Nanahira's voice will have enough enthusiasm from other Japanese artists because the amount of people she shared has just been growing. I do enjoy this documentary on her because of several reasons. One of which is that even though the loli voice of her spreads across even more, it's more impressive that she has some potential for being off key as well. The second reason is also that the music could explain more of an extreme variation of generes such as the couple of terms you used where they might even know how to count them off, which is amazing. The third reason is that there are so many people out there that have the "full damper" mode you so such say, which could also lead into her advertisments. This also leads into the shear responsability she gets on getting an very wide range. I might be based, but these are such great reasons that you might not think of which makes her quite the person in Rythm games.

If I could just hold her hand for a brief moment, I could die happy. If given the opportunity, I would lightly nibble on her ear just to hear what kind of sweet moans she would let out. Then, I would hug her while she clings to my body hoping that I would stop, but I only continue as she moans louder and louder. I would give up almost anything just for her to look in my general direction. No matter what I do, I am constantly thinking of her. When I wake up, she is the first thing on my mind. When I go to school, I can only focus on her. When I go come home, I go on the computer so that I can listen to her beautiful voice. Either way, this is actually a really well thought out documentary. I can tell a lot of research and time went into this. You deserve a larger audience. Keep it up!
haruka nana is easily one of my favorite utaus to use, but i didnt know that nanahira was also the person who voiced her! this video ended up being very informative to me
I was so glad to be able to travel to Japan back in 2019 and was able to buy physical album of Force in C96 I wasn't sure if nanahira was there but camellia was definitely in the booth helping out in sales!
This is literally the most informative video I’ve ever watched and it’s about nanahira, most underrated content creator ever. Your stuff needs to blow up, this is probably some of the most entertaining and interesting type of content I’ve seen in a while.
As someone who only got into rhythm games relatively recently, like 2 years back or so, Nanahira and Camellia have been a huge part of that journey for me. The production on this video is so good and you can tell that you have an interest in this type of stuff and are really exited to talk about it! For real, great video dude, have my sub
I don't know the first thing about rhythm games, but I discovered Nanahira and Camellia earlier this year, and immediately fell in love. This video is exactly what I needed. Thank you for pointing me to Suehiro Antenna! I would probably have never known about it otherwise. :)
Nanahira is one of my favorite artists of all time. I first discovered her music in 2012 as a Touhou fan with the song Staggering Spirit, Keine's Stagging Song through searching for Halozy music. I loved it so much, that I immediately made stepcharts on Stepmania for this song (though the charts were bad). Since then, I've been obsessing over Nanahira's music for years.
Thank you so much for this video. I've been playing her songs on osu and only recently started to discover about her, Camellia and t+pazolite. This vid is so detailed, helpful and showed deep buried information that I didn't think I'd expect. Praise the YT algorithm for recommend me this god tier quality video.
Just to clarify Denpa has a multitude of meanings. In light novel, you might stumble across denpa girls, which are characterized by out of the world behaviors and one of a kind logic (in a positive way ofc). And then there is the negative connotation that derived from the case as a mysterious “electrical wave” ordered the mass murder. At last, you can view denpa as its literal meaning “electrical wave”, which often is synonymous with vocal pods and remixes because they are modern and “electro-funky” if this is a word lol. I think the last definition makes the most sense though.
wow, youtube recommended me a video I want to watch AGAIN D: bro, this video is amazing ! +1 sub. We finally have more people interested in the history of rhythm games :D :D :D :D
oh nice, I watched your video on Sakuzyo a couple months ago and now you've reappeared in my recommended videos thanks to the youtube algorithm! great work!
Interesting watch. Even though I dabbled in NND a bit back in the day, I don't remember when I first heard of nanahira, it just became a name I had seen here and there in writing to someone who was making waves, almost overnight (that's just how it felt lol, I watched the video) Just a note that Nana Haruka, the voicebank created from nanahira's voice, is classified as an UTAU or utauloid or however you want to refer to them, but not a vocaloid. Utau is a freely available software and while there are often terms of usage for voicebanks you can download freely to use with it, this is still different to the terms of usage you'd get with vocaloid because you're buying a license in those cases, and most of the time creating commercial works is something you can do with vocaloid licenses. Also, it would probably have been a much bigger deal if a company had purposely scouted her to be the voice provider for a commercialised, fully fledged voicebank, vocaloid or otherwise.
and if any long time vocaloid fans are reading this I call IA and even ONE vocaloids all the time, even if they're technically cevio. It's because culturally they fall into the categorization, much more so than most utaus save fan favourites like teto. I always found the biggest difference between any of the commercialised vocal synths and utau was the expanded freedom of utau anyway.
duuuuuuuuuuude you are so good narrating and searching for all this info. totally underrated you deserve to pop up soon and become a huge info youtuber!!
