Just wanted to say thank you. It's OK seeing these curves on paper or in a layout building software, but it's more useful to see the real thing working. This is very helpful when trying to decide just how compact you can go! Cheers!
Thank you so much for this, I have been searching high and low for someone running this exact train on a Kato 7inch radius. Needed to confirm it ran, before I purchased it. Thank you so much!
I was having trouble finding this exact info for a train I am setting up for this Christmas. This is exactly the information I needed, Thank you very much :)
Thanks for sharing! Pretty cool example of the KATO Unitrack Compact track. I built a small layout on my desk and thankfully had enough space that my inner loop uses the same 20-170 track as your outer loop . I was then able to add a middle loop using 20-100 and 20-110 and then 20-120 and 20-132 for the outer loop.
Now this is great! I am continually impressed by what Kato has to offer! I want to do a small layout for my son in his bedroom, likely with some shelves or a small table. His bedroom is 12'x9', so I don't have a lot of space to work with.
my n scale lay-ou lives inside my piano bench. total size is 9 inches wide by 27 inches long. radius is 3 1/2 inches. I run an 0-6-0 steam engine on it.
If the UK model trains interest you. the Dapol Class 142 railbuses should work on the two outer tracks being 2 axle per car. I am going to build a new N gauge layout in 2025 as well as a HO/OO scale one.
Plenty of used Bachmann track for me at the moment. But these Kato tracks are appealing. Especially a tiny industry with a couple of 40' boxcars and maybe a SW1200ish switcher. Have some train fun on the go!!
Radius sizes from inner to outer is: 117mm, 150mm, 183mm, and 216mm. And the catalogue number from inner to outer is: 20-176, 20-174, 20-172, and 20-170
A year late but you can get the KATO Adapter Cord 24-843 which has a female coupler on one end that will connect to the male connector of the feeder track wire. The other end of 24-843 has U terminals which can connect to your power pack or simply snip them off and use the bare wires to connect to the power pack.

Great video, thanks for sharing. Is a really great way to learn about these small diameter tracks. I loved this video!

Perfect! I have one space on a layout that is only 22” wide and need to do a 180 turn there, so this showed that largest circle/diameter will work.
Love the set on the inner circle

Ty so much been hunting for this info for ages !
Perfect. I have been looking for information like this. I am thinking about building a layout using a Ikea Lack table and it is only 55cm x 55cm.

thank you
This is a great video. TY
Just found your channel and really enjoyed your two videos - hope you return to make some more content! I'd love to see more of these compact layouts!
Great information. We'll done.
Thank you for making this video. I'm making a layout with Kato track and don't have a lot of room myself. Just subbed
A tougher test, which I see no one show, is using a radius bridge section with raised sides.
Hi, hope you can help me what is the width of the 2nd oval please. Are they 20-174 curves. Thanks Nic
Very informative video, what is the approximate radius of the second smallest curve track and what is the Kato catalogue number for the curves. Thanks

Smallest layout size for a large steam engine is 6x3 if anyone was wondering
for a Big Boy?
How do you connect the kato unitrack feeder supply to the bacchman power pack? They have different ends.

Great video brother I’ve got a table that’s 19.5 x 40 so I know what I’m buying with my refund
Where do you buy from?
Cute yes, but this gets very boring very quickly.
