- VIRTUA COP 3 - SEGA 2003 gameplay, all missions complete, including all cuts and ending.
I still haven't received my RGB-splitter cable so getting good hits was difficult due to the inherent image lag. I played on the capture screen which isn't optimal for instant reaction, the capture screen outputs about one frame behind the actual game which leaves me blind for about 1/60 of a second. In many situations Virtua Cop 3 requires almost instant aim & fire, so please excuse my somewhat sloppy show.

Source: SEGA CHIHIRO (VGA RGB), 2 channel audio. Files then converted using TVC 3.12 using following parameters:
Video: AVI-h264 1280x720 'custom res' (4:3) 60 fps / 5000kbs
Audio: 44100 / 128kbs
Crop left: 28 pixels
Crop right: 8 pixels

@@AzukiPsan Not just that but a single bullet fired can result in a 3 page report on its own. And that's just the average length of one report. If you accidentally shot a civilian...you're gonna have a LOT of explaining to do also.
Remember playing this game at an arcade. I just loved it, and could spend hours diving into this game. I would love if they did a remake of this for the new generation of consols 🙏

I just don't get why this game was never even merely ported onto console, while the first two were? I know one for the original Xbox was planned, but cancelled, due to Sega needing to make it's own light gun which would have been compatible with the game, but wasn't feasible. But a port on the Wii, and/or the PS3 would have been more than doable with that being said however.
Did anybody notice that when you reload before the clip runs empty, you actually gets a fresh clip plus one round in chamber?
Holy hell, that’s a pretty advanced feature for such a simple arcade rail shooter FROM 2003. I mean even as late as 2015, only some shooter games have that feature with their weapons.

I remember when I used to play through this game on the arcade. My best run is that I can get all the way up to the Level 3 boss without loosing a life by myself. The level 3 boss and stage 4 were where I start to lose lives.

Open world adventure with mixture of crime solving puzzle, tactical shooting, Stealth, RPG (mixture of L.A. Noire, Crackdown, Rainbow Six, Splinter Cell),
Turn based strategy like XCOM,
Real Time Strategy like Syndicate,
Point and click Adventure games like Police Quest
Now that I'm older, this game looks very Metal Gear.
Same - Gale=Cyborg Ninja, Glitter made me think of Mantis, the subtitle font is even the same as MGS' (Fontworks Rodin)

Ah.. not as such. The Chihiro doesn't have the sound-test like SEGA's earlier game systems with the music. There's only a "speaker test" where you hear a beep sound from either of the speakers. I'm not sure how to rip the music really, sorry.
+Tomas Dahlgren ah figures! that's a real shame, oh well,Dam Sega why wouldn't they keep that feature :L you'd think cause it has a gd-rom it would be capable. i think might finally have the know how to be able to use the quality from this video, muffle out the sound effects, piece the sections of bgm together and have it on an extended loop but meh!

Sadly it's not on PC. I play this game on the Chihiro system. It's kind of an advanced version of the old xbox.

Seriously awesome looking man. I need to figure out how to get an IR light gun set up or something so I can play the shooting games I have someday :(
Thanks. I think this is by far the most advanced shooter, mindning things like aim and skill. Contrary to the zombie-shooters this one requires priority of targeting and strategy, not only a quick trigger finger. It also has a very interactive scenery with plenty of destructable items.
You can play it with an analog joystick, use a good pilot stick with trigger and thumb button for reload. It takes some practice but you get some benefits from it, as well as certain drawbacks. I play these shooters with a Happ analog from Cyber Sled, just like I play Planet Harriers. It has great precision when new or serviced. Just like a wild west gunslinger you need to practice on the positioning, knowing where your aim is at any moment. I had lot's of xy-practice on Lost World a few years ago as I only had a Star Wars Trilogy cab to play it on.
I have never played Virtura Cop 3, but I think it was a great improvement over Virtura cop 2
my mom told me it was in an arcade in sheffield over the phone and i was shocked by saying WHAT! then i said look at it again does it say virtua cop 3 then she said yeah then a few weeks later i went there with my dad and played it then it was brilliant i completed it with 1 credit last time i played it when it was at the bowling alley i went to i wasnt happy when my friend told me it was gone

Cool! This first version is very difficult to find this day. Most of the VC3 cabinets are the updated version. The different between them is just 8-digi and 9-digi score counter.
Thanks for the info. I have only this version, I netboot my Chihiro and play on my 51" plasma screen. I didn't know there were other revisions of the game.

I think there are many antagonists in this game.
Stylistically, this game reminds me more of Time Crisis than Virtua Cop.
yes...the soundtrack in this game is not fun cheesy like the other 2 virtua cop games, the bad guys all wearing some military gear uniforms instead of casual gang style dress (you know, like those who hang out at bars with glasses, sleeveless, etc)

I remember playing this game on the arcade, I finished all 3 missions up to the extra with just 1 token, (I played it so many times that I memorized every enemy and boss patterns including their number of hits before flinching or backing away.) and when I got bored I used 2 tokens and dual wield both guns up to the end....good times...

I don't get the point of the magnum weapon pickup. If it's meant to do more damage then that's pointless because every standard enemy dies in one shot. If the extra damage is for bosses, that's also pointless because you'll probably never still have it by the time you reach a boss.

It's SEGA's Chihiro system hooked to a VGA monitor, played with an analog joystick just for testing purpose. I haven't got the complete machine.

Listen carefully, they are different. Maybe same sample banks from the same synth, but different.
For the multiple Fang clone fight, you're suppose to shoot each lock on circle as their appear in order. If you gun down fang without destroying his 2 weapon pods first, they'll come crashing into you and they got a lot of health to boot. It may seem hectic at first, but it's actually quite easy

I loved playing this every time after my music class at the arcade just a year before turn it into gacha shops and now food court.
Yeah would of been an easy port on xbox too as the arcade hardware was almost identical .. so annoying
Sega was going to port this game to Xbox but gutted it because the cost of releasing a lightgun for it for this game was deemed too high.

Good job, 94% is the hit rate? Looks like I got about 34% in this game. It's only a test of the hardware really, I used an analog stick to play as I was too lazy getting my gun gear wired. Probably is why my aim isn't that accurate.

Last time I played this was in the arcades back in 2009 and its cabinet sits right next to THOTD 3 upright cabinet with matching shotgun light gun.
