  • Funny how one 15a fuse can ruin your day
The fuse inside this Dometic DMC4081 12v refrigerator installed in our Ember 171FB blew.
So i went on a mission to find it and replace it.

I just happened on this. I bought my Ember 191 about a month prior to this video and the dealership couldnt fix this simple blown fuse, exactly as the video shows. My first camping trip was without a working fridge. I then replaced this fuse and the fridge worked over several trips before it blew again. As far as I can tell, the fuse blows when the battery gets lower - when volts go down, amps go up.
I also installed a 13.8 voltage regulator on the 12 volt fridge circuit as I found the unit to totally shut off during momentary voltage drops, possibly when the water pump kicks on.

When the inverter goes into sleep mode just go turn the main battery disconnect off then back on, it will wake up... Well, mine does on the 191MDB.

Thank you. I'll try that next time.

Dang, lots of work to get to that fuse (and put everything back together). Hopefully it was some kind of weird electrical spike that blew it, and won’t happen again!

Who knows! I keep some spares now and I left that big cover off in case it happens again

Once you have done it a few times, replacing this fuse takes less than five minutes.
