    Interesting.
I have to wonder if the full-time fan isn't defeating the purpose of the swamp cooler, i.e. bringing in hot air unnecessarily.
My guess is there's a humidity 'point of diminishing returns'. Once the space gets fully humidified, it won't cool anymore, and have to "start over" with dry air. ... That would call for a vent fan that went on and off based on humidity... "that would be different." Ha. 😅

Just received my cooler today. Very pleased plus you can add ice, or the melted ice from your ice chest. Also nice rig!

Ideally, the air flow should be continuous meaning what comes in should come out . . Im not too sure you meet that criteria considering the extractor on the roof and you say here´s also a vent on the door. The intake to the unit should be from the exterior otherwise the air becomes muggy, saturated with humidity, that´s the main problem with portable swap coolers. Adapt the unit by getting it close to the wall and make a hole on the wall so it can suck dry air, perhaps with a special coupler

This is very true. Hard to breathe PANAMA muggy!! After trial and error, I set a box fan in the hallway at an angle pointed towards the ceiling blowing toward the room with the "swamp cooler". Problem solved.

I just got one and set it up. Sat up all night Sunday into Monday am playing games on phone. I’m fortunate to have a ceiling fan, a desk fan oscillating in room with cooler and closed door will help with that air flow better than box fan., overall it was a good investment

Works best if you have the door open slightly or a window. Also another opening for the exhaust.

What is the water consumption rate? How many gallons per day? Thanks!

If you use a 12v pump with pressure sensing, a T should be able to feed a faucet and the cooler at the same time.

88*F is still too warm for me IMO... but I just ordered an evap cooler for use in 80-90*F climates in my 27ft Class C motorhome when out west. If it gets the inside temp down to 70-80, I'll be happy. Once it gets over 80*F it starts getting too warm for me.

Did you get the evap? How did it do?

@@evansvisualmedia It was damaged so I sent it back. It wouldn't keep the pump going. It acted like there wasn't water. I've just been running the big generator and air conditioner a couple hours a day as needed until I get further north.

@@evansvisualmedia I finally ended up ordering another, the same one in this video. I won't have it until next week though. It'll be good for places where I have access to water free or very cheap. It's awfully big for my RV but I can get a big heavy duty plastic tote to store it in my cargo trailer when it's not in use.

How long do you have before you have to fill water? Hours? Does the fan still blow without water? For instance, while your asleep, would you have to wake up every 3 hours to fill it?

It depends on the fan setting and the room temperature. On the lowest setting it should last most of the night. You can also run it with just the fan without the water pump. If you hook a hose up to it you don't have to worry about adding water.

This thing works very well for the price. Depending on HUMIDITY. Water sound is also nice. The water goes quickly depending on the humidity. "Halfway" full of water seems to last approx 3.5 hrs. I use COLD WATER that is stored in the refrigerator. It actually works. If you've thought of ice, that works as well. Fill res halfway with ice, then add water. It works however, the ice melts FAST. It adds A LOT of moisture to the air.

      Insulate the bottom somehow? Anyone?
