Not gonna lie, so envious of you. Been impossible finding a job where I am and I miss bartending so much. At least I get to live vicariously through your vids. Take care, David! Keep slinging awesome cocktails. P.S. Would love for you to give a drink of mine a try and see what you think/receive criticism and if there are ways to improve it, as my last bar wasn't super craft inspired or focused so I feel it went a little under the radar haha
Love the vids bro!! Could you please add text on screen of the drink and recipe as you start them? Hopefully it’s not too much work…I feel like it would make the already awesome vids even better ❤
I used to make make $10,000 a month pretty consistently bartending at an extremely high volume, understaffed spot, and it was WAY more insane than this
hello, i have a question, also forgive me if i don't know anything because im trying to get into bartending. in 17:01 when you was making the drink with the leaf, after you mixed it up and everything why didn't you strain with the second strainer
@davidblake1 now I am doing my diploma in bartending , than i complete my diploma I want to work with you sir . So please reply me sir . Love from India .
@@Rdude4444 - It's what you call bartender math. He's in Vancouver, which had a minimum wage of $16.75/hr when this video was made. For 40 hours work that works out to $670/wk. So even with his hourly wage, this is definitely far short of $10K/month. Likely uses this 'math' for tips, too. I saw the same thing when I bartended years ago. I would track my tips to the penny and for some reason they added up to half of what other bartenders who worked the same shifts claimed to make. Something that was impossible as we had a tip pool.
@@ColdRunnerGWN My thoughts as well. I'm assuming by $10k he's talking about Canadian dollars (about $7230 USD), because I'm hard-pressed to believe this guy makes $10k USD monthly lmao. He claims he works 35 hrs, so even if we're being extremely generous in saying he made $6k in tips ($1500/wk), that's coming out to a wage of nearly $29/hr for a bartender who can't properly pour a beer (spout against the glass, spout in the foam, dumped about 3 ounces of beer insteading of letting the head settle at 14:05).
I know this is a stupid question, but how do you know what to fix next. I'm not hearing anyone telling you what they want. Is it on a screen....or a ticket...how do you know what you're fixing next?
Hello I am from Nepal I am coming to Canada Toronto for my further studies. I recently took training for bartending. is it possible to find a bartender part-time job in Canada?
It’s in kerrisdale located in Vancouver, one of the top 10 richest neibourhoods in Canada, 🇨🇦 n top of that is a buuuuusy restaurant with very low tip out
This place looks like so much fun! I’d love to go there!
yeah if you like to be surrounded by 100year olds

It would be really awesome and helpful if you edit your videos with what you’re pouring/ mixing up.

How many covers do you usually do a night?

Great vid! Not seeing how this adds up to $10k a month though. You were making about $1300-1400 per week right?
That much in tips, I have my wages on top of that 💸
@@davidblake1that still doesn’t add up. Even if you were getting $20 an hour on top of that.

Hey david i just wanna ask did you do any bartending courses or did you just learn from experience? Love the vids :)
You learn the best, when you start from zero. Too be good barthender, you need at least about 4-5 years of working.

Wow you make a lot of money for a guy bartending at a place that isn't particularly populated with customers. It must be a rich area.
Or he’s fibbing
@@Rdude4444 That's what I was kind of alluding to lol

Question! Do you still work a 40 hr week but just 4 days? Or do you still have to still work 5 days in the week
I was working 4 days a week, about 35 hours a week
What are you paid per hour tho?
God bless you mate
375 in how many hours 12?
Why do you not fill the glasses all the way and dump out the remaining alcohol in the sink isn’t that causing shortage for the company?
Not gonna lie, I was definitely vibing out to paparazzi lady gaga 🤭
