- I've got a massive benign thyroid nodule that literally has me in a choke hold. I needed to know how to avoid thyroid surgery, so I found another solution. Thyroid Radiofrequency Ablation (RFA) is a successful but little known procedure I have recently learned can shrink solid thyroid nodules. I want others to know about this nonsurgical alternative to thyroidectomy, how to shrink thyroid nodules, and be able to breathe easily again.

I'm so happy that you are sharing this info! 13 years ago I found out that I had hyper thyroid nodules. I did not want radio active iodine so I searched. I found ethyl alcohol ablation. I've had 3 treatments over 13 years and insurance is still calling it experimental. I am proof that it works. I am once again hyper and have heard that this is better. I will be checking it out. Once again, thank you for posting. People should know that they have healthy options.

Same problem with me exactly as you I have ugly panick attacks Cuz of that damn lump on my throat I feel like I can't breath and that's what triggers the panic attacks

Mine is also on the right. I went to a surgeon today and she told me that I need to have surgery. I don’t want to have surgery, which is why I am in RUclips looking for alternatives.

Get yourself checked out! And don't settle for thyroid surgery until you get opinions from doctors who are trained in thyroid RFA. Many uninformed doctors will advise against it.

No radiation. Radiofrequency is heat.

I have not met any Canadian drs yet, but there are many in the US near the Canadian border. Any American dr would treat you.
Thanks a million! I have nodule enlarged on my right side of neck for years which Dr. told me to go for surgery and another Dr. said no, is ok . Two years ago I started having short of breath I thought is asthma. So is because of nodule englargement
I have hyperthyroidism and my thyroid goes through waves of small to big. Currently feeling like I'm being strangled internally. This to shall pass 🙂 currently look like a bullfrog.

Mine was mostly solid with some blood in the center.

Did you have any symptoms caused by nodules as far as them causing your TSH to drop very low therefore causing blood pressure spikes and headaches?

Hello 👋 I'm now 43 yrs old and my nodule was discovered during pregnancy now 4 years ago. I had it checked out and had the fine needle aspiration done no cancer. Yay 🙌, but im doing that waiting game thing and it drives me crazy thinking that this thing could one day cause major issues and I'm just letting it sit here. I'm so happy to have found your video. Hi i have the same as you, my nodule has grown i take same herbal medicine but still it getting bigger...i want to treat it but i dont have enough money..is the procedure available in the phillipines...me is on the left side, i have done the biopsy and its benign..i dont want to have surgery also.

So far, this is not available in Canada. I have heard several stories of Canadians traveling to the US and other countries to have RFA. I pray that you can make the decision that is best for you regarding your treatment.

I hate that in 2023 RFA is still NOT covered under insurance. Why, if it’s FDA approved?
It is FDA cleared, it just doesn't have CPT code yet. Some insurances will cover, but it is inconsistent. I agree that it is a shame that we haven't made more progress since 2018 when RFA first became available in the US.

@@Greatful0374 it is covered by various insurances. It depends on too many variables to give any sort of recommendation on choosing a company.
I have dental metal implant. Can RFA be done ?
You need to ask a provider about your specific implant. For me, I have a lingual wire (permanent retainer) on my upper and lower teeth and it was not a problem. I also did not remove my piercings of wedding rings. Some drs do require you to remove them though.
Hello, i'm from lebanon and im going tgrough the exact state you are talking about i have thyroid nodules that has an enlargement from 2 cm to 4 in the right side and a small one in the left i'm 32 and been dealing with this after i had covid in 2019. So i really wanna avoid the surgery cuz all the docs say it has to be completely removed and am going through complications cuz of the size if nodule such as difficulty un breathing and swallowing and some throat pains maybe caused by the nodule.. i dnt think the treatment you're talking abt can exist in Lebanon tho :(. what should i do??
P. S my TSH test are always normal
