That is the life that I witness and grew up in. My Name is Louis Papail Jr and I am sure that is my Dad Louis Papail Sr salting and icing the Cod Fish in the fishing plant on this CBC show call " Land and Sea". I was 9 or 10 years old then and most of the kids I grew up with and seeing their face back then it seems like it was yesterday. Us Newfoundlanders should be very proud of ourselves on how we lived during those times. Thank you CBC and to Peter's story. A film like this bring up many stories.
Nothing. But RESPECT. for that man

love the vintage episodes
Been binge watching Land and Sea the last few days ! Awesome man I love Newfoundland and i'm never leaving no matter how bad the economy gets !
I am Norwegian and have all my life felt a connection to New Foundland. I hope I can see New Foundland before life is over. I understand very well that you are staying there! Beauty also means something to the human mind, not just the pursuit of money. As long as you have a roof over your head and a job to go to.
@@maidsua4208 just make the connection between the words...New and Foundland, and you can visit anytime ;) Just like this... Newfoundland
I live in fort mac but every time I go back home I go jiggin' with my grandfadder and I love watching videos like this of how they did it back then
Fellow Hennebury here. Glad you posted this bud.
Great show. Must be good to have these old shows especially for the families involved.
Chuck Norris calls Peter for fishing tips
i fished with my uncle 50,s 60,s all handline fishing, there was a lot of fish then, wish it was still the same, not a fish left in the places we went, and would make 25 to 40 bucks a week....from 1 to 4 cents a pound then, it was great..nice show
Another dandy show, thanks for posting. Keep em coming.
There are riches here way beyond and mans wildest imagination!! Thanks Peter I will stop in to see ya the next I'm home!

Hard way of living, but at least we were happy.I miss those old days.
It was hard. But a lot easier then life today.
That’s the reason for the decline in cod stocks , “there buying everything “ shame

Good old days

Can some one tell me which year this is produced?
Second half of the 1900s I'm guessing.
Seems before the 90s
I’d say early 80”s
1983..I was 6...peter is my father
