I knew she was on PP before GA but I never watched PP. This 2-minute clip is the first time I've ever watched something from PP so it's weird for me to see her here as well.
@@itsqueerinhere Nah, PP is really awful, in kinda the Bold and the beautiful style, lol. But I watched for Amelia and didn't regret. It made me love her more. And unfortunately - I don't love anymore Addison, she was brilliant character in GA, in PP she's too much and just meh
Did ya start at season 1 It felt like each season got better than the last I loved watching all of Private Practicing And for Greys Anatomy I loved watching all the way to season 15 After that season i lost interest a bit but I’ve seen scenes from season 16 & 17 and I like a couple of the stories but i just haven’t watched all of em Not the same feeling I had when it’
They did it when derek died, then S12 when they were arguing here Addison said all throw you out of my house, Meredith literally did it she told her move out of my house and she ran back to alcohol which when Mer was attacked she relapses again even Richard told him the day of the attack you can't see Mer until you sobber, the tough love she got and she know Mer is not like Addison Richard told her she has to get her head straight and Mer was not taking her busllshit even when she went to Mer when her jaws were locked and she say I know I talk too much and it irritates you she had to get straight and the first person she gave the sober chip was Mer
Amelia: Are you talking in riddles now? Are you the riddler? Are you riddling me stuff now because I think I might need a pen to write this down. Lol 😂😂😂😂
This scene unlocked a memory for me. During my middle school and high school years, I struggled with an extreme eating disorder, and eventually, developed a problem for drinking and pills too. At some point, my parents had enough of me and staged an intervention for me when I was at a rehearsal one night. When I came home, they locked us in the room I was sleeping in with a therapist. They basically told me I had 3 options, I get my shit together, I go to rehab, or I get the fuck out. After that, I spiraled out for at least a couple more years.
In order to understand Amelia character on Greys Anatomy you gotta watch private practice on netflix season 5 cause it explains so much of her past. They don't really discuss Amelia past struggles on GA and so peope don't really understand her but we grew to love her and she's in a different place now
Love the actress and I really appreciate Amelias struggles with drugs and mental health and everything. It takes a strong person to get through that. But I just could never like her as a character. When she was sober. I just found her dramatic and annoying. I will say that I first saw her on greys so maybe that’s why but could just never jump on the Amelia train. This was a fantastic episode though.
This makes me much more understanding of why Derek really did not want her around him, Meredith and their kids. I remember thinking he was an ass for being so hard and distant with Amelia but now seeing what Addison is seeing it’s understandable.
Im Dead inside It’s a medication called Buprenorphine (Amelia called it ‘Bup’). Buprenorphine is a partial mu agonist, and a controlled substance. It is intended for people who abuse narcotic medications such as oxycodone (aka “oxy). The way it works is the Buprenorphine offsets narcotics in the brain receptors (also called mu receptors; narcotic drugs like oxycodone bind to these type of receptors in the brain). Another drug that does is is called naloxone(Aka Narcan). Naloxone is a mu antagonist; it COMPLETELY offsets narcotic drugs from these mu receptors. The difference is when someone takes Narcan, they IMMEDIATELY go into withdrawal (chills, heart racing, etc.) Buprenorphine reverse the effects of narcotics but because of its design it DOES NOT put someone in withdrawal. ALSO, it increases a patient’s tolerance threshold really high so they can’t get high even if they take narcotics right after. What’s my source? Well, me; I’m a licensed clinical pharmacist. Mind you I am doing something all the top of my head w/o checking my resources or Google so my terminology and explanation may not be 100 percent correct but the concept is. I hope this answered your question.
@@zhabtema it partially fills the opiate receptors so that if a person was to take oxy’s or heroin, they wouldn’t feel anything from it. Ive never heard it reverses the effects but more that it basically blocks the effects. I believe Narcan is what reversed th effects and that’s why they are able to save people that overdosed with it. I know because I take suboxone. However I have never heard of Bupe being dissolved in water and taken that way. It’s a film or pill that sits under your tongue until it dissolves. Was it prescribed to be taken dissolved in water in the past?
@J. H. for as long as they need. There is no time limit, every person is different. Some people take it short term to detox and others need it long term however I believe their are studies showing that it’s most effective when used for at least a year or longer because the medication is only one aspect of addiction. You also need to change people, places and things, which the medication can’t do.
@@SamanthaD89 Personally never heard of it dissolved in water. I imagine it’s possible with the film maybe but I also imagine the excipients from the film would get in there (basically, it would look like water with dirt in it, so who would willingly drink that?)
At 0:56 she said I will call your brother but didn’t Derek say he only has sisters so how does Amelia have a second brother if she has only sister left or was this before Derek dead
How the hell did Amelia get so out of control? I am not happy that she became an alcoholic it’s going to kill her from the inside out it’s not something that can easily desolate with medication she has to quite doing that so she can get her life back on track she needs to get her crap together and she needs to realize alcohol is like deadly poison!

Amelia’s character was well written... like I loved her... as dark she went ...she always overcomes
Life will out
Nobody appreciates Private Practice, when it's just as good of a show...
Honestly I never watched because I didn't care for addison at first.
Eh, I didn't like the first two seasons. I think it starts off way slower than Grey's Anatomy

Seeing amelia in private practice is so weird, in GA, shes so bright and bubbly
Well not really, more like she overcame her problems in GA but she wasnt all bright and bubbly.
Greys didnt have her high, all of this happened before she started on Greys
she is bubbly and bright in pp too, the thing is they showed her relapsing which is the worst version of herself
Grey's Anatomy had it easy with Amelia.... This version is just wow.

I'm sorry but the directing looks like the office, like wtf
yeah it does i think there was a reason it was filmed like this but i haven’t seen pp in forever so i don’t remember
yea these episodes were filmed weird but the rest of them were filmed like normal drama shows
here amelias voice really sound like caterina
It's private practice another show that she was on
Jada Shaw its a spin off of grey's anatomy. Main character is Addison after she left Seattle and this is Amelia before going to Seattle.
Katerina M it has been a while but thanks for replying to my comment
IT'S TRUDY PLATT
Does anyone remember the scene where she crushed pills with a stapler? Am I making that up? If not, is it on RUclips?
Yeah it's on here I'm pretty sure
its in the same ep as this video

It’s in this episode scene 17
I forgot about Charlotte King. I miss this show.
TRUDY PLATT!!!
I used to take bupe one time I took it too early and got so sick
I forgot Amy Morton was on Private Practice
May I ask what is the episode in private practice where Derek's 4 sisters showed?
it was on an episode of greys anatomy and it was just 3 out of the 4.

I thought that was her!

This takes place during seasons 4-10 of Greys anatomy so Derek is alive
why did they call her amy at first ?
It's just a nickname for Amelia
It was Derek's childhood nickname for her.
See if you’ve never watched private practice than you have no right to have an opinion on Amelia bc this rlly shows her hitting Rock bottom
this is my favorite private practice episode
Never ever ever go against family
Hi, I looked all seasons of gray's anatomy and I did not see any of those episodes, can you tell me why?

What’s the drug they put in the water?
Buprenorphine, its to bind to her opiod receptors and block the oxycontin she takes to get high
Didn't know Platt met Amelia.
Honestly Amelia and Charlotte are amazing in this show but PP wasn’t good
You're right. It was GREAT.
It was a good show, but it’s pretty slow. Mid season 3 it’s when it’s starts getting REAL good
Que temporada e essa ?
5 de private practice

What timeline is this in gray’s anatomy???
