crazy guy, stock pegs yet a dual motor, the legend :)
God i cant wait to see this thing FLY when you give it the beans!
Yea it will be interesting for sure. This thing will be a torque factory
Great to see the the project coming along well 🙌🏻
This is such an interesting 'try it and see' project. Love it.
YOU SICK SICK HUMAN... I LOVE IT !
Your absolutely mad mate! I love it
This is soo cool like I told you in the group keep up the great work can’t wait to see it go
Very interesting video. I saw your comment regarding voltage sag, perhaps you'd be able to incorporate super capacitors to compensate for it. Obviously they'll eat in to your size or Ah capacity, but I have a feeling this bike is going to be "for a good time, not a long time".
had to make a custom distrubution unit though for everything to plug into, which wasnt easy as space is at a premium ,had to made bigger under box for controller and supacaps boards .the major possitive is can charge the bike at up to 80 amps at 82 volt now for crazy fast charging
I had to subscribe after seeing this. Can’t wait to see what power this thing will dish out when it’s done 😳
Thanks mate. It's going to be very interesting. I received the main speed controller today. It will take a few days to figure out how to mount it, wire it up and program it. I have never dealt with sensored motors before so the learning curve will be steep.
Thank u for the otocad
Had to watch with subtitles because I couldn't understand him. Great build man, hope it works
Thanks man! I'm surprised the subtitles work, my accent is so thick even I can barely understand me haha
Absolutely beautiful
Excellent work mate ! Looking forward to the next video 💯
Thanks mate! Hopefully the momentum builds from here
LOOKS INSANE!
😱 that looks exciting...
I really want to see this test drive!
Great idea put to action😁👍
are you sure those mgm controllers will have features youll need like foc control and multi controller syncing the asi units are the best for bike related ive tested.the mgms are escs so wont be as quiet or smooth as sinewave foc units
Waiting for ride test
NICE WORK!
Thanks!
O.O this is op i luv it
1st let me say amazing build really like it and...I would LOVE to take the bac4000 or 8000 off your hands if your just going to toss it. It would make my life so much easier since i wouldn't have to bust my azz doing doordash which is eating away at my battery life since im charging 2-3xs a day when im doing door dash which is 2-3 days a week to save up for the a new controller and battery
Sweet
Y not install a 5 speed cassette gearbox. Like normal bikes
First one is a 52T sec is 48t
The big sprocket on the bike is a 60t. Way to low geared for this setup. Not sure about the others.
Are you selling the B ac4000?
You said you were throwing the BAC 4000 in the garbage...I have this on my Surron and compared to many other controllers, it outperforms all of them easily...dare I ask why you are discarding it like this?
I have to commend you. That is a brilliant piece of engineering. Why bother with a bigger motor, when you can so cleanly fit a second motor in there? Have you measured the power draw and efficiency of two motors vs. one at the same Watt output? I'm thinking that it could be more efficient because neither motor will be stressed and producing heat for similar power output. Let me know if you produce this as a kit. I'm interested!
Thanks Walt, yea you hit the nail on the head, the added motor mass of the second motor allows for more thermal inertia during and faster heat dissipation after high power pulls, plus by not pushing any one motor quite as hard you get better overall efficiency so you get less heat produced in the first place.
@@danielclarke7109 I would love to put one of these setups on my Sur-Ron. Absolutely brilliant! Here's a little corny video I threw together on my Sur-Ron that kind of steps through some of the additions. ruclips.net/video/tblwpJz9nLA/видео.html Maybe there are a few ideas you can glean from it.
Looking forward to seeing the dyno results. The bac8000 on the stock puts out 24hp
I
Yea I got 23rwhp with the BAC8000 with a 21s lipo pack but the batteries were -10 degrees C so voltage was only around 62V at full power. I will be running a 24 or 25s LiPo pack so voltage at full power will be in the 80s, so I think 27rwhp from the main motor will be possible. Add another 13rwhp from the second motor and we are looking at 40rwhp which is my goal.
Is the main part one piece billet? If so, that is a big chunk to begin with.
No, it's actually 3 piece. The ring is separate, the motor plate is separate and the main tube is separate. They all bolt together nicely though.
@@danielclarke7109 Do you plan on going into production?
No, the motor is far too expensive for anyone to consider this modification. They are 2100 euros each, plus you have to buy another speed controller and the machined parts are US$600. No-one would pay that.
