The old Park School looks much like my old grammar school In Eau Claire. Sadly it was razed in 1973. It was heated by coal & it had beautiful old hardwood floors, wrought iron coat hooks, huge windows. It was just beautiful! If love to come see your Park School & compare. Great video!!thanks !

Wish they could have kept the old water tower on the old Outigamie community college site with the KAUKAUNA Neon signage on top. it was unique., Hilltop bakery the blueberry jelly filled donuts which always ran down my chin, they still do as I had one last week and DICK's one of best drive-ins ever, many a Friday/ Saturday night was spend there, the oLD pool with its dressing rooms wire baskets and the hill around it which I know we all sat on up under the oak trees. This site is GREAT, relived many memories good and bad, no mention of the old VFW with its Friday dances, the yearly traveling carnival coming to town, etc. Hopefully this will bring back memories for those who were born raised and may still reside IN MY HOMETOWN.

Nicely done. I was raised on the Island (born 1955) so there's a nice shot of my neighborhood in the opening.

Nice job - great to see the city from the air, too - very impressive. Nice to reminisce about the old hometown

We were always told it was the sulfur sewage treatment plant that made the smell

The ONLY city, town, etc in the WORLD with a mascot being a galloping ghost, how cool is that. What an AWESOME logo for a trucking company. Always though it was neat looking, not that KKK horseman that used to be outside the new high school, put up that statue of OUR GALLOPING GHOST, just like the decal.

Hopefully you will answer. I am a member of the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution. I am looking for a DAR marker 1926 erected in Kaukauna to mark the beginning of an old wagon trail. The marker is missing can you help me locate the marker

Hi Sally, I wish I could help you. My knowledge doesn’t go much further than what’s in this video unfortunately- this was a school project a few years back. Have you contacted someone from the Town Hall?

Ms Buckingham did U ever succeed in finding that "DAR" marker?? Would be interested to know what U have as possible clues to where it was erected I assume along the wagon trail.

The Wisconsin ave bridge was one of ONLY two bridge like it in the world, when it was remodeled they stupidly gutted the entire lifting and lowering mechanism, NOW, today 02/07/2020 I heard rumors that the state is going to put it back together as the locks are supposed to reopen, I can only hope that is true as many a day I would sit by the locks across from Thilmanys fishing for bullheads watching boats go through only to get yelled at by my dad who was afraid I'd drown in the river, Never knew how he ALWAYS found out.

And its pronounced 'Tillmany', not 'Thillmany' as Germans cannot say the 'th' sound. Old joke, 'where do you find a tree in Little Chute? Its between 2 and 4!
