Ok, the thing about "Salted Egg" anything is that... it's a gimmick. It's not that it's popular, it's the companies trying to make it popular! It's nice tho
I'm from Malaysia but it's not an uncommon/unpopular thing in regional Chinese fried dishes(salted egg squid, shrimp, mantis shrimp). And also in its base form as a side for a number of dishes like porridge/congee. Some places here will also give you half a salted egg for some rice dishes like Nasi Kerabu. But there's definitely a strong push to make them a 'normal' flavour for snacks like potato chips. We definitely import a buncha your snacks and there's a lot of SALTED EGG FISH SKIN. I personally like it, though it's nowhere as intense as the real thing in cooked dishes.
😅 when she 1st mentioned while mining diamonds that she was afraid she wouldn't like the cuisine and "water tastes delicious enough but she misses Japanese water", I thought; no way you can be scared of not liking Singapore cuisine, kinda extremely famous? So I initially thought it wasn't Singapore.
Suisei seems to be the type of tourist that goes halfway around the globe and still eats homeland food. Like English going somewhere with exotic foods to them, but insisting on Fish And Chips.
salted egg is basically just a duck egg that is cured in a brine, it is then crushed and dehydrated to form the powder. Since there already is cured, its a given that it is "salty enough to replace the use of salt". Whether there is msg in it, there probably is anyway since they were eating junk food 🤣
If sg is known for anything, it’s definitely not salted egg. Hard marketing by the companies seriously are shoving their goods in the tourist popular areas that causes these misunderstandings abt the food. If only they tried the various noodles/chicken rice/satay etc. guaranteed they will be back as regulars for the meat since most holomems love yakiniku-type stuff
SG has Japanese food (maybe not the unique locality stuff, and not as much variety, but general Japanese food) that is on par with Japanese food in Japan too.
Chances are they paid for it themselves. Which isn't a problem for their size as streamers but Cover is notorious for making their talents pay for a lot of things they use for work
@@venkaramon yes if it's for their own project, but this is for AFA. a sponsorship event, they were either invited or holo chose them because of their popularity. last year AFA, Watame even hold her own concert there and coming in person and sharing her experience
The fried bread that koroazu ate with chili crab was 油条(you tiao), fried dough that originated from southern china, you eat it with porridge in the morning or with soups/sauces with heavy flavour like 肉骨茶(bak tuk teh, porkribs soup) / singapore chili crab

Suisei is pretty childish. This seems consistent.

To be fair I think she's barely been overseas?
The powder sounds like msg

I actually think the salted egg powder is disgusting. Love Singapore food.
They tried the chili crab too (I didn't clip that part cause too long lol)

Its salted egg, not spices.@@IronFreee

Fried mantou for dipping in Chili crab sauces. Or great with condensed milk
