Rick Springfield is a talented singer/songwriter. His concerts are huge parties and he takes time to meet his fans and sign autographs. He's a true gentleman.
I've been a Rick fan since 1972 and have been in almost every official fan club he's had since then. Back when Rick did this performance on the MDA telethon, it was before e-mails and FB, etc., so fan club information was via regular mail. I got sent a notification that Rick was going to be on this so I watched all day and no Rick. I watched until after midnight and then had to go to bed. I later found out through another fan club communication that Rick's performance was shown at 4:00 a.m. in the East Coast. I was so ticked. So this is actually the first time I have seen this performance. I was actually a regular supporter of the MDA for many years and ironically also missed Rick on the telethon again back in Sept. of 1981 this time if was because I was actually at Great Adventure in NJ waiting to see Rick in concert for the first time. Rick and his band did a quick stop in NYC for the telethon were held up getting to the concert in NJ because there was a transportation strike going on. They ended up having to get helicopters to get them there and as the copters flew over the venue chaos ensued.
I can't even believe how well Rick Springfield is singing! I have not heard that song in a very long time ago! That is another one of my favorites! Rick Springfield was born to be a talented singer and songwriter forever! Rick is so amazing and inspirational singer and songwriter forever! Rick is very talented in his concerts with his fans! He is my inspiration and my idol! He is my rock and my guardian Angle! Love you Rick oxox!🎸🎤🙏🎚💝💯👍⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
These were the two songs from the album that was never released due to a contract issue. 3 years later he released Working Class Dog…and the rest is history! I adored this dressed up classy RS of the 70s and early 80s! I loved when he wore suits and Converse high tops!
these songs were re-release don an album called Beautiful feelings " released after jessies girl" with Ricks name was on it but he had no part in the arrangements and really disregarded the record other than n an occasional Bruce joke ! lol
It was so common back in those days. Anytime an artist performed "live" on television, there was an 80-85% chance they were just going to lip-sync to the record.
Great music, Rick! I can identify. But you may have sold more records if you had put some sexy females behind you. Not that you're ugly. But I don't want to look at my Own face for 7 minutes.😁👍
That man has never had an off day ! Was fine and still fine😍😍😍😍

Loved his fan club.
What a gem. This is a couple years before Rick joined General Hospital and recorded & released Jesse’s Girl.
This was the Mission Magic era
BRUCE! I love this song, it's so much fun and it's true! People always get Rick mixed up with "Bruce" !!
At least Springfield showed he had a sense of humor about it all.
I met him. Really nice guy. Quite talented, too! Still performing. 🎤🎸🎵🎶

He's lip-synching. The 1984 re-recording has the same exact vocals.
What a gorgeous man and a talented singer/actor.
I remember the "Bruce" song! Wow, thanks for uploading this! ❤️
Hard to believe that Bruce got more airplay in the 80s than the 70s during Born In The USA.
Born In The USA was released in 1984.
I never thought that I can see Rick singing this song live !
He is fine as wine!!!! ❤️❤️❤️......
I love this man lol I was 16 in 78

I LOVED THIS!!
Same as below.
gotta hate lip syncing to songs…

Back in those days? They still do it all the time!
