    Shorten in intro would be great. Also, show more images and and how-to would be great too.

    This was really uplifting and encouraging, definitely makes me excited to DIY. I originally clicked on this videi because I was cant get rid of boulders in my backyard. Now I'm excited to utilize them :) I've been able to clear a lot of head sized boulders, and I dont know why but i felt i should save them. Knowing people spend money on those things makes me glad I did haha

    Picking up from the forest? Did you ever hear from the National and State parks? Leave no trace and leave it how you found it!

    • @YardCoach
      @YardCoach  2 года назад +2

      Hey Manny,
      Thanks for your interest in the channel. Remember you can always fast forward thru the intro, if you feel it is too long. Regarding the Forest statement, I never stated a National Park or State Park. I mentioned National Forest, big difference. Always select down pieces. The National Forest is where folks gather and cut firewood for 100s of years. Check with local ranger station to see if a permit is needed, but it should not be illegal. State forests may be another matter and each state may have its own Regs. Which is why I stated don’t do anything illegal.
      Thanks for hanging in there and pointing out the very obvious. I spend 100x more time in the natures forests than the average person and respect all natural aspects. As always, to your landscape success. Coach Matt

    Do NOT up light --- very bad for insects & other wildlife.
    Also, to me, it's just pretentious.
    If you insist on doing it at least put it on a timer so it isn't on all night !!!

    • @YardCoach
      @YardCoach  Год назад +1

      Everybody has their opinion. I agree with using timers. But in my experience I have never seen wildlife harmed. In fact many times insects are attracted to lights and they in turn bring in predator species like spiders etc. Some birds and mammals might move away to a darker location. Besides tasteful lighting does not mean creating a Vegas strip environment. I have had tasteful landscape lighting for 30+ years and the same wildlife remained. So I am curious, where does your info come from? I am open to reading any reports you can direct me to. Thanks for watching.

      @@YardCoach Hi Coach,
      It has taken me a long time to find my source for my comment about lighting,
      You may know of Doug Tallamy and his efforts to get us to do our share to help beneficial insects ( which, in turn, helps everything else ).
      One of his You Tube videos is "Nothing But Natives".
      The entire video is worth watching and acting upon but there is @ 55:13 a list of the problems that night lighting presents to wildlife, in particular to insects.
      Hope this helps -- I believe we all need to take at least some responsibility in these matters.
      BTW --- Easy access to his informative videos and guides to participation in this type of gardening can be found by searching HOMEGROWN NATIONAL PARK.
      .......All the best Pat ( alias Bog Trotter )
