- After weeks of not editing this video, my dorm tour is finally up!!!! Im trying to edit my videos better so that takes a bit of time. Now that school has started, let's see what becomes of my motivation to edit videos or film content HAHA

hey abigail, do you know what follows with the dorm? i can't find if you need to bring pillow, sheets, planket e.g? do you know where i might be able to find it or can you maybe tell me
hello!! the school will provide you a bed sheet but you will have to buy everything else. I bought 2nd hand blankets and pillows from the HUFS flea market to save money. other household necessities you can buy across the street at daiso!

How much do you pay for semester? Also, does the price includes the food at the cafeteria? I'm going to study there next year
hi hi!! since im an exchange student, i pay my tuition to my home university. the only thing i paid for to the school was my dorm which was around $1100. Noo, you have to pay the cafeteria food per meal. But its really affordable like ₩3500.

@@RuteB sorry for the late reply but i think that should be enough per month! it really comes down to your spending habits but im just gonna let you know right now that you will be spending everyday 😂😂 im sure you’re gonna wanna eat at restaurants, hang out with friends, transportation, and go see exciting attractions so yeahhhh. you will be spending 😂

In the Globee Dorm, there is no kitchen. But in the lounge, there is a microwave! In the international housing, there is a kitchenette. There is a gym in this dorm, but due to covid it is closed :-( We do have a laundry room! It depends on what floor you stay, but not all floors have a laundry room. I stay on the 10th floor in the female dorm, so I am lucky haha. The laundry is affordable. its ₩500 ($0.50) per washing load and ₩1000 ($1.00) for the dryer.

And also very important did you find it hard to study there? I am also an exchange student and a bit worried that i won‘t have time to do something else besides studying. I am also an good to average kind of student from germany
Unfortunately because my classes were in English, it’s a little difficult to make friends with the Korean students. If it weren’t for buddy or language exchanges provide by ISO then I wouldn’t have had the opportunity to connect with a Korean HUFS student. Because of COVID, i felt that there was a weird divide between making friends with Koreans and some international students. So you really gotta be out there and open to make new friends. In the end it was possible. I did study a lot and their classes were quite difficult for me but I got good grades. I think its really up to you on how you balance academics & social life. A lot of my German friends actually said school in Korea was a lot easier 😂😂 But i had business classes and i needed my credits transferred so I had to make sure I did well. So it really depends on what classes you’re taking. Hope that helps :-)

Hi!! I am going next semester and also going to apply for the Globee dorm! ^^ Do you have any advice for an affordable place to stay during the mandatory quarantine?
i highly recommend an airbnb or use one of the places that hufs offers for quarantine. when booking an airbnb for quarantine, pls contact the host FIRST and ask if the place is available for quarantine stay. :-)

Hey, I should be going here in September and I’m wondering if Globee dorm is in the heart of Seoul? Like if the night life is good there and if there’s a lot to do in the area close to the dorms
Hello! Sorry so late of a reply and its already September 😅 But I studied in HUFS during covid era, so I'm sure you'll have a better experience than I had. I believe night life and around the campus should be more lively than when I studied there. Have fun and make lots of friends!

hello, can I ask you why you chose the global dorm ? I was accepted at hufs but i don't know if I want to stay in seoul or Yongin. Do you think it's easy to stay in seoul but taking course at global campus ( Where my department is ) ? thank you !
Hello!! I chose Globee Dorm actually. Global dorm is a different dorm that is not accepted for exchange students. If you are an international student looking to be there for 4 years, then you’ll be accepted to Global Dorm. I chose Seoul just because everything is in Seoul. I wouldn’t recommend that you stay in a different campus from where the school is located. That would be inconvenient for you to travel back and fourth and its about an hour commute. But also maybe if you know for sure your classes are online and they dont require you to be on campus then maybe it’s possible to live in a different campus. :-)

Hello!! As I worried about the same things prior to coming to Korea, I can say its 100% worth it. It may be hard in the beginning because its hard to make friends, get situated in a foreign country (esp if you cant speak korean), classes are online, etc. But I say you should still do it :-) join buddy groups that the ISO provides and go from there!
@@daliastancevic2032 yes we still have a curfew LOL the curfew gets lifted during exam periods. but if you’re worried about that, you can stay in international housings A-C. Personally i didnt want to stay in those dorms because I couldnt sleep in a bunk bed 😅

Hello! I'm gonna be attending hugs next semester and I need help!! Idk if I should stay in the dormitory (GlobalHall or this one) or book an apartment. Are the dormitory's rules that strict? is the curfew bearable?
oooo well thats really up to you. i would say living in the dorms is fun because then you meet other people easily. the con of that is the curfew and restrictions for Globee Dorm. Mon-Thur the curfew is 12 AM. if you stay past that then you start accumulating penalty points. even if you stay out past curfew, you need to request a night out through an app or something. it was too confusing so i didnt bother. tbh if you’re gonna stay a semester then it doesnt really matter. because the penalty points are more for evaluating you for the NEXT coming semester if you wish to stay in that dorm once more. but since i only stayed a semester i didnt care and just stayed out 😆 another con is that there is no kitchen which isnt that bad because there’s so many restaurants and grocery stores near by. you’re gonna wanna eat out with your friends anyways.
international house is cool because its like an apartment size but i would say its REALLY small. most of my friends who stayed there said it was small but at least there are no restrictions. if you’re unlucky you might be with 2 other people as international house allows 3 ppl per room. but with covid this may not be an issue as some students stay in their home countries.. but hey some people i knew were lucky and had no roommates. plus i hate bunk beds so that was a no for me.
global hall only allows 4 year international students to stay there. so if you’re an exchange student then you will not be allowed there.

You said that the penalty points didn’t matter to you since you stayed for one semester anyway and they can be inconvenient in the next one…so does that mean you’ll not be kicked out after reaching a certain amount of penalty points?
