EMH is one of the TV shows that I'd most like to see return, It's crazy that it's been over 10 years since it was cancelled and yet so many people still regard it as one of their favorite Marvel series
Too bad it doesn't have the nostalgic factor that the 90's Marvel shows have lol. I'd love to see more of this series, especially if they stopped trying to force in MCU synergy and generally dumb down the show like they did in the latter half of season 2.
As a long-time X-Men fan and fan of the original series, even though I wasn't born when the show was around, HOLY S*** , THIS SERIES IS EXCEPTIONAL (pun intended). Now this is how you do a tv show revival successfully! No joke, this series is so masterfully well written, with absolutely phenomenal animation and truly compelling characters and complex, deep, dark themes that genuinely make you question the inherent societal bigotry and how to process internal thoughts of fighting for equality and how to do so in a way to help society grow from the status quo of discrimination and to do more than allow yourself to become numb to a neverending struggle that you feel like isn't your responsibility. Truthfully, this series is some of the *BEST MARVEL MEDIA WE'VE EVER SEEN SINCE ENDGAME* (except No Way Home, GOTG3 and Loki)! Compared to how phenomenal this series was, Fox movies seem like amateur student films with such a bare-bones understanding of how truly incredible and insane the X-Men stories can be when you truly hire people who care about these amazing characters. After watching this show and its epic finale, Bastion became one of my favourite X-Men/Marvel villains. Theo James especially gave a superb performance as Bastion; now, whenever I read a comic featuring Bastion, I'll hear his voice. Not only him but the entire voice cast, especially for Cyclops, Magneto, Storm, Jean, Charles, Gambit, Rogue, Jubilee, Wolverine, Morph, and Nightcrawler, all did a tremendous job. Bro; the number of cameos in this series is insane! Cyclops and Jean saying goodbye to Cable/Nathan had me in tears🥺. 10/10 SEASON 1 I NEED A SEASON 2 NOW!!!
I completely agree with all your points! This show really was exceptional and some of the best Marvel media we've seen recently (and ever if I'm being honest lmao). I really can't wait for Season 2!! I can only hope it's just as good as the first season, and I'm beyond excited to see how they handle Apocalypse
I love x-men 97 it was really amazing and badass and I am hoping with this success this could open the door for a revival for Spider-Man the animated series which would be fantastic in my opinion.
A couple points: Wally West isn't an unresolved cliffhanger. He died. Obviously they couldn't show him literally disintegrating into nothingness in a TV-PG show, but he's not supposed to return. The Speed Force doesn't exist in the show's continuity. It's why season 3 focuses more on how his loved ones deal with his loss. Also, while I agree that Halo's deaths felt too much and were gratuitous, they did serve the plot later in the season when Helga Jace manipulated Halo into thinking they were dying each time they were using their powers. They weren't just there for no reason.
Oh yeah, Wally is most likely meant to be dead, but the problem with his death and why it feels like it lacks closure is because that scene was clearly alluding to Barry's sacrifice on Crisis on Infinite Earths since they were both running together beyond light speed, but to subvert the audience's expectations they had Wally disappear instead of Barry. Since in the comics this was later retconned with Barry having been lost in the Speed Force it's only natural to think that the same could've happened with Wally in YJ, though that doesn't seem to be the case now. Also, regarding the Speed Force, in his personal website Greg Weisman responded to a fan question saying that there is no Speed Force in Earth 16, but he said that around the time that Season 1 was airing and in the years after he went on to say that "if Earth 16 exists no one on that reality has ever heard of it", because in the DC multiverse there's a rule to the concept that every speedster across all universes draw their power from the Speed Force, but Weisman doesn't address it on the show because he personally doesn't like the concept. Because Wally's death was unsatisfyingly addressed it feels like it's been unresolved, like it lacks closure, especially since during Season 2 itself he already felt like he lacked development and screentime, which made his death feel all the more rushed and forced. I guess this is why I don't totally dislike the revival seasons of Young Justice, it has good ideas but sometimes it fails in its execution, like with Halo's deaths, of course overall they served the plot, but individually each death felt like it was done for shock value and the character was used as a crutch to have some violence rather than actually killing off a more significant character to up the stakes. Halo as a character had potential, but they ended up being used as Kenny from South Park lol
You should do X-Men Evolution, and also compare it to Teen Titans since that aired around the time Evolution was coming to an end with the Apocalypse arc.
