The guys did a great job of this Johnny Cash cover. Made it into a jazzy blues style. And they all look like some sort of criminals especially Tim & Adam. Remember this was done during quarantine so none of them were physically together. They were very creative during that time. Love the background train noises. Adam's beatboxing is crazy good & so is Tim's low notes.
Never apologize for your own opinion!! We can't expect everybody to like "every" song, right? If you're not into a jazz backing, that would be enough for you not to like it. They were having fun with this one which I enjoyed immensely. I really like it. You'll never hear them try to "duplicate" anybody in their covers. They always stay true to the original but will always put their own spin on it which I appreciate. That's one way to show respect to the original artist; keep it close to the original, but don't try to duplicate. That never works well for anybody. I enjoyed and appreciated your reaction. 😊👍 Thx!
I'm a die hard home fry, but there are a couple of their songs that I don't care for. I appreciate how great they sound, but I just don't care for the songs. To each, his own. I will say, this song/video was done during quarantine which is why they aren't together. They did others during quarantine that I think are some of their best work. I also love this performance because they did put their own spin on it while still staying true to the original melody. Enjoyed the reaction guys. Thanks !

This is one of my favorites. It’s a bluesy version. Loved Tim’s low notes. Adam’s beatboxing was tremendous. We think Tim (bass) did the crime, Adam belongs in the insane asylum and the others were accomplices. Haha. You guys need headphones if you’re going to listen to a cappella music. It sounds so much better on headphones. The boys heights are all wrong. The boys are tall between 6’1” - 6’4”. They filmed this during Covid so they weren’t together.
They had to put up their own backdrops and they have a sense of humor as you will see in some of their videos. The videography wasn't as good because they were separate in their own homes doing this during quarantine. I love their version of this. They always give credit and respect to the original singers, but as all covers should be, they always make it their own and it is different because there is really no comparison that should be made to a legendary artist or song. (but everyone does it anyway)
It's cool. They go for so many different styles and Folsom has been done in so many different ways. Some work for you, some don't. I didn't like Brothers in Arms or Born in the USA (You cannot outdo Springsteen). They crushed Ring of Fire so they can do Cash justice. Remember, this was one of their quarantine videos so they were social distancing and reflecting the attitudes of everyone who felt the lock downs sucked. Others they did were When a Man Loves a Woman (Austin kills it!), Quarantine (Funny), Meet in the Middle (Awesome transitions), Sea Shanty Medley (Fun but Meh!) I like this one.
To stay with the prison theme check out Unchained Melody. And not totally liking a song is okay by me. One of Tim Foust's solo doo wop numbers is a song I never really liked, even when he's singing it.
Are you talking about Will You Still Love me Tomorrow/Stay? I thought it was playful and he killed the high range. But if you want a masterful solo, go for Austin Bring Him Home. Worthy of Broadway.

The other eleven I play over and over, singing out loud and enjoying myself. (With my soundproofed windows closed, of course. Wouldn't want anyone to go through how off key I sound to the world.)
Enjoyed the reaction. No need to apologize for an honest opinion. Not every song is going to fit everyone. I thought Tim (second lead)and Chance(first lead) were good Leads for this. The deeper voices lined up with Johnny Cash. I will say that there’s no lead for the group, they all take turns depending on the song. However, I totally get why some people wouldn’t fully be into this version. It was a different feeling than Cash’s version. It’s not may favorite of their covers, but it did grow on me. The extra lines they added in two places threw me off a little the first time. It did grow on me. I enjoyed their other Cash cover more, Ring of Fire.
I'm a HF fan and there are songs I like better than others -- so honesty isn't going to make me run off. I'm old school country cuz I'm older than most, so Cash is a legend. I think Johnny's version was absolutely haunting. 💯

I didn't like when I first heard it but it has grown on me over time.
If you are going to do HF reactions you need headsets to really appreciate them. Makes a huge difference to be able to hear all the little things.