This is really intriguing to watch as someone who actually learned of Nanahira in kind of a backwards way. As a long-time fan of Vocaloid and vocal synth in general, I had known about Haruka Nana and had kind of been obsessed with her for YEARS before I ever heard a single song from Nanahira. Nowadays I'm an avid fan of both Haruka Nana and Nanahira, but it's pretty cool to see how Nanahira came to be the phenomenon she is today, and even get a small bit of insight on Haruka Nana's inception as well. By the way, I will say that Haruka Nana's voice bank as a whole definitely improved since the version that can be heard in "GET AWAY!" but it's still definitely not for everyone, and her popularity has taken a nose dive over the years. The few people who still stick with her though, are VERY good at tuning her voice, and in some cases they're capable of making her sound nearly as good as the real Nanahira. If you want some fantastic examples of how Haruka Nana can sound in the modern day, I'd recommend the following covers (just plug each one into a YT link after the ?, since I don't think YT lets you put full links in comments). Giga-P - Pinko Stick Luv : v=-yg7VXI--Y8 cillia - KOISURU☆BEAM : v=gcqryTwzzvE RINGO - Banana : v=A_f5kEDPcyQ PinocchioP - Common World Domination : v=B7Oo5kVBaDA Omoi - Teo : v=j88n51SMU-8
Holy shit! Nanahira is Haruka Nana???? Damn I did NOT know that And I’m sure a million people have already commented this but she’s not a Vocaloid, she’s an UTAU which is more like a home made DIY Vocaloid programme. I’ve known of her voice in so many different ways without realising! I first knew her name as the Vtuber but I’ve known of Nana the UTAU since about 2015 and I’ve heard that voice in Camellia songs since about 2017. I never knew they were ALL THE SAME PERSON! My mind is blown! Thank you for this really amazing video!
Very interesting hearing this story as it quite differs from my memory and experience - see I first discovered touhou music vocal mixes in 2011 and even back then youtube had a recommended system (had to be in the /recommended and all) and Nanahira's monosugoi flan-chan was one of the first songs that made it to my recommended. The very same video is still there now with 5.5mil views uploaded in 2010, it is labeled under Halozy and doesn't actually mention the name Nanahira anywhere, but once I heard other Halozy songs it was very obvious that it was not all the same person and looking up the album then resulted in easily finding Nanahira mentioned. From which point youtube algorithm did it's thing and I got lot of obscure Nanahira songs in my recommended (just copypasta from NND) But even as someone who didn't understand much Japanese back then youtube had plenty of very popular Nanahira songs uploaded there (unofficially) and she seemed very popular. It might be skewed as I then started hanging out with people of similar interests who also happened to like Nanahira but generally she was quite well known even in the western scene before Camellia or rhythm game madness, maybe more so between more of a female audience with the style of songs back then. Based on my impression I would give the majority of thanks of introducing me Nanahira to Halozy as having the 100-500k view videos on youtube back then was I would say considered fairly popular and that was in 2011. And of course it was Nanahira herself who just released a song after song even during the 2009-2012 and managed to capture the hearts of so many fans. One thing that Camellia definitely helped with was introduce the already fairly popular cutesy song Nanahira to an audience of dubstep and jcore and similar styles of beat, which she didn't do before. While I was never fan of those genres myself and prefer the more cute style of songs like what she started with or some of the recent stuff with Korone Pochi Big Cheese and such, I can see why it would bring lot of people to discover her. So yea I guess it does make sense that her popularity grew more after expanding from the purely "girly" style songs with animal noises and whatnot to still cute songs but backed by more aggressive beat and rhythm songs with Camellia, essentially doubling her audience. Nice video though learned about how it was to discover Nanahira from a different perspective than mine and I hope many more people discover her after this too all in their own ways, she is extremely talented and hard working. I was actually waiting for her to be recruited by some vtuber agency, as has happened with other utaite in the recent years but she might prefer the more calm music production she has been doing for over a decade now :) . Only time will tell~
i knew about the play on words of the messaging app LINE, but i always had it in the back of my mind it was also a reference to bassline, the genre of UK music thats used in the track. id like to know your thoughts on that. Edit: id love either a NOMA or a REDALiCE vid, i love this series you are putting together and id never thought id ever see one. Thank you.