6:37 Yh Halo was literally just around to Justify the new adult rating. She has like one dimension as a character, constantly confused💀 Season 3 and 4 were hot garbage😭. They take EVERYTHING BAD about Season 2, Isolates them, and MULTIPLIES. NONE of Seasons 1s charm is present
97's pacing storywise was a bit quick at times however it was still pretty awesome nonetheless. The same with the animation and designs of the characters and the depth. Some things were odd to me though. Wolverine was barely used as much and some have pointed out how Jean always is either is all about Scott or death. But that is ok since they are still very good and solid characters. Young Justice Outsiders could have worked out however the original seasons had some of these same issues like Static Shock got introduced into the team and wasnt used or treated like a big deal while at the time it was. However at least the original show was very good and had very smaller issues than the revival. It was very depressing seeing the characters just do nothing, not even move their mouthes during the first episode of Outsiders.
Oh man I was so excited when they introduced Static into Young Justice, he's one of the characters that I really wish they would've used more, it got really frustrating when the show just started introducing so many characters only for them to be mostly ignored, and it is true that the original 2 seasons are also guilty of this (especially season 2).
@@SantiBarrios I hated how they made him more of a 2 dimensional typical teenage boy in Young Justice. Rather than the relatable and likable character he was in the animated series prior to Young Justice. Even if he was a jerk in Young Justice, they could have built from that and evolved him however they just couldn't. DC did a very poor job with Static overall. He went from being a well known character among a generation to being an afterthought.
X-Men 97 is goated, period. It’s always a good day when a superhero show based on comics or modern cartoon in general shuts haters up and proves them wrong with their “ooh this is bad cause it’s woke waaaah” Yet comic and animation fans be eating good every year, a few duds ain’t ever gonna change that, and X-Men 97 is a smorgasbord.
Man that's so true, it's been really satisfying seeing how all the contrarians who were hating on the show before it released quickly shut themselves up after seeing how amazing X Men 97 turned out to be lmao
I actually think Wally is simply dead and did not ascend to the Speed Force. There's nothing that implies that he might still be alive unless your a DC fan and know what the Speed Force is. So I don't feel like it was unresolved. Still don't like Seasons 3 and 4 of YJ though.
I just hope that season 2 will be good even if Beau Demayo won’t be involved anymore but who knows maybe the writing will be bad in season 2 and maybe Disney will reconsider hiring him back I hope. Also why hasn’t Warner Bros hired Beau Demayo to write all there Dc animated movies and shows, I mean come on his writing is so great, that it reminds me of Dwayne Mcduffie’s. Please hire him Dc.
Yeah it really sucks Beau DeMayo was fired, he has said that he did get to write a lot of Season 2 before he was fired so at least we'll get to see some of his ideas in the new episodes. And I love your idea, if DC would hire DeMayo after Marvel fires him it'd be amazing and kinda funny honestly lol
Hello @@SantiBarrios thank you for noticing my comment. I’m glad you liked my idea. Also do you do requests because I have a video idea you can do. Can you make a video about Andrea Romano? She was a casting and voice director for Warner Bros for years until she retired. She was one of the best, I’m not trying to be rude or mean to Wes Gleason (another voice casting director) but some of his choices for the recent dc animated movies he’s done have been bad mostly, again I’m not trying to be rude. Please if you can.
I think Masters of the Universe: Revelation is great but Revolution is ok but I give it a good, I love as much as X-Men 97 both revival show are better than Young Justice revival Season 3 and 4.
Bring back Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes.
