Damien is as good as it gets for a decent Jamaican male… the problem is the level of contribution and dedication he is willing to make is not good enough to change the anything.

The main reason for Jamaican driving problems is the selling of drivers' license, especially
to people who can't read and who will not follow the rules of the road.

The main problem is that selling of DL is a known issue, and yet the govt has not conducted any under cover sting operations to catch and get rid of the sellers. Imagine if all the examiners could never be certain if the person offering them a bribe, was testing them. Or with today’s tech, they could probably bug the testing vehicle to collect video and audio evidence. It’s not a hard issue to fix… just a lack of will to do so.

Mannaz n Respect... Star, Im an ole fut Jamaican who live abroad but nevah lef yawd.. E seems like sey everytime mi go home mi notice the driving seems fi worsterah, yah man worsterah. Man a overtake all inna blind kawnah. Yes the blame needs to be shared,(1) Yes the Govt in many aspects,, pay the policeman dem better, also punish dem severely to reduce corruption amongst the force. Dedicate/form a hi-way/roadway patrol, not this step out in the road and flag yu down and den tell yu ow dem thirsty, or wha yu sey fi yu self, or "having or takin". Yu see all di dark tinted glass dem, if a nuh suh di car come, den tek di tint from of a the front glass dem. The yung yute dem who a drive 2000MPH tek wey dem car and mek dem payyyy fi get that rass bak. (2) We, di peeple, need fi lern propper mannaz and etiquette, we lost dat. just drive wid yu yeye dem upen yu hear sah, Jah guide and protect always....mi ave nuff fi sey but nex time yu hear sah...Blessed love

I was having this same conversation yesterday. The roads are poorly lit, the driving lines and signs are not properly done or have been destroyed and not repaired. Overall the MPs for majority of the areas are a disgrace because no work is being done and these ppl do get money for each constituency. They will make a lot of excuses but the results are quite evident of there lack of care or concern for the citizens of the country. Also, we can’t turn a blind eye to the corruption aspect of it. People that can’t read are buying licenses and the persons in charge are no better because I know of few person who drive for their license and they fail them repeatedly because they want their money from buying it. My country is just sad and I can’t see it getting any better because the citizens won’t demand more from these politicians or get rid of them.

Dale has observed the same things I have. I would never go overseas and send my very hard working money to anyone in Jamaica apart from my grandmother or I have to see you working and need my help. It’s ridiculous how they can not work and sit and depend on others and get up a party everyday. The part that baffles me is that ppl overseas actually send them money to these ppl, that’s called enabling. That’s why they won’t do anything better.

Don't say things like that bout $50! Fifty dollars NOW is easy to make but back in the days you have to consider 20 years ago it wasn't like how you see it now with recession. Plus rent/mortgage bills. $50/week is $200/mnth.

Nobody depending on money from abroad unless they are looking after the parents or children of those abroad. In which case it is money owed.

Shame that every generation who leaves Jamaica says the same, leave to send back or build back home but the mentality of the people won't allow it - but will let the Chinese and other foreigners come in and build.

Only a slave minded person to the Western society will pay bills before buying food.
I live in England and I'm listening to this dude, this kind of conversation is Important and every jamaican male must take responsibility for the failure of jamaica.
We failed by believing in the politricks, we failed because we didn't unite, we failed because of negative music/message we promote, we failed because we left the country, we failed bcus we didn't protect our females and the land.
Once we take responsibility and identifying where we went wrong. With responsibility and pride of honour jamaica can be rebuilt, if you start your conversation with; them or you and not us or we then jamaica will get worse.

Similar to the way the Africans have yet to take responsibility for selling their brothers and sisters to strangers, a sin for which they are still paying the price.