I hadn't thought of that actually, considering Camellia's ability to genre bend I wouldn't be surprised at all if that was the true meaning! Also thanks mate, appreciate that :) those 2 are on my list
Wow I sat through this whole video thinking this was some multi hundred thousand sub channel until the last minute or so when you thanked for 1k. This video was pieced together beautifully and explained a topic I didn’t know much about while keeping it entertaining thank you!
Wow very informative. Was a fan of nanahi since 2014 and i didn’t even know most of these. Also surprised that converyor belt sokudo max was released before bassdrop freaks.
Man, I learned a few things I wasn't aware of. So thanks for the video. But one thing just jumped at me the most. Around the 8:30 mark you mention that songs from her 1st album are missing. Which is absolutely incorrect. You can even buy her 1st album on second hand websites and import it easily for a cheap price. (might become more expensive as time goes on). Me and a few other peps even own this CD physically. Anyway, I wish your channel all the best for the future!
Before asking for Camellia next, refer to 22:39 (EDIT: Mission accomplished) Also thanks to @Ohwagg (aka Wagg) for recommending Nanahira to me :) EDIT: Thank you all for the positive comments :D

I remember that day. I was chillin. Doin my stuff at work. I decided to listen to some Demon Dice on Spotify. I didnt queue anything after so it went into rando stuff. wow, youtube recommended me a video I want to watch AGAIN D:
bro, this video is amazing ! +1 sub. We finally have more people interested in the history of rhythm games :D :D :D :D
ヤサイマシ⭐️ニンニクアブラオオメis usually said to be customizations to a ramen dish, meaning “large portion of vegetables, extra garlic and oil”
oh nice, I watched your video on Sakuzyo a couple months ago and now you've reappeared in my recommended videos thanks to the youtube algorithm! great work!
your work is SOOOO underrated for all this info you got out, you deserve more viewers
Nanahira, my queen.
You should try DM DOKURO. Even though he became popular through the Terraria Calamity mod, he still makes music and even maps in certain rhythm games.
Only 2k subs wtf, when I was watching this video I thought it was one of those big documentary channels or something lol. Keep up the great work man!
Interesting watch. Even though I dabbled in NND a bit back in the day, I don't remember when I first heard of nanahira, it just became a name I had seen here and there in writing to someone who was making waves, almost overnight (that's just how it felt lol, I watched the video)
Just a note that Nana Haruka, the voicebank created from nanahira's voice, is classified as an UTAU or utauloid or however you want to refer to them, but not a vocaloid.
I really liked this video. So much insight on Nanahira! Ty for this :D
Really interesting and a good Research work
Always love these videos you make. Always love to hear about the music and artist behind some of my fav songs. And good job on 1k!!
we stan Haruka Nana! I didnt even know she was voiced by Nanahira (or maybe I did but I forgot)
Giga-P - Pinko Stick Luv : v=-yg7VXI--Y8
cillia - KOISURU☆BEAM : v=gcqryTwzzvE
RINGO - Banana : v=A_f5kEDPcyQ
PinocchioP - Common World Domination : v=B7Oo5kVBaDA
Omoi - Teo : v=j88n51SMU-8
Holy shit! Nanahira is Haruka Nana???? Damn I did NOT know that
And I’m sure a million people have already commented this but she’s not a Vocaloid, she’s an UTAU which is more like a home made DIY Vocaloid programme.
"when sound voltex went global"
me in germany where no arcades with a cabinet exist: man.
From which point youtube algorithm did it's thing and I got lot of obscure Nanahira songs in my recommended (just copypasta from NND)
But even as someone who didn't understand much Japanese back then youtube had plenty of very popular Nanahira songs uploaded there (unofficially) and she seemed very popular.
Only time will tell~
i appreciate the use of the Hang Castle BGM, based as fuck
YES! Nostalgia hit when I heard that cause I played Sonic Heroes like 11 years ago :D
Holy crap this channel and all of this videos are so high effort new sub
found her on touhou songs like insane frightfully flandre
Really love a lot of her songs in Osu. Alongside Xi, Sakuzyo, Team Grimoire, and Camellia you're gonna jam to their music and jam your keyboard XD
such a high quality video, definitely need more subscribers
i knew about the play on words of the messaging app LINE, but i always had it in the back of my mind it was also a reference to bassline, the genre of UK music thats used in the track. id like to know your thoughts on that.
Holy... I have been a Nanahira fan for a long time but I have never heard a majority of this. Thank you!
