  • Thyroid Radiofrequency Ablation Is Highly successful treatment for Thyroid and Nodule’s either small or large and toxic nodules. This case is an extreme case Of a multi nodular Thyroid goiter That is not only compressive but disfiguring. When surgical options are refused by patients due to the High complication risk During surgical procedure which includes dying, Then the thyroid radiofrequency ablation is the only option for a patient in this case. Although keep in mind this patient should’ve undergone thyroid surgery years ago but now the compressive and disfiguring affect of the goiter has led to swallowing issues, breathing and now voice changes. Thyroid radiofrequency ablation Is his patients next best option!

Bless your soul doctor 🥲 what an amazing story! I had lymph glands swelling upper half of my neck w edema and the pressure & compression!
I cried and said "it feels like someone's hands are around your neck choking me..like chains wrapped around my neck" &
...ive NEVER SEEN something like how bad off this man that you treated! He suffered 8years!?!
All I can say is thank you for your mercy on him💓he was suffering so much. Bless you for your care for that man. I know that man is a jewel bc anyone who suffers that much sees life from a very different angle.

The success rate for knowledge reduction at our office and based on our experience is 80% plus all the way up to 100%. The smaller than nodule the higher, the reduction percentage.

Radio frequencies is designed for thyroid nodules. When the nodule becomes extremely large or it takes over the entire lobe, the reduction is lessened therefore it is important to treat early and sooner rather than waiting. This patient received substantial reduction and alleviation of the compressive symptoms, although his neck it is highly unlikely that his neck will go back to his original size

Wow Richard I am so glad this wonderful doctor can help you. While I was watching, I was wondering if you have ever tested for low iodine?

Hi Dr. Nikravan! Have you ever had a case where you did the RFA treatment, and the patient’s nodule turned hard. My goiter was 8cm, and now its down about half to 5cm. While I am very pleased with the superficial look, my goiter is now super hard. It hardened about a week after the procedure, and it’s been 2 years, and is still hard. I want to go in for a second procedure, but I’m a little nervous. Is the hardness normal? Please let me know. Hope to hear from you soon!

May I ask, how you are doing now? What’s the percentage of it growing back? Did they give advice on what to do or take to assist in softening it? And where did you have it done, Im in Washington, DC and am looking into this alternative to thyroid removal and haven’t been able to find a specialist for this specific procedure. Any information would be tremendously appreciated!

@@tinadevine8100 Hey. Some days it seems as if it’s growing back and some days it seems like it shrank more than half. But I guess it’s still the same size (down half). I got a consultation done at John Hopkins in Maryland, and got the procedure done in Kentucky. But check out “John Hopkins RFA Treatment” here on RUclips and you will see the endocrinologist that offers the treatment. Haven’t been back for a second treatment yet……

    Why RFA for this nodule!
He is a perfect candidate for Thyroid artery embolization.. embolize the 4 arteries of thyroid and give him hpocalcemia medications after embolization for a week .. he will loose 70% of this thyroid within 2-3 months

    • @Pezhman101

This option was given to the patient. He did not want his parathyroid damaged. Je did not want to go the embolization procedure based on the possible complications.
