In episode 6 of our Greece travel guide, we explore Naxos, one of the most family friendly Greek islands.
Naxos Greece is the largest island of the Cyclades (Kyklades - Greek Pronunciation) island group in the Aegean Sea.
In this travel guide video we walk you through some basic information about the island, how to get there, how to travel around, where to stay and places you should visit. We start our trip by visiting one of the highlights of Naxos: Portara ("the big door", or "the gate"). It is an unfinished temple dedicated to Apollo. It was built more than 2500 years ago. This is where, according to Greek mythology, Dionysus met Ariadne. What is also known as the temple of Apollo is located in Naxos Town (or Chora). It's a nice place to visit if you're in Naxos.
