Love the gorge.....we have friends with a property just outside Cheddar we visit each summer....I have never actually ridden the gorge ! Need to remedy that soon....😊🥃🏴
Thruxtons a beauty isn't it. I've been lucky enough to race round it on a zxr400, fair to say its flat-out 90% of the time on one of them. Cracking video as usual!
+Tom Harrison Ha Ha, aye I bet a 400 is great fun along there! They introduced some cone chicanes on the IAM day to try and slow it down a bit. Glad you’re enjoying the channel mate 👍
Ah cheddar gorge! I was there this morning! I take a cheeky detour on my commute a couple of times a week, great fun first thing in the morning when no one else is on that bit of road :-)
Any thoughts on the next bike? it would be cool to see you do a video with the tmf on choosing your next steed seeing you are both gs fans and have plenty of miles under the belt between you.
+Adam King I’d love to do a vid with TMF, in fact we’ve spoken about it on here before, but he’s really busy with his own content just now - he does this full time now whereas it’s just a hobby for me. At the moment it’d have to be a new GS for me, but I’d like to try a few others just to make sure, so expect a fair few review vids once I’m able to ride again 👍 I’m hoping RichyVida, TMF and I can do something together for a wee series of vids in the New Year, that should be a great craic 😉
+Norrie Masson For sure Norrie, to be honest I used to think it wasn’t my thing, but having done the Kent Fire & Rescue and now this IAM day, I’ll be looking into doing a lot more. As you said, can only help can’t it 👍
+Norrie Masson I think they do 2 a year at each circuit - Thruxton and Croft. Dates aren’t released until early 2018 but they go VERY quick so get in early.
Regards training other than the IAM the best I've done was with i2i Motorcycle Academy, it was a terrible day weatherwise (a bit like your last day of the UK trip) and I was doing machine control part 1. The rain was the best it could be though as they showed me how to brake properly and the rain emphasised how good your brakes are if used correctly. I was doing stoppies in torrential rain.
+John Burnet Wow, that sounds a great course to do. I’ve seen them advertised but never looked into any further - will give it serious thought now though, cheers John 👍
Awesome stuff, I've just posted a Cheddar Gorge video too. I didn't know you were allowed to use a drone there, would have loved to have gotten mine up in the air there! :-)
Tbh I was a bit naive when I first got it and flew it anywhere, but now I know otherwise. There were LOTS of warnings about flying there on my DJi remote, but it wasn’t a red zone were I was so I could just ignore the warnings and fly up to a set ceiling height.👍
Is it the Mavic Pro you have? They are proper handy little things, love mine, just wish I could use it more places. Yeah I think the green warnings are ok. I get annoyed when it alerts me after I've taken off, it is like, thanks mate, couldn't you have said before I flew it! :D
Yep same here, I have the Mavic Pro. I think the regs around Drone flying in the UK are going to get way more stringent next year, I’m tempted to just do the commercial course now before they hike the prices up.
Thanks for the video Bruce, I have also watched your more recent videos at California Superbike School as well. I want to do more track training primarily to improve my road riding not to become a track day rider. How does the IAM day and CSS compare? There are also other companies that offer training on track - Rapid, BSB school. Thanks very much!
Did you not rate the Metzelers? Are the road smarts better? Agree the GSA is unbelievable had mine a year 11,000 miles and wouldn't dream of stopping it
+Paul M The Metzelers has great wet grip, and initially the dry grip when pushed hard was stunning. But after about 3,000 Miles I really felt them ‘wander’ when accelerating hard out corners, or braking hard on approach to bends. They were down to the tyre core at 4,300 miles. The Dunlop Roadsmart 3’s had the same sensational wet grip, but the dry grip was just superb. I had over 6,500 miles on them when I was taken out by the SMIDSY and they still had a lot of life in them. When I get a new bike (GS) I’ll be putting Roadsmart 3’s straight on them for sure.
Quality vid mate, would love to do one of these days as looking to do more track time next year. The website doesn't show any prices, do you mind me asking how much is it?
+Matt Eyres I think it was about £135 or £150 maybe, so comparable with a track day at a big circuit really. The instructors you get are top notch too, our one is a Nurburgring instructor?! I’ll do it again for sure, great day out and they do Thruxton and Croft circuits.
teapotone that's bloody good! Some tracks are £250 a day, will be doing one when they release the dates for next year :) awesome vid as always! Shame about the go pro screen!
+Matt Eyres Aye I know, I was gutted! But I got a replacement on eBay/amazon and it’s fine and dandy now. Thanks bud, glad you’re enjoying the channel then 👍
Just curious, I understand Helga is around now and Herman is not but, what mode do you usually ride? Especially since you took the current bike to a shop to tune it up a wee bit? Cheers.
Picking up a new gs tomorrow think it’s coming on Bridgestone so might have to change them straight away. Keep up the good work on all the vids. Need a Uk meet up!
Aye defo, I did one way back I’m about April/May up at the Super Sausage but haven’t got around to doing the vid yet! Will do another few before the end of the season though 👍
Love the gorge.....we have friends with a property just outside Cheddar we visit each summer....I have never actually ridden the gorge ! Need to remedy that soon....😊🥃🏴
Loved the camera work, lots of lovely details (little snapshot of the dog, aw), great narration, great sound. Cheers.
Very kind mate
Excellent Bruce. Thanks as always. I love that road through the gorge.
+James Roberts No bother James, aye it’d be great with no traffic, beautiful place 👍
Thruxtons a beauty isn't it. I've been lucky enough to race round it on a zxr400, fair to say its flat-out 90% of the time on one of them. Cracking video as usual!

