    American expat here - I love the extra depth of flavour that molasses gives to gingerbread as I was so used to it growing up. Perhaps a 50/50 split between molasses and golden syrup?
    And thank you for sharing your Nanna's recipe with us! :)

    Yum this looks delicious.! I might give it a try with maple syrup because I've never heard of golden syrup, probably not sold where I am!

    Hi Edd
    Lovely cake - looking forward to adding it to my repertoire. I would be tempted to use maple syrup if I were in the USA/Canada. I lived in the US for a while and found that a mix of maple syrup and some crystallized honey worked well when my supply of Lyle's was gone...

      bobskid I’d be very intrigued to see if maple syrup would work, I might even give it a go myself

    Looks fab; I’d like to try it this weekend. I have a few Bundt pans. How much stem ginger should go in?

      Misty Fulsome I normally go for 2-3 tbsp of chopped stem ginger, happy baking

    Can I use light corn syrup?!

    • @TheBoyWhoBakes
      @TheBoyWhoBakes  5 лет назад +1

      zoabi ebtesam you can but it has no flavour so the cake will be a lot less flavoursome. You can buy the real deal on amazon now though