@@danielclarke7109 Thanks for your response. I can't wait to see it running.
Mr Daniel, hey from UAE, excellent product. Is it available in UAE?
The files to build this are available on GrabCad.com, search for Surron and you will see it.
You already mentioned this somewhere about it being too expensive to sell but would you consider doing something like a commission where you would make and send them the part after they paid and give them links to the other parts?
Or sell like an online model and I would make it myself
I've already upload the files and drawing to GrabCad for free. I fully intend to make this entire build drawing and CAD files and all of the data and settings I discover available online for free. I want people all over the world to be able to build this bike for the lowest possible cost. I could try and make money off it but I don't need the money and frankly I couldn't be bothered.
How much for controller ? I'll buy it off you 👌👍 lovely wachting you're build
Thanks mate. Sorry, I already sold it
@@danielclarke7109 no problem keep up good work 👍👌
You’re a madman! Insane setup.. Where you going to get/fit a battery to do that monster motor setup justice?
Thanks mate. For details on the battery, check update #2 on my channel. The sound is crap because I dont know much about editing vids but you can get the picture.
Hello I have a question please ! Did you know if the Bac 8000 can run two Hub motor it's for two qs205 hub motor and if it's fit a 12 inch wheels ?
I want to do a motorcycles with the frame of the Honda grom125 with two qs205 with a 72v 48ah battery pack: 20s x 12 p using Samsung INR 21700 40T 35A !
The goals is to set the peak power to 20 kw top speed 80 mph and acceleration 0-60 mph in 5 sec ! Weight will be around 160 lbs !
Hi, no you can't run two motors off the one ESC. It doesn't work like that. You have to use two seperate ESCs. Other than that, what you propose seems possible
Why the controller is going to garbage?
My controller just stopped working too asi 4000w
It only runs up to 84V and you can't program it so it is totally useless. This is the BAC8000
Awesome job with the mechanicals on fitting that extra motor! Just curious, was it not possible to fit a second full sized Sur-Ron motor by re-mounting the OEM motor location further forward another 20-30mm?
Thanks! Anything is possible, but the biggest problem you would have is the stock motor is way too wide to clear the rear drive chain. Also, you would struggle to build a battery pack powerful enough to feed two of the stock motors without it becoming too big and heavy. My battery pack is right on the limit as it stands.
@@danielclarke7109
The battery power limit doesn't seem like a challenge to me, but that's my specialty. If you run into a bottleneck, a custom pack can fix it.
@@LukeLiveforphysics interesting, what sort of packs do you build? I am running a 24s 44ah 40c LiPo pack for this build, but I think though the voltage sag will become excessive over about 40kW of draw. Not enough to power 2x OEM motors.
@@danielclarke7109 I've got some pouches that do 130C discharge peak, and 100C for a minute. They are well suited for the high power to weight toys. I'm sure your bike will be more than enough power to wreck everything you race with it! Great job!
How much are you selling the bracket kit?? 😜🚀💪
You can just download the files from grabcad.com/library/surron-dual-motor-mount-motor-and-transmission-2 and send them to a machine shop to get them built. I'm not interested in selling them myself.
Once everything is dialed in and working properly, will you have any plans of selling this as an aftermarket kit?
As much as I would love to sell this as a kit, it just doesn't stack up economically. This stuff is really expensive and no-one would be willing to she'll out the cash sadly. I am posting all the files and drawings to GrabCad for public consumption and I know of one guy building this but I'd be surprised if there was more than a handful of people with deep enough pockets.
@@danielclarke7109 okay...thank you for the reply and really looking forward to the end result of your build
No worries mate thanks for the interest!
Dont throw it in the garbage I’ll take it
ILL BUY YOUR OLD CONTROLLER! Message me 🙏🏻
Sorry mate, already sold it
Wow nice build ... 30kw from a surron motor 🤣🤣🤣 forum talk 🤣🤣 20 ok ... Bac 8k is perfect for this project 👍 Battery will be tricky
I’ll take the bac if you’re just throwing it away my sur-Ron is still stock
Lol, your range is going to be sooo bad. Still an interesting not very practical project.
Actually, with the 4kWh battery pack I am going to run and higher efficiency due to having two lightly loaded motors instead of one heavily loaded motor, my range will be almost double a standard SurRon.
Good as a concept but completely useless for practice. Yes it works for heat dissipation if you need it as I read but considering the weight not the optimal solution
