Thank you for all the information on this video. I really learned a lot and glad i stumbled onto your video since i am considering Lowering my forks on my 02 Honda shadow vlx 600. Do you have any tips? Did you have to lower the rear suspension?
I never ended up lowering the back. Mostly because with changing the seat and cutting the frame it already had a low look. If anything i'd love to raise it a bit. As for your vlx 600 take a look at my Suspension Geometry video I did more recently for some more insights on what happens when you dick around with suspension. - education video : ytube.io/3JqW - second version video: ytube.io/3JqZ - the tool should you want to play with it yourself: bityl.co/7qnd
For those of you that are interested in what is actually effected by changing different parameters of the front suspension check out the tool I built www.balkanmoto.com/tools/suspension-geometry

Great video. Where you able to lower the stock handle bars or is the diameter too small to slide them down?
Very helpful thankyou
7:09 green man on the roof of the car???
That genuinely made me laugh, I actually never noticed it.
So lowering the triple tree reduces rake?
In a sense yes. But that is not the only thing it does. here check out the article I wrote www.balkanmoto.com/articles/10 has a bit more info.
