I think an Al Ewing Martian Manhunter could be interesting. Maybe in the Superman role.
Certainly. Although I have to admit that any book Ewing takes on at DC is exciting to me.
re: X-Men #1: everything that comes after Krakoa was bound to be underwhelming, but I was pleasantly surprised by it...I'm willing to give this one a go for at least another 3 issues to see where it's headed. I think the new Uncanny will be better though. As someone who has been reading X-Men since the halcyon days of Claremont I have obviously read better X-Men relaunches but the flipside of that is that I've also read a hell of a lot worse - some of the utter crap that was being churned out in the 90s readily springs to mind! So yeah I'm gonna stay onboard! Great show as usual, despite the huge time difference down here down under haha, one day I will surprise you all and actually be commenting live...unfortunately life has a had a habit of preventing this lately! Keep up the good work!!
As I said during the episode, even though I didn't enjoy this issue all that much, I'm not out on the series. There's plenty of room for it to improve. I hope it ends up being incredible! Is it possible that this is more like Heroes Reborn and will last for a year rather than being ongoing like OG Ultimate or a long-term finite structure like Nu-Ultimate?
I suppose it is possible, but I would say it’s unlikely. This has the potential to be huge for DC, and if it is, I can’t see them giving that up after a year. They need something big to keep up with Marvel and Energon, and this has the potential to be that.
Honestly on the ultimates #1 livestream when Sean expressed the idea that this is a metaphor for how our parents, and older generations have failed us, I thought it was a little far fetched. I read the issue again, and the letter, and after reading this issue Sean was absolutely cooking. Deniz Camp is so amazing, and you picked out exactly what he was hitting on imo. I thought you were crazy, but naw Sean that was a great insight, thanks
