I enjoy their new stuff, as it's very heavy and still progressive, and I do appreciate the fact they have no problem fulling off their old stuff live, but I wish they'd release another album with both that heavy grit and the symphonic element that made them so unique in the first place.

My gf sang an opera yesterday. I recognized the part before Rusell sings in Through the Looking Glass. The opera is Tourterelle (Romeo and Juliet by Charles Gounod) and one part of it is exactly like the guitar lead in Through the looking glass 👌😀

I mean I had suspicions but to actually hear the pieces where they were taken from is fascinating! the fact that they compose original music and fit these parts in is genious, like how do they do it?! it's incredible music composition in my opinion!

The only question is why did Symphony X move away from this style and will they recapture it with their next album? Awesome video, the fans want more V and Divine Wings than Underworld. Latest album was a disappointment and departure from their great works
I think they moved away cuz it's a lot more hard work to do and the sales aren't good ...the newer direction is easier in terms of composition and appeals to more kids today and sells more
@@silverstone3228 Fair points but that to me is selling out -- and also not what drew me to them in the first place. I respect the new direction and I guess I'll always have their earlier disks but there's better neo-classical bands out there nowadays making great music.