Wow I sat through this whole video thinking this was some multi hundred thousand sub channel until the last minute or so when you thanked for 1k. This video was pieced together beautifully and explained a topic I didn’t know much about while keeping it entertaining thank you!
i just clicked on this with no intention to watch it and I ended up watching the whole thing. great video!
I sure have stumbled upon a treasure of a channel
Ok i'll be waiting for namirin's video coming in a few years ;)
dude ur videos are high quality asf more please~
Amazing research put into this video, looking forward to more of these history videos!
Before asking for Camellia next, refer to 22:39 (EDIT: Mission accomplished)
Also thanks to @Ohwagg (aka Wagg) for recommending Nanahira to me :)
EDIT: Thank you all for the positive comments :D
there's no comments tho lol
talking about the entire comment section lol
@@rinnythe16thoh I'm stupid sorry
I don’t think I’ve ever seen your channel, but this is such a good video!
Glad to say I'm in the top 1% of nanahira's spotify listener, I may be mentally unstable
This video popped off. Great job as always on digging into the history of rhythm game artists
Your videos have been getting better and better. I Thank you for giving these rhythm artists the exposure and credit they deserve. You have even helped me find more music to try. I Hope you continue to make this series. You deserve all the support you are getting. I hope you have a great day. Thank you.
For so long I dont know who Nanahira is and realizing I've been listening to her songs since I came here is just insane on how much she covers the rhythm game genre.
Bro this content is def top tier, should deserve more subscribers!
Amazing content dude, keep it up!
interesting vid and good research u have done there, u earned my sub man
bro, thank you for this series. these artists have been a large part of my life for at least a decade and its nice to finally learn about them. youre doing great work bridging the language barrier and piecing together timelines.
I feel grateful to you for making me more knowledgeable about one of my favorite singers. You really deserve more than 1k subscribers!
Nanahira is amazing, she got me into rhythm games as a whole.
This is such a good video, keep up the good work man!
THIS NEEDS MORE VIEWS!!
I ran into Nanahira's song on yt years ago, now it's like crack I have to take every other while.
Dude you are SO underrated! Keep up the good work!!
I always wanted to know more about her
Thanks for the documentary
Damn, this is crazy, I fuckin love it
I remember that day. I was chillin. Doin my stuff at work. I decided to listen to some Demon Dice on Spotify. I didnt queue anything after so it went into rando stuff. And thats how it played me her Bassbook song. And just as the beginning of this video said. I was lying to myself that I dont like her cause she sounds weird. Now Im just honest with myself. Shes incredible. Very addictive voice, with music that is just enjoyable to listen to. Really nice to see her history. Great video mate.
I'm pretty sure the album mentioned at 14:49 is called "Versus!"
The amount of research and digging you put into this is bloody insane, I'm just mindblowned with all this info and also wondering how i haven't seen this channel before. Great stuff man can't wait to see you and your channel grow
Also hope you get to clear that machine gun level someday that shit is freaking hard :')
this randomly got recommended to me. Great video!
silentroom and feryquitous hrga when
btw liking your videos, pretty great and revealing in some parts, and your voice is pretty comfortable, sounds like "it was meant to be", keep it up
Team grimoire history would be cool
👀
Coming soon
19:21 the meme is so strong it even exist before it was a meme
please never stop making these this series has so so much potential
Thanks so much for this, I really love Nanahira music known about her works for years and this was very informative and learned somethings I did not know.
wait what, I didn't even realize how few subs you have. The quality of your work and the obvious amounts of time and effort you spend on it scream to me that this would be a channel with hundreds of thousands of subs. You truly do an amazing job with these videos
11:21 kannabis cultivation in the background true man of culture 🙏
yeah nanahira is a treasure she gave us so much: bass book, warabimochi and ofc the most important : Frightfully-insane Flan-chan's frightful song XD
I've been playing osu! for a year and have never looked into Nanahira, it turns out some of my favourite maps use her voice woah. This documentary good
same exact. never even had a thought in my mind that "flying out to the sky" "ange du blanc pur" and "chikatto chika chika" (most farmy one) were sung by the same person lol
the song "Are You Doing the Bassline? (LOL)" is still my favorite from Force! so im glad to see her getting more love
U popped in my recommendation tbh, a surprising one but a welcomed one. I never heard of her until i heard the cirno song
Amazing work! I am a nanahira fan. It was bassbook that first drew me in. It was stuff like shuwa shuwa parifeit that kept me. Neko hacker and tkrism stuff next please
NEKO HACKER YESSS