What a great bit of video. Saturday night trawl through RUclips and this really stood out.
Awesome, cheers Sniff! Glad you enjoyed it bud👍
Ah cheddar gorge! I was there this morning! I take a cheeky detour on my commute a couple of times a week, great fun first thing in the morning when no one else is on that bit of road :-)
I bet it is Steve 😁
It’s always been rammed with traffic when I’ve ventured over there 😔
Cracking video again matey!!! Quality 8 mins viewing whilst on the throne!!!
+Marc Fulcher Ha Ha, well I’m glad it entertained! 😁👍
They used to have them here at Mallory Park but I'm sure all this year they've been at Thruxton. Great video mate. LYL
+Hepcat Harley Thanks Harley, yeah they hold them at Thruxton and Croft now 👍
Great video again! Loved the footage of the cheddar gorge! :)
+Christopher Gothard Thanks Christopher, aye it’s a beautiful place to go 👍
Well great video makes me want to go and visit there now nice one 👍😁
great vids Bruce. couldn't help but notice the lose of direction coming out of thruxton. ;o. wish you a speedy recovery top notch!!!
+Adam King Ha Ha, that’s what happens when you let someone else lead!!😜
Thanks bud 👍

+1 for the IAM and RoSPa training which can only but improve our riding skills
+Norrie Masson For sure Norrie, to be honest I used to think it wasn’t my thing, but having done the Kent Fire & Rescue and now this IAM day, I’ll be looking into doing a lot more.
As you said, can only help can’t it 👍
teapotone off hand Bruce do you know how often they hold these skill days
+Norrie Masson I think they do 2 a year at each circuit - Thruxton and Croft. Dates aren’t released until early 2018 but they go VERY quick so get in early.

Thanks Teapotone. Running Metz on mine but will try the road smarts next time
Good video Bruce
Love the way you put these vids together. Like TMF said - "Nice work". BTW, everyone knows the A39 goes to 2 Melvill Road!
+Paul Stredwick Ah does it, I’ll pop by for a brew then 😜👍
Thanks for your kind words Paul, glad you’re enjoying the channel still bud 👍
We went up to Cheddar Gorge years ago just after they surface dressed it. Couldn’t do more than 10mph and it was like riding sheet ice.
Fairly new sub, loving your vids...keep em coming great viewing & comms 👍
+k4rloGSer Thank you bud, glad you’re enjoying the channel 👍
Seriously considering one of these days to improve canting over confidence. Another cracking vid pal
+Minion Ninja16 Cheers Minion, glad you’re still enjoying them bud, and aye those days are well worth doing👍
Looked like a lot of fun.
+Edward Leniston It was Edward, hand on heart I thoroughly recommend the IAM day, great giggle 👍
So Cheddar Gorge isn't made of cheese. I'll get my coat! Great video, just the right amount of decent music unlike some videos that just play music.
+Dougie Ba-boom... ‘tish! (that’s a drum roll/cymbal crash by the way😉)
Thanks Dougie, glad you enjoyed it bud 👍
nice one mate hope your back on your feet soon or rather back in the saddle ;-)
+Bulldog Gaz Cheers Gaz, probably be the New Year realistically! 😞
Cracking vid, nice work.
+Roussillon 1 Cheers Roussillon, appreciated as always 👍
All round my old stomping grounds Bruce, my parents live in Bruton 👍🏼😉
+Peter Power Ah very nice Pete, nice out there. Do you get back much?
Bloody hell I did a track day there when I was 21 (long time ago) in a F3 car, mega fast track
Good vid , I enjoyed that
+Craig Spence Cheers Craig, great stuff 👍

sounds like a good plan, I might look into doing the same, opens up more options then as well! :-)
👍
7:20 Chicken strips - NON :-). On GS - wow. You got some balls fellow biker.
+Aure P Ha Ha, Thanks Aure, it’s an amazing bike, so easy to ride well 👍
Thanks for the video Bruce, I have also watched your more recent videos at California Superbike School as well. Hi David,
For road riding you can’t beat the IAM Rider Skills Days - they’re great 👍
Did you not rate the Metzelers? Are the road smarts better? Agree the GSA is unbelievable had mine a year 11,000 miles and wouldn't dream of stopping it

AWESOME EDITING! (forgot that bit)
Ha Ha, you enjoyed it then? 😉👍
Another great video!
How do you secure your bikes overnight at a travel lodge?
+deadlyrasberry Park them in view of the reception, as close to the hotel as possible. That’s it.
Quality vid mate, would love to do one of these days as looking to do more track time next year. The website doesn't show any prices, do you mind me asking how much is it?

Hi Ole, I pretty much always ride in Dynamic Pro unless I’m going off-road or riding in icy/snowy conditions, then I put it in Enduro Pro.
Nice one 👍
+Brian Jones Thanks Brian 👍
I was there!
What were those tyres
They were the Dunlop
Roadsmart 3’s I think - best tyres I’ve had on the GS for all round road-based riding, superb.
Dangerous overtaking at 1.34.
Braw day oot!
+Heid Cam Ha Ha, aye it was that 👍
