Me too, what a treasure to find. My grand daughter just fell asleep listening to it she's 8. Asked what were those scratching noises, ha, ha, the scratches of a record that's half a century old! Though I had to admit that even brand new we usually heard some scratches.
The Story of Blackbeard's Ghost is great fun. And it is very nice to have a version to listen to on RUclips. Too bad this version was recorded at the wrong speed and is too slow for me to enjoy. I thought something sounded very wrong with Peter Ustinov's very distinctive voice. So I put on my 1967 Walt Disney LP Disneyland record. I didn't need to check my calibration, but I did and the turntable is spinning at 33-1/3 RPM. This RUclips recording is so slow that it doesn't even sound like Peter Ustinov or Dean Jones. Many will still enjoy this recording, particularly if you've never seen the actual Disney movie.
Who else but Blackbeard himself, as channeled by Sir Peter Ustinov, to tell the tale of Disney's Blackbeard's Ghost, based on the book by Ben Stahl, and starring Dean Jones and Suzanne Pleshette. Sadly, no real widescreen version of the film is known to exist; and the DVD is as barebones as it gets, with no real special features and only the original theatrical trailer.
