods you guys have. I pay $11.99 per one tiny lobster here in the US and its not even cook! If we eat in the restaurant one lobster with season rice on the side cost $22 dollars and some cents. Pilipino’s are genuinely generous in fairness to the fish vendor. Lol…Thats what I love about the Filipino’s 🇵🇭
I am not a big fan of sea food, but I do like my Kalamari :) You should try Red Snapper - that's a good fish!
Wow! Kudos to you because they allowed you to come inside their kitchen. Happy that they were not snob or annoyed by you. Sometimes people get annoyed when people check their way of cooking regardless of nationality. ☺️ Happy seafood galore!!
yeah that is super nice that they allowed me in!
I been places where food is.prepared in front of my own eyes which gave me chance to guide the chef about my tastes and also be sure no malpractices and lack of hygiene involved in the process.
This method builds confidence among discreet diners who will.come back for more.
I experienced the same.in Japanese Restaurants too.
Dampa seafood is the best place to visit in Philippines 🇵🇭🇵🇭... I'm very happy for you....❤️❤️❤️❤️ From Phuket Thailand
I was so hungry after watching the two of you eating all that tasty looking sea food. It's not fair!
Hey Harry how are you! On your next visit to the PI. You should consider exploring Leyte as well. Take Care and Be safe kiddo!
more places awaits for your visit... experience the cool breeze, amazing beaches of north Luzon.
You just made me hungry with those delicious seafoods Harry! I think it was a fair price. 👌😎
To be fair, they did not overcharged you… seafoods in that kind of places are really more expensive than the ordinary wet markets. 🙂
That seafood looks amazing 😍 I never seen something like that where you pick the seafood and go to the restaurant to cook it in America we don’t have that
Hello 👋 harry thank you so much Godbless Mabuhay watching from California USA 🇺🇸
Looks so good..my mouth is watering my favorites 😍
Hi ty for visit here in the Philippines.good bless you Amway's
hahahahahaha sitcom, you are really accurate on that one, Coco is a comedian and as Ate Shawie lol
The seller probably did not up charged you. It’s very common for a seller to give you “2” clams, because it’s not very often to buy only 2 clams.
So nice to see you are enjoying Philippines even though Philippines is not originally your plan to-go country.
Lapu-lapu is a local fish which in English is called commonly as "grouper". However, so as not to confuse with the "pugapo" (another Philippine fish common in the Visayan islands, which is also known as "grouper" in English), we could translate "lapu-lapu" as "Miniata grouper" by Google👍
Thank you for that
We couldn’t see the fish properly
Even on Ali’s vlog
But now you said it was grouper
I can see 🙏🏻😊
@@chilly_chilton730 welcome always!
I love this grouper or laps lapu, it’s creamy, rich, and sweeter flavor. It is $15 per pound or $30/kg. here, not fresh unlike there
Dumpa is a ritual when coming home to Manila! Butter Crabs, Fried Squid , Tempura Prawns and Sweet and Sour Lapu Lapu are always on the menu. Thanks for the amazing videos it's making me miss the Philippines I Haven't travelled in 3 years. I've been to the UK 7 times love the place can you do Filipino restaurants in London?
Soon good to be there in Philippines!!🙏❤️🇵🇭
you should visit also the makati city ayala triangle
Best thing is you entered the kitchen, you know how your food is handled if it's clean or not.
That meal is still very reasonable. Here in the US, Lobster meal is $25.00 for one piece includes Potatoes, and small salad.
Very kind and friendly people, do many challenges like this Harry Potter . Tons of love from India 🇮🇳 ❤💙
We used to eat there with my family when I arrived for my vacation! T used to be An ofw befoce, Harry and ali. Now I am retired from working abroad, I am happy to be with my family now! Thanks for your vlogs, I become a fan overnight
" A good doctor could probably still save it!" Harry talking about the cooked fish is so funny!!!🤣
